Honeysuckle Rose Clayton Buck 1965

Buck Clayton ( 1911-1991) is the Kansas style trumpetmaster who is remembered initially as a leading member of the Count Basie Orchestra.
He also recorded behind many of the Billy Holiday recordings
and toured with Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington.
After WW2 he lived in France and toured with Mezz Mezzrow. He recorded some fine sessions with his former Basie collegue and good friend Buddy Tate. I found some of the famous Vanguard recordings together with Ruby Braff and Sir Charles Thompson most interesting.
Here on a visit to Switzerland in 1965 he was recorded in a club session in Bern with the fine jazz/stride pianist Henri Chaix.
On bass and drums are Theo Siegrist and Pierre Bouru.
