FROM SWEENEYS BAR ON DAME STREET
PRESENTED BY TOM MILLETT

Tara Hill is a new Irish Ballad band that came together in 2011. Featuring Luke Crowley, long-time whistle and bass player with the Fureys, Paul O'Toole, former singer and guitarist with the Los Angeles based Celtic rock band the Young Dubliners, and singing banjo player Daithí Mac Siosta. Tara Hill plays Irish music drawn from the traditional music of Ireland, their set list comprises songs known and loved throughout Ireland, songs made famous by top Irish groups such as the Wolfe Tones, the Dublin City Ramblers, Christy Moore and the Dubliners. Their first album "A Mighty Session" was released on St. Patrick's day 2011 and is a lively tribute to the best of Irish Ballads, also including some self-penned tracks including "Keating's bar" a cheerful song celebrating the undefeatable Irish spirit in the face of economic recession.

The future looks bright for Tara Hill, they will be appearing on Balcony TV in June 2012, and will be performing at the Prosperous Music Festival on 26th August 2012, they will be sharing the main stage with other well-known Irish acts such as the Gypsies, the Mighty Ghosts of Erin and Bunóscionn.
