00:01:19Top focus on Five Live.
00:01:21Good evening and welcome to Five Live.
00:01:28I'm Pooja Shali with that one visit to the Aadampur Air Base,
00:01:31which many in Pakistan military attempted to say has been damaged,
00:01:36crippled for the Indian Air Force.
00:01:39Prime Minister Modi's visit ensured that it was an ultimate fact check and how.
00:01:44And we're going to analyze every image, every visual and the symbolic messaging through it.
00:01:48Let's begin first with the headlines.
00:01:56Prime Minister Modi Rose Adha Aadampur base reiterating India's new normal against terror
00:02:01says not even a single Pakistan missile could breach India's air fix.
00:02:05But importantly, with this visit, Prime Minister Modi managed to bust Pakistan fakery,
00:02:22demolishing the claim, a weird, bizarre claim that S-400 defense systems, the MiG-29,
00:02:28have been hit.
00:02:28All of that functional, operational in the background of PM's base visit photographs.
00:02:34Biggest slap clearly on Pakistan's face.
00:02:40But apart from this, India also categorically sending out a big message to America
00:02:45on the leveraged trade talks PM Modi asserting in address to the nation.
00:02:49Trade and terror cannot go hand in hand.
00:02:50Trump rushing to claim that he should be credited for the ceasefire understanding between India
00:02:56and Pakistan.
00:02:57India in fact going a step further warning the WTO that it may now impose retaliatory tariff on America
00:03:19over steel, aluminium, duty heights.
00:03:22India has proposed suspension of concessions in response to America tariff and tariff threat.
00:03:31Indian armed forces have been on the job.
00:03:33Three Lashkar terrorists killed in Chopin and Jammu Kashmir.
00:03:36Lashkar commander Shahid Kutay also killed in encounter.
00:03:40Combing operations are underway.
00:03:41Hmm.
00:03:49Big news coming in after this visit to Adhampur and of course the huddles that we have seen.
00:04:00Another cabinet committee on security meeting to be held tomorrow.
00:04:04That's the big news coming in.
00:04:06Remember, however, this becomes the first CCS meeting right after Operation Sindhu's latest phase.
00:04:14It's an ongoing operation though.
00:04:15It's the new normal.
00:04:16It's the new policy.
00:04:17But we are expecting a CCS meeting to be held tomorrow.
00:04:21As in when the timing is confirmed, we'll tell you.
00:04:23Remember, of course, this will be our Prime Minister's residence.
00:04:26But it's in the backdrop of almost a daily huddle, a daily meeting that has been happening.
00:04:31Whether it's with regard to Raksha Mantri, the CDS, the NSA or of course the Tri-Services Chiefs,
00:04:36it is significant of how these huddles and meetings usually lead to a big decision on the ground as much.
00:04:43At least what we have seen in the past few days, especially after the Pehel Ghaab massacre.
00:04:47There have been CCS meetings.
00:04:49There have been other huddles as well with the cabinet.
00:04:51And then Operation Sindhu's next phase has been revealed in-house.
00:04:55So that's the big news coming in.
00:04:57And a representative image of the past few days to help you understand that these meetings, remember,
00:05:03are not simply about security review right now.
00:05:06It's also about planning ahead when it comes to what needs to be done,
00:05:11one to keep India protected and safe and to teach our enemies a lesson.
00:05:17Amid all of this, remember, Prime Minister Modi already stating,
00:05:20Operation Sindhu is our new normal and our new policy.
00:05:24Prime Minister Modi is our new policy.
00:07:27I want to bring in India today's Aishwarya Paliwal for the latest on that. Aishwarya, we've seen that usually the CCS meetings in the past few days have led to a certain decision, especially with the ongoing Operation Sindhu.
00:07:40Tell me how significant will this be? What is the reason possibly according to your understanding the CCS will be held tomorrow? Who all will be a part of it?
