"D-War" seems to stand for "Dragon War", for the plot is based on a Korean legend about Imoogi and Dragon. As far as I know, Imoogi is a big snake who has lived to be 100 and has long been waiting to be a dragon. When Imoogi gets her own dragon ball, she can be a dragon and fly through clouds. And dragon ball is well-known for its almighty power.
