Crawfish Shuffle - Bob Wilber & WGJB 1972.
This morning , I was getting dressed and played my iPod and turned up the volume on that incredible Bose Sounddock. The tune that very much impressed me then and again now was from an LP made in 1972, recorded in Toronto’s Massey Hall, performed by the World’s Greatest Jazz Band. The tune was written and played by clarinet star Bob Wilber. These tunes today are not being heard any more. I checked the youtube files which comfirmed that.
Well, here it is: Bob Wilber on clarinet with the band backing him.
Yank Lawson, Billy Butterfield trumpets, Bud Freeman tenor sax, Vic Dickenson , Eddie Hubble trombones, Ralp Sutton piano, Bob Heggart bass and Gus Johnson drums.
