00:00Avi, what do you make of that, of that open letter that was directed to President Trump?
00:05It was pretty scathing.
00:08I think this may be one point in which Ahmed and I agree.
00:12I think that there is a huge sentiment in Israel pushing for some kind of a deal.
00:19There is a great deal of support in Israel for the return of the hostages as swiftly as possible.
00:25And it is clear that there are certain obstacles in the way.
00:28Now, what we understand from former U.S. officials and, of course, others who have been involved is that Hamas has been the primary obstacle to the establishment of any kind of ceasefire.
00:38As recently as today, there have been discussions in Doha.
00:42And Hamas appears to be rejecting the Whitcoff plan, which has been put forward to have some kind of a gradual ceasefire.
00:50And that, of course, is tremendously unfortunate, first and foremost, for the people of Gaza,
00:54that will continue to suffer in this war that was launched and is perpetuated by Hamas, which is holding them as a massive human shield.
01:00But, of course, for all people in the region and, of course, the hostages as well.
01:03So I think there is indeed a great deal of support in Israel for some kind of a ceasefire.
01:08I think that letter was reflective of that.
01:11I'm very hopeful that that will move forward at some point in the near future.
01:13I'll see you next time.
