Tim was given this biro back in 1996 by a man who ran a restaurant in Belgium that was full of practical jokes. Unfortunately the restaurant no longer exists.
This biro was one of many items that he created.
When you slide the biro into the base, it appears to bend through 180 degrees, and emerge from an adjacent hole in the base.
In fact there is a second, smaller biro concealed in the base, which is controlled by a rocking lever system. As you pop the main biro into the base, the small biro appears. The two movements are so perfectly synchronised that it appears that the large biro is bending in half!
