00:12De Niro, 81, made the comment during his Lifetime Achievement Award speech,
00:15calling Trump a, quote, Philistine and urging people to protest. He says, quote,
00:20you can't put a price on creativity, but apparently you can put a tariff on it.
00:25Organizers say they want to keep politics out and focus on the films,
00:28but this year's lineup, including movies from Gaza, Ukraine, and Iran,
00:32and Trump's tariff news just before the festival, has put more focus on the world outside Cannes.
00:38Jury head Juliette Binouche also used her speech to honor Palestinian photojournalist Fatma Hasona
00:43killed in an Israeli airstrike and featured in a documentary at the festival.
