00:00Five passengers, including two children, were killed when a fire broke out on a moving bus
00:11in Lucknow on 15th May of 2025. Police said the bus, which was traveling from Bihar's Begu Sarai
00:16to Delhi, caught fire around 5 a.m. near Mohanlal Ganj in Lucknow, possibly due to a short circuit.
00:22Eyewitnesses recalled that most passengers had been asleep at the time.
00:26They woke up only when smoke began to spread through the bus.
00:29They also claimed that the driver smashed a window and escaped, abandoning the passengers.
00:34Locals rushed to the scene upon hearing of the blaze and alerted the police and fire services.
00:38Firefighters brought the fire under control within 30 minutes, but the bus had already been reduced to ashes.
00:44Just weeks earlier on 19th March 2025, four employees of a private firm were charred to death near Pune.
00:50An official said the casualties resulted because the emergency exit at the rear side of the minibus could not be opened.
00:55In the Lucknow case too, authorities suspect a similar failure.
