This wooden craft toy was made over 20 years ago by the English puzzle maker Bart Phillips. When you tap the small rectangular box on the table, out shoots the 'Wood Worm' - which is constructed of a number of wooden discs. The discs themselves are made from different types of wood, which are listed on the bottom of the box. There is also a face at the front of the worm, and a single little antenna. This is actually part of the mechanism.

Inside the box is a spring, and when you push the Wood Worm back into his box, the little antenna fits into a hole in the box, which keeps the Worm loaded, as it were. But tap it on the table, and the Worm shoots out again!
