Dans les rues d'Antibes
The French clarinettist Claude Luter had a very succesful band in the fifties and Sidney Bechet, who lived in France in his later years, played and recorded with the Luter band.
In this clip, probably made in the late seventies, Claude talks about these days and follows to perform one of Bechet's greatest compositions, "Dans les Rues d'Antibes" I think Claude Luter is a fine soprano saxophonist as well.
I loved this tune all my playing life as well and was able to play it in 1994 with Jacques Gauthe, a pupil of Bechet as well and who now lives and plays in New Orleans. The only video I have was from a concert in Japan. You'll find this in the Climax Jazz Band in Japan playlist .