00:07:47Well, you know, this is the super cabinet, Pooja, that we are speaking of and in this cabinet, let me tell you how secretive it is. The minutes are also not made and we have seen how over the course of the last fortnight, this is the third time that the CCS will take place.
00:08:04It will begin at 11 a.m. tomorrow. It lasts roughly for about 15 to 20 minutes. Crucial decisions are taken in this meeting. In the CCS, it has decided the next course of action.
00:08:13And what the government will do next with regards to the war-like situation that we have gone through. Now, one thing is very, very crucial. The top ministers will be made sure, will be told by the Prime Minister that you need to be ready just in case of an eventuality.
00:08:27So, that's something that we will see the top ministries looking at and also maybe a discussion on how next to squeeze Pakistan because that's something that the government is still looking at doing.
00:08:36We have the ceasefire in place, but there are chances Pakistan might actually violate it. How India will then respond, how our armed forces will then respond, all those things will now be looked at.
00:08:46And the other important thing that we will see is that after the CCS, the cabinet will take place, which means that simultaneously, the government is looking at the front on one side, how we need to make sure that Pakistan is shown its place.
00:08:57But on the other side, the growth that we have seen with regards to India, that does not need to stop. So, after the CCS, we will have a cabinet and then we might see some crucial decisions coming out with regards to the Indian economy in the cabinet decisions.
00:09:08All right. So, we'll be keeping a watch on precisely the kind of meeting that will be held tomorrow.
00:09:14A cabinet committee on security, very crucial, especially at a time at this juncture.
00:09:19Ishwara, thank you very much. I'll come back to you in a short while with more details on that.
00:09:23However, of course, the big highlight, this afternoon, how Prime Minister Modi's strategic visit to the Adampur airbase in Punjab debunked specifically, apart from other things, Pakistan's claim of destruction at the crucial base.
00:09:37And I want you to understand, why did Prime Minister Modi, of all our bases, visit India's second largest airbase, the Adampur airbase?
00:09:45Pakistan's air vice marshal, Aurang Zeb, remember, was the one to claim, with full theatrics, in a conference that Adampur base of India has been hit by JF-17 Park jets, have damaged the S-400 system.
00:09:58Look closely on your screens.
00:09:59The S-400 defence system, standing tall, functional, operational, in the background, as Prime Minister Modi's salute coming in for the Indian Armed Forces.
00:10:09So symbolic and strategic.
00:10:11In fact, this is the defence system, remember, that saved multiple civilians of our country, our country's military assets, when Pakistan missiles attempted to attack us but failed.
00:10:22And Pakistan military also attempted to claim later that they have shot down five Indian Air Force jets, including MiG-29.
00:10:31But our jets are right there, at the Adampur airbase.
00:10:34Again, another image that came in of Prime Minister Modi.
00:10:38So we'll go one by one, as I'm telling you.
00:10:40Prime Minister Modi clearly boosting the morale of the Indian Armed Forces, acknowledging the kind of contribution of the Indian Air Force,
00:10:47especially this time in 2025's Operation Sindhuur.
00:10:51Now let me take you to Prime Minister Modi, when he was seen walking, speaking to the air warriors, MiG in the background.
00:10:59All of this was sending a silent but a direct message, as much to our public of reassurance, but also to Pakistan,
00:11:05that you may keep throwing these farzy, fake Chinese satellite images with all the claims,
00:11:11but the fact is, on ground, at the airbase, everything is fully functional.
00:11:16Our aircrafts are on standby, possibly taking a break from their precision strikes that happened barely two to three days ago.
00:11:23Now let me take you to the big visual.
00:11:25How did it all start?
00:11:26At the airbase, when Prime Minister Modi arrived, look closely.
00:11:30In the background, what do you see?
00:11:31This is the Super Hercules C-130.
00:11:33It landed on the airstrip, with the Prime Minister Modi, of course, at the Adampur base.
00:11:38But what does this mean?
00:11:40That the airbase is not crippled.
