00:00Thank you, Madam President.
00:01So first, Madam President, today we've heard some very good news.
00:05Edan Alexander, an American-Israeli and New Jersey native,
00:09has finally been freed from Hamas' brutal captivity and reunited with his family.
00:15I first met Edan's parents, Adi and Yael, right after October 7th, a few days later,
00:21when Edan was taken hostage by Hamas.
00:23For the last 583 days, Adi and Yael have fought tirelessly for Edan's release.
00:30Today, that work pays off as they finally get to hug their son again.
00:36Edan's release gives me more hope and motivation to keep pushing for the release of all 58 hostages
00:41still in Hamas' captivity, including the remains of four New Yorkers brutally murdered by Hamas.
00:48They were brutally killed, but their remains should be sent back.
01:02But of course, Hamas, as brutal as they are, doesn't do that yet.
01:07As the President departs to the Middle East, I call on him and his administration
01:12to use the full weight of U.S. diplomatic power to get a deal to bring all the hostages home.
01:17I will continue working as long as it takes to finally bring every last hostage,
01:22including the remains of hostages no longer with us, home at home.
