00:00Indonesian police on Wednesday held a news conference following the arrest of U.S. basketball player Jared Dwayne Shaw, accused of trafficking drugs from Thailand.
00:12Shaw was arrested on May 7 at an apartment near Jakarta after allegedly receiving a package containing edible cannabis candy weighing more than 800 grams.
00:30The 34-year-old had not yet been charged or faced court and remained in police custody as of Saturday.
00:49The U.S. player, who is playing for the Indonesian Basketball League team of Stapak Jakarta,
00:55could face the death penalty if found guilty of violating Indonesia's strict narcotics law.
