WHO recommends immediate skin-to-skin care with mother for premature babies

The World Health Organisation has revamped its guidelines on the care for premature and underweight babies recommending immediate skin-to-skin contact with a mother rather than the use of incubators. Research has found that so-called 'kangaroo care' could save up to 150 thousand lives a year.