00:11:42It cannot be.
00:11:43The air traffic control is working.
00:11:45That's the reason that such a huge military aircraft has been able to land.
00:11:49All fully functional.
00:11:51There cannot be a better messaging than this one.
00:11:54Also remember, then him waving at the air warriors, standing with them, wearing an air force cap.
00:12:00All of this was highlighting that we are in this together, united.
00:12:04The political leadership and the leadership of the armed forces,
00:12:07whether the air warriors or the officers or the jawans on the ground.
00:12:11This is that commitment together to the armed forces and the national security.
00:12:16Let's just do a bit of understanding of what exactly was heard.
00:12:20And as in a filmy way, we sometimes say, how's the josh?
00:12:24Hi, sir.

00:16:23There is better in the world.
00:16:53Do you think it was a messaging to Indian armed forces, Indian public or a fact check to Pakistan?
00:17:01Well, you know, Pooja, it's all of the above.
00:17:04I think this is a strategic signaling by the Prime Minister.
00:17:08I've lost track of the number of messages he's trying to send out of here because, you know, look at it.
00:17:13He's repeated the messages that he, you know, gave out in his address.
00:17:17His 22-minute speech at 8 p.m. last night.
00:17:20He's repeated the fact that the Modi doctrine for terrorism is going to be three-pronged.
00:17:24The fact that, you know, there can be no distinction between a terrorist state and, you know, terrorism.
00:17:30That nuclear blackmail will not work.
00:17:33And any attack on India, a terror attack will be considered an act of war.
00:17:37He's repeated that.
00:17:38And, you know, the setting of this is really important, Pooja.
00:17:41You've seen the S-400 has been with India for four years.
00:17:45You're seeing it in the public for the very first time.
00:17:48That's true.
00:17:49I've seen these launchers in St. Petersburg when they were about to be shipped to India.
00:17:54But this is the first time I'm seeing it here on Indian soil.
00:17:57The missile there is the 40N6E.
00:18:00It's the longest-range variant of the S-400 missile.
00:18:04It can shoot out to about 400 kilometers.
00:18:06It is the most powerful weapon that India has in its inventory to tackle very long-range missile threats, aircraft, maneuvering ballistic missiles and cruise missiles.
00:18:17So it's very symbolic.
00:18:18The Prime Minister standing there and giving that Air Force salute in front of the S-400 shows confidence in the Russian-made systems.
00:18:26And also the MiG-29 Pooja, that's another piece of Russian hardware that's been with India for 40 years.
00:18:33So there is multiple signaling at multiple levels.
00:18:36And this is no coincidence that all of this is in the background.
00:18:39It's all there.
00:18:40It's all arranged there to send out a signal to Pakistan that everything is intact.
00:18:45All is good.
00:18:46All is well.
00:18:47And it's also, you know, I would say a subtle signal to the United States that these two pieces of hardware, they're very critical.
00:18:55Russian hardware, Pooja.
00:18:56And possibly you could be looking at India trying to buy more of these.
00:19:00We have orders for MiG-29 in the pipeline, modified MiG-29s.
00:19:05And, of course, additional units of S-400.
00:19:08So this is India signaling to the rest of the world, including the United States, that they're going to go ahead with more purchases of the S-400.
00:19:16That is a very, very big thumbs up from the Prime Minister standing there.
00:19:21He rarely does this kind of signaling, Pooja, unless he wants to convey a very important message.
00:19:26And there he is with the troops, with the air warriors in the middle of an ongoing military operation, which is Operation Sindur,
00:19:35standing there with two very critical pieces of hardware, Russian origin hardware,
00:19:41indicating that India has faith in these platforms and also the country that has supplied them to us,
00:19:48indicating that, you know, we will not only look at Western hardware or indigenous hardware.
00:19:54We will turn to the Russians for this high-tech critical hardware like the S-400, one-of-a-kind missile system, Pooja.
00:20:02We're possibly looking at more of that.
