From vinyl to CD.
The process I use at home and it works very well with Audacity.

Play the vinyl, wet if very crackely. put on reel to reel tape.

Play reel to reel tape via audio mixer to lightblue input on computer.
The mixer allowes me not to overdrive the soundcard and minimise the distortion of the signal. ( VU output meters barely moving).
A taperecorder with variable output control will also work perfectly this way.

Record into Audacity software 1.2.6 (which is free on the internet).
Put it in WAVE format for the best quality 10MB/minute.

Burn to CD. It will play on your CD at home or in the car.
At least this is a great solution to listen to the good old records or tapes, which were gathering dust somewhere in the attick.
