There are very few Canadian reggae artists who achieve success and acclaim in more than one city. Jamaican-born Shadrock has done that very well, shuttling back and forth between Toronto and Montreal performing his hit songs like “Shotta,” “Shadrock,” and “Moving Forward.” His 2005 album MOVING FORWARD charted in Seychelles, South Africa, Miami, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, garnered him the Toronto International Reggae Music Awardfor best single, “Shotta.”
Not content to rest on his laurels, this talented artist (who’s still known affectionately by some as “Little Buju” because of his appealing baritone) continues to record and release singles. King Shadrock has also been busy touring everywhere from South Africa to Jamaica, and has appeared on countless concerts in Canada as well, from the Calgary Reggae festival to Toronto’s and Montreal festivals.
Now with new releases like ‘‘Faith in love’’ , ‘‘Sweet reggae music’’ and ‘‘Money lover’’ just to name a few, its obvious that he has reached another level musically. This has set the stage for his highly anticipated new album this summer 2009 and his mixtape in spring 2009. No wonder why this gifted artist has over 10 000 discs sales to-date, that’s only the beginning!