00:20:04And, of course, the fact that the Indian Air Force remains Prime Minister Modi's weapon of choice to fight terrorism.
00:20:12He indicated that yesterday, you know, in his 22-minute address to the nation where he said the Pakistanis were,
00:20:18you know, expecting something on the border indicating something like a parakram or a cold start.
00:20:23But we hit them from the air.
00:20:25We, you know, struck into their hearts, indicating the fact that he will not hesitate before using the Indian Air Force,
00:20:32which in the past has never been used in the way that Prime Minister Modi has chosen to do.
00:20:37So, first in Balakot in 2019, single strike, single location, handful of aircraft and now this unprecedented rampage through Pakistan,
00:20:47the kind of high-tempo operation that the Indian Air Force has never undertaken since 1947, Pooja.
00:20:54And I think, in many ways, Adampur Air Base visit is a study in so much to say and has been said without saying as much.
00:21:02I think it's interesting the manner in which it was all arranged.
00:21:04In fact, there's one, another image I'll discuss with you after I come from Shivani Sharma,
00:21:09because, and that image is of the, with the fighter jet, with that, with that banner of how the enemy pilots don't sleep in peace.
00:21:17We'll discuss that as well.
00:21:19Shivani, first, I bring you in here in this telecast.
00:21:21Tell me about what messaging does this mean to be with the Indian Air Force personnel,
00:21:29the air warriors, the officers, men and women in uniform at this juncture,
00:21:34especially when we're talking about the offensive power of the Indian Air Force and how it led.
00:21:39Pooja, I want to take this ahead from where you've left by that slogan on the wall there
00:21:44when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was standing for a selfie that this is why the enemy do not sleep.
00:21:51But there's another joke that is doing the round, Pooja, that that is about the air defense systems of Pakistan.
00:21:57Somebody told me that I slept like the air defense system of Pakistan after so many sleepless nights.
00:22:03So that's another joke that's doing the round.
00:22:06One more thing you said was the theatrics of the air chief of Pakistan where he was showing those mocked pictures.
00:22:14He was bluffing the world about taking down.
00:22:16Yes, he was trying to bluff the world about the damages he's inflicted onto India.
00:22:22To that, Prime Minister Modi has countered that bluff, that theatrics by being on the ground,
00:22:28by showing the assets, the real assets India possesses, the S-400s, the MiG-29s and the runways that are intact,
00:22:36the personnel with the high josh out there.
00:22:39So all those fake narrative that Pakistan was bringing in, all that bluff it was trying to inflict, has been busted.
00:22:49The balloon goes busted totally.
00:22:53And one more important thing is the reiteration of the warning to Pakistan once again comes right from the ground
00:23:01where these personnel who were a part of Operation Sindhur Operations, not only on 7th of May,
00:23:06where the nine terror outfit were burst, they were struck in an unimaginable manner by these personnel, the heroes.
00:23:15So that kind of gratitude was also conveyed.
00:23:18There was a warning for Pakistan.
00:23:19There was a signal for the United States and the preparedness factor of our forces.
00:23:25So multiple messaging.
00:23:26Let's listen in to that, Shivani.
00:23:28Let's listen in to some of the more experts that have come in with regard to that speech, to that address.
00:23:34It was to the Indian Armed Forces.
00:23:36It was to the Indian Air Force.
00:23:38But it was as much to Pakistan, and like you and Sandeep have been mentioning,
00:23:42as much to the international powers.
00:23:45Let's listen in.
00:23:49Let's listen in.
00:24:19Let's listen in.
00:24:20Let's listen in.

00:25:16So apart from this, remember, there have been the satellite imagery that India has consistently
00:25:45been putting out. These are real imagery, unlike what Pakistan has been showing, which are fake
00:25:50Chinese help imagery. This we are telling you what before and after looks like for the very first
00:25:56time. When India hit deep inside Pakistan and many ways, the terror targets, the military targets later.
