For Heaven's Sake Farrell Joe 1968 The Elvin Jones Trio performs in the Netherlands in "De Doelen" Theatre in Rotterdam in 1968. Elvin plays drums and with bassist Jimmy Garrison they were both members of the John Coltrane Quartet in the early sixties. Here they feature the 31 year old tenor saxophonist Joe Farrell.
Joe Farrell, (1937 - 1986 ) was a jazz saxophonist and flutist.
In the 1960s Farrell played with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band. He is best known for performance with Chick Corea, in Return to Forever, as well for a series of albums under his own name on the CTI label, he also recorded with Charles Mingus, Jaki Byard and Elvin Jones.
He was heavily influenced by John Coltrane.
