00:00La la la, la la la la, la la la la la, La la la la la la La la la la la,
00:16Why want it. Impossible to be glad, Impossible to be glad,
00:25We launched the Knit and Nasa group at Woodstone Library. It's one of the first community groups
00:35that we established in our campaign to save the library, Hope You Can Closure, and it
00:40has just grown and grown and grown. So we've created a real community. People didn't know
00:47each other before they started coming. But they've made friends, they're sharing skills,
00:53they're sharing knowledge, and they're learning. And it's just a wonderful thing to be learning
00:59new activities and new skills. People are supporting each other, they're helping each other.
01:07And what the group is doing is breaking down the walls of social isolation and giving real
01:12support in the community to people. Yeah, and that ties in perfectly with the event today. We're here
01:16down at Mind's Good Mood Cafe. It's all about, you know, people speaking to each other, people,
01:20you know, connecting, and really, yeah, as you say, combining loneliness.
01:23Yeah, we're delighted to be here and working with Mind as well. They've supported us in a funding bid,
01:30so we are extending the Knit and Nasa group. And they invited us to come down, take part in today's
01:37event, and we're absolutely delighted to be supporting them. And it's really spreading the
01:42word that, you know, we all deserve and need good quality lives, and how we can actually help
01:48each other achieve that.
01:50Yeah, I guess this is the kind of community initiative which shows just how much Woodland
01:53Library, how important it is, and how much there is actually the community do want to
01:56come out and support this library, as they clearly are doing.
01:59I think it's really, really humbling for me that how the group is growing, this group
02:05and other groups that we are launching and soon to launch at the library, as we bring it
02:10back to life, really, after years of neglect. And it's helping all of us. I mean, despite the
02:17challenges, we're meeting people, we're growing ourselves, and what is actually happening is
02:24so supportive and much needed in our community.
02:27Yes, of course. So yeah, we're Cambridge Peter in South Lincolnshire-Martin. We're the leading
02:45mental health charity in the area. And today, it's this whole week, it's Mental Health Awareness
02:50Week. And the theme is community. So as a charity, we're coming out to connect with our communities.
02:56We're all about community connections. And it's been a fantastic day in Peterborough. We're
03:00having our pop-up Good Mood Cafe to really highlight one of our Good Mood Cafe services.
03:05We've also had the rock choir perform. We have a music workshop happening as well. And really
03:11trying to bring moments of joy to people in Peterborough today. And that's what it's all
03:14about.
03:15Yeah, brilliant. Yeah, there have been so many people walking by, really connecting a lot of
03:17people, encouraging positive mental well-being. It's a really great event.
03:21That's right. So one in four people will experience a mental health challenge at any given year.
03:25So therefore, it's really important that people know where to come and get support. And today,
03:29we're signposting to our services. And that's cpslmind.org.uk, where you can access more
03:35information and also help clients if you need to get help now.
03:37Yeah, should I just tell you a bit about the services that Mind can provide in the community
03:41for people who maybe feel like they're struggling?
03:43Yeah, of course. So we have our Good Mood Cafes, and they're a drop-in service. We have
03:47almost 20 of those across Cambridge, Peterborough, South Lincolnshire. You don't need to book,
03:51you can just drop in and you can stay for as long as you want. And they are to connect
03:56with like-minded individuals and to help boost your mood. We also have a dedicated service
04:02for new mums, our perinatal service as well. And we also have a safe space for people
04:06who might be experiencing a crisis, and that's our sanctuary service.