00:26:03Now we have the high quality satellite images emerging, showing India's precision strikes at
00:26:09key Pakistan air bases. And of course, remember the terror targets. Indian Air Force, remember,
00:26:14has this time clearly asserted that with proper evidence, they have successfully targeted 13 air
00:26:20base radar systems across Pakistan, whether it is in the Punjab province or Pakistan-occupied Jammu
00:26:26Kashmir, from Noor Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi to the Chaklala base to the Malikant in Karachi.
00:26:32Now another proof has surfaced of the heavy damage that was inflicted at the air bases and military
00:26:37facilities. I'll take you one by one to these details that are coming in. These are high quality
00:26:42satellite images and really you understand the extent of the damage that has been done.
00:26:48And the latest is the Bholari air base. Now this is very significant. The clear recent images accessed
00:26:54by India today show how the Bholari air base was worst hit among the locations that were on Indian
00:27:00target list and hit deep inside Pakistan territory. Look closely. The before and the after, you can see the roof
00:27:06of the hangar where these jets, fighter jets especially, are housed. It is damaged. It's crippled. You cannot use
00:27:13this air base at least for the next few months till they'll try to put it back together. But it's the
00:27:18same base where we are told that 50 Pakistan Air Force personnel, including, remember that one named
00:27:24squadron leader Usman Yusuf, were killed in the strike. Multiple jets that are believed to have been
00:27:30housed here have been destroyed. India used the Brahmos missile to target the air base. So remember,
00:27:36keep it in your memory, Bholari air base and the Brahmos missile. Another major operational base,
00:27:42Pakistan Air Force, Sargoda, was struck. Again, this is, remember, a huge deal. Pakistan never expected
00:27:49all these years, decades, that India could strike on these targets and successfully so. The air base
00:27:55is home to the combat commander school, operates multiple squadrons of the Mirage 3, JF-17, F-16 and
00:28:01F-7P. These satellite images clearly show both the airstrip, look closely, both the airstrip of the
00:28:07air base destroyed in the strikes. That means it has rendered the air base non-functional for now.
00:28:14Jakobabad air base. Houses, JF-17, F-17 squadrons severely hit by our forces. Satellite images show
00:28:22damage to the roof again of the hangar. Debris all around. Even the ATC building scene destroyed in this.
00:28:27The air base after is battered by India. Remember all of this, India was forced to take this step.
00:28:34We hit their terror targets. Then they used Pakistan military to try and hit our strategic assets
00:28:40under civilian population. We defended that, but we also decided to hit back. All of these images have
00:28:46been accessed, compiled by my colleague, Ankit Kumar, editor of our OSINT team. Ankit, take us through
00:28:52these images. Help explain of how different is the before and the after of some of the most crucial
00:28:58air bases. And unlike the Adampur air base, fully functional, Prime Minister Modi can land there,
00:29:04meet the forces. These air bases are non-operational for a while.
00:29:09Well, Pooja, there are two reasons why these pictures become very important. First, of course,
00:29:13because of the quality. You know, on day one, we saw the 10 meter resolution pictures. On day two,
00:29:19one to three meter resolution. This is ultra high resolution pictures, less than 50 centimeter.
00:29:25When we say less than 50 centimeter, what do we mean? We mean the pixel size is less than 50.
00:29:30Now, this is as clear as you can get. On your screen is a UAV base in Pakistan's Sukur. Now,
00:29:38this was a before attack image. Cut to May 10, you can see this entire hangar that houses
00:29:46UCAVs that has been completely destroyed. In the second picture, Pooja, in the second picture,
00:29:53this is Noor Khan base. Perhaps one of Pakistan's most VVIP sites, most protected because of the
00:30:01VVIP movements. You have refueler tankers, you have the transport aircraft, you have private jets.
00:30:08On May 10, this entire segment has been vanished. You can see this entire segment has been vanished.
