This DVD tells the story about aikido and AIKIDO SOUTH AFRICA®, an organisation established in 2009 by Elroy Goliath (4th Dan) - a direct student of Hombu Shihan Yoji Fujimoto (8th Dan).
It is our wish that this video production with your support will help in growing South African aikido beyond its weak existence today, and becomes a meaningful martial art equally accessible to the broader society and in harmony with aikido's very philosophy. We believe that aikido for decades has been too exclusive and isolated (hence its fading existence here) -- a context particularly inappropriate given the sad history of apartheid South Africa which was built on the foundation of inequality and beneficiation of a selected few. This landscape has changed since the inception of AIKIDO SOUTH AFRICA®.
