Let's Make Love, is a 1960 film directed by George Cukor, starring Marilyn Monroe and Yves Montand.
New York: a billionaire of French origins discovers that an off-Broadway musical is about to ridicule his role as an unrepentant womanizer. His public relations staff advises him to go to Greenwich Village to talk to the people in charge of the show and convince them to withdraw the gag. Attending the rehearsals of the show, Jean-Marc is struck by the apparition of Amanda, who appears, in black tights and a sweater, sliding down a pole while she sings "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" with innocent malice. A love at first sight that leads him not to reveal himself and to pass himself off as the lookalike of the real Clément, thus getting the part of the billionaire in the show's curtain call. To impress the girl, Clément (who introduced himself as Alexander Dumas) tries everything, but she turns out to be particularly resistant to her court. He even goes so far as to give her a diamond bracelet (very real), telling her the story of being a costume jewelery representative. Jealous of the relationship between Amanda and Tony Danton, the singer, a former alcoholic put to the test by the production, tries to shine as an actor: he buys jokes with little success, gets dance lessons from Gene Kelly, singing from Bing Crosby and lessons in humor from Milton Berle. In the end he confesses to Amanda that his name is not Dumas at all, but Clément. The girl thinks you've lost your mind and she tries to console him. To convince her, he must persuade her to show up at the Clément palace, where Amanda will finally be stunned to discover the truth and accept the millionaire's marriage proposal.