00:30:15The beauty of these pictures, Pooja, is because India today has sourced these pictures directly from
00:30:19the satellite company. They are ultra high-res pictures. You can zoom in as much as you want.
00:30:25The second reason why these pictures are important, Pooja, is because these are commercially obtained,
00:30:29commercially obtained pictures. So Pakistan or the government of Pakistan may deny pictures
00:30:34released by Indian military, by ISRO, but these are released by a US-based satellite company.
00:30:40And that is why these pictures become very much relevant, not only in the context of India-Pakistan
00:30:46conflict, but also for people of Pakistan. The global media, remember, are now publishing
00:30:51these pictures. So these pictures become very important. Last on your screen will be another
00:30:57picture from Raheem Yarkhan, southern Punjab, very close to international border. You can see
00:31:02this runway. What happened here on May 10th? One of Indian Air Force missiles struck this airbase
00:31:08very much precision and this runway is now redundant. So all this, this is, if I can say,
00:31:16the ultra high-resolution version of leg 3 of Operation Sindhul, Pooja.
00:31:22But Ankit, do you think that at this juncture, because I remember Raheem Yarkhan's base is the
00:31:26same satellite image corroborating the ground crater of which also we have in evidence. How do you think
00:31:31possibly the world will pick on it? I've seen perhaps at a juncture like this, Pakistan trying to
00:31:36convince the USA and other nations. But with these images, do you think in many ways,
00:31:41the lies and propaganda of Pakistan stands busted?
00:31:45The narrative in Pakistan or the mainstream Pakistani media still largely remains that
00:31:51Pakistan has somehow managed to shoot down so many Indian aircrafts. But with these pictures
00:31:56making their way even through social media, now we can see start of conversation. People have
00:32:01started questioning, especially workers belonging to PTI. They have started to question their military
00:32:07about their version of the story. You know, 1971, 1965, 1948, Kargil, Pakistan military has their own
00:32:14version. In this case, they also have their parallel version. But with these kind of evidence coming in,
00:32:20people on social media have now slowly started to question the narrative put forward by the government
00:32:25and the military.
00:32:27Ankit, very well done. Thank you for getting us all these images. And remember, like Ankit is saying,
00:32:31these are of an international stature and this is not something that can be denied. Ankit, thank you very much.
00:32:37Now, I want to bring in Sandeep Onitan here. Sandeep, you cannot have more evidence than this.
00:32:42You have a satellite images before and after. We have corroborated it with the ground evidence.
00:32:46There is thermal imagery as well. This, I think, as at the peak of the evidence India is showing,
00:32:52unlike Pakistan, that's trying to either debunk our claims, but otherwise have nothing to show for
00:32:57them their own claims.
00:32:58Absolutely, Pooja. Don't forget the fact that the Pakistan naval spokesperson was caught out for using
00:33:03AI-generated photographs.
00:33:05Yes.
00:33:05So, that's the status of the Pakistanis right now. They don't know, you know, they have completely no response
00:33:12to these kind of, this barrage of images, Pooja. It's hard to tell which one's worse, the barrage
00:33:18that the Indian Air Force indulged on the 9th of May or the barrage of evidence that we now get,
00:33:25which Ankit has just shown us, the kind of hits on those airfields, infrastructure, all of that,
00:33:30bases smashed, airfields hold, all of this. This is unprecedented. I don't recall any other time
00:33:37in the 21st century where one country has inflicted so much damage in a span of about 90 minutes.
00:33:44And this is possibly one of the Indian Air Force's highest, you know, number of achievements, you know,
00:33:51bases hit in the span of, in such a short period of time. 11 bases installations, radar sites,
00:33:57starting from the high-altitude deserts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, all the way down to the
00:34:03Cholistan Desert in Sindh. It's a massive swath of territory you're talking about, more than 2,000
00:34:08kilometers. And they've used everything from aircraft-launched, you know, missiles, precision-guided
00:34:14munitions, cruise missiles, and of course, the Brahmos cruise missile. In these pictures, it looks like it was
00:34:20used in a steep dive mode, which absolutely goes right through, creates a hole. You know, and the point I want
00:34:26to make quickly, Pooja, is the fact that, you know, Pakistan has pursued terrorism against India as a
00:34:32low-cost option. It was, it cost them very little, a couple of, a few hundred crores every year.
