Khopra Pak is a traditional Gujarati sweet recipe made with grated coconut. Devour this special recipe on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan! Milk has been used as a binding and saffron gives it a rich, shahi flavor.
Ingredients:
(Serves 4)
-1 Cup Sugar
-1 Cup Milk
-Saffron Strands
-1 Cup Dry/Fresh Coconut (Grated)
-4-5 Kesar Peda (Optional)
-1/2 tsp Black Cardamom (crushed)
-Chopped Almonds/Pistachios
Method:
1. Take sugar, milk and add it in a pan on medium flame
2.Stir well on low flame until it starts boiling
3. Add Saffron in the boiling mixture and keep stirring
4. Now, Take 1 Cup of Dry or Fresh Grated Coconut and add it to the pan
5. Keep stirring until the water from the milk and sugar gets evaporated
6. As we have taken milk, add the kesar peda (optional) to the mixture along with crushed cardamom
7.Stir well and cook it for around 10 minutes
8. Once it is cooked, remove the mixture in a tray greased with ghee and spread it nicely
9. Now, garnish it with some chopped almonds or pistachios
10. Cut it while its's hot
