Tariq Ali introduces a program about Benedict Anderson’s famous book, Imagined Communities. Benedict Anderson was a scholar of Southeast Asia with a special interest in Indonesia, who truly immersed himself in the culture and politics of the region. A well respected intellectual, he is best known for his work on nationalism. This program from 1991 features him and several British intellectuals expanding on the concept of nationalism and Imagined Communities, especially as it reflected in the British culture of that day.