00:34:39But now, the kind of retaliation that the Modi doctrine has brought upon Pakistan will force them
00:34:46to actually sit down and calculate the losses that we have caused to their radar infrastructure.
00:34:52There is a lot of high-value assets, high-value infrastructure that has been knocked out,
00:34:57hundreds of millions of dollars, Pooja, and definitely more than the kind of money that
00:35:02they are asking from the IMF as bailouts. So, at the end of the day, these attacks, these strikes
00:35:09are meant for the Pakistan military. We are repeatedly telling them that there is no low-cost option for
00:35:16terrorism anymore. You inflict terrorism on us, you come in and kill Indian civilians, this is what you're
00:35:21going to be getting. You're going to get your air bases struck and your high-value assets destroyed.
00:35:27Air assets are very expensive, Pooja, as you know. They cost a lot of money, you know, the naval and
00:35:33air force assets. And the kind of destruction that has been caused over here. And don't forget the
00:35:39overall international image that Pakistan is projecting, a country that is unable to defend its
00:35:46own air bases, whose entire air force has to withdraw to depth areas, as it's called, because
00:35:52they feared this wave of attacks coming at them. They immediately withdrew to their rearward bases,
00:35:57close to the Afghan border. And they've also started exercising their contingencies, that is,
00:36:02operating off the M1 and M2 expressways, which is what they do in times of war and crisis. So,
00:36:07this is, you know, this is classic India-Pakistan for you, Pooja. Since 1947, Pakistan starts something
00:36:15and India finishes it.
00:36:17Well, they have been trying to invade into Jammu Kashmir, right, since 1947. And they need to
00:36:23realize now, is it worth supporting terror all these decades? Because this time, with the cost
00:36:28inflicted, perhaps they will have a rethink. That's the hope, Sandeep. But you and I know Pakistan
00:36:33very well. And my expectations will be kept low, considering they want to launch more terror
00:36:38attacks in the Kashmir Valley. But we'll be tracking that. Perhaps a deterrent has been set.
00:36:43Will they go back to the table yet again? Sandeep and Ankh, thank you very much for now,
00:36:47because I want to now tell you the latest coming in from the Kashmir Valley. Remember,
00:36:51Indian Armed Forces have been on the job. Three Lashkare Taiba and their proxy outfit terrorists
00:36:58were killed in Kailar area. This is in Shopya, in South Kashmir, where Pahal Gaam also is.
00:37:03After an encounter broke out with the armed forces, the army launching, and with joint
00:37:07operation, Operation Kailar, named after the encounter site, and after they received a very
00:37:13specific intelligence, three caught, neutralized, and how. Here are the details.
00:37:19Fight against terror intensifies in Jammu and Kashmir. Three terrorists were killed in a gunfight in
00:37:35Shokal Kailar area of Shopya on Tuesday. The security forces acting on specific intelligence
00:37:42forces about the presence of terrorists in the area, launched a search operation. During the operation,
00:37:50terrorists allegedly opened fire, sparking a fierce gunfight, which led to their death.
00:37:57One of the terrorists is identified as Lashkare Taiba operative Shahid Kutte. He was allegedly
00:38:04involved in the firing on Danish resort on April 8, 2024. Two German tourists and one driver were
00:38:12injured in the attack. Shahid was allegedly involved in the killing of a BJP Sarpanch in Shopya
00:38:19on May 18, 2024, and in the killing of a civilian in February this year. He was the Lashkar South Kashmir
00:38:29commander. The second terrorist eliminated has been identified as Adnan Shafidar. He was allegedly
00:38:39involved in the killing of a non-local labourer in Shopya in October 2024. Three AK-47 rifles with other arms
00:38:48and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists. Two ultrasets and encrypted communication
00:38:56system similar to those used by terrorists in the Pahlgam attack were also recovered.
00:39:04Meanwhile, hunt for the terrorists behind the Pahlgam terror attack on April 22 continues.
00:39:12Security agencies have put up posters of the three Pakistani terrorists suspected to be behind
00:39:18the Pahlgam terror attack. A reward of 20 lakh rupees is offered for credible information on the
00:39:27terrorists. The three terrorists wanted in the Pahlgam attack are Adil Hussain Thokar, a resident of
00:39:35Anant Naag, and two Pakistani nationals Ali Bhai aka Talha Bhai and Hashim Musa aka Suleiman.
00:39:45The suspects are Lashkar operatives. With Meir Farid, Bureau Report, India Today.
00:39:54On 5 Live, I now bring in Meir Farid. He's been tracking all the latest from the Kashmir Valley. Farid,
00:40:03we've been having this conversation since morning when the encounter details started to come in.
00:40:07Tell me more about among these three, who do you think is the more important? Are we looking at
00:40:11Shahid Kutai clearly at this juncture? And what is the strategy of the Indian Armed Forces? Because
00:40:17eventually, what I'm thinking is active terrorists in or near Shopeya even now.
00:40:28Well, Pooja, before I give you details of these three, let me also tell you that just now we've got
00:40:37this information that Kashmir Revolution Army. Now, this seems to be the new shadow name of the
00:40:43Lashkar. They have come out with a press note and said that three of their cadre including Shahid
00:40:50Ahmed Kutai, Ehsanul Sheikh and Adnan Shafidar. So, this also tells us that the third one who has been
00:40:57killed has now been identified as Ehsanul Haq. Now, he's a local from Pulwama and got actually just last year.
00:41:05As you rightly said, Shahid Kutai is the face, is the person against whom the security forces had launched
00:41:11many operations. Yes. Simply because he was the local man for the Lashkar, the person who was
00:41:18responsible for logistics, for getting in new, young, impressionable minds, new recruitments. And
00:41:23around him, the non-local cadre used to revolve. So, that is why they say that he… his killing is important
00:41:29and along with him, two more have been neutralized. Pooja. Also, when you were talking about this new
00:41:35outfit, so to say, the Kashmir Revolution Army, let's also be very clear, these are simply these
00:41:40proxy outfits of Lashkar, Jaish, that are just trying to divert attention. Eventually, the imprint
00:41:44goes to Pakistan. Yes, Pooja. In fact, we've seen since last couple of years, they have been
00:41:56working, they have been operating under different names. Like, for example, People's Antifascist
00:42:02Front and the Resistance Front. Now, these are said to be the shadow outfits of the Lashkar. And then
00:42:08you have the Kashmir Tigers, which is being seen as a shadow of Jaish. All right, Farid, keep tracking
00:42:15all the latest on that. I'll come back to you in a short while. The Ministry of External Affairs,
00:42:19press conference is set to begin.
00:42:23Pat basically talked about a solution on Kashmir, talked about India and Pakistan,
00:42:27your reaction to this. And secondly, sir, my other question is, on India, Pakistan,
00:42:33ceasefire or understanding, the conversation between which all countries led to this ceasefire?
00:42:38What was India's view on that, on mediation? And what did India convey to these countries?
00:42:44Okay. Jessica.
00:42:49Hi, sir. This is Jessica Taneja for ED India. Now that both sides have agreed for
00:42:54stoppage of firing and military action, what will happen to the Indus Water Treaty? Because Pakistan has
00:43:00said that stopping of water will be considered as an act of war. What are your views on this?
00:43:05Mr. Kandam Bini?
00:43:18Mr. Kandam Bini Sharma, independent journalist. Sir, Donald Trump
00:43:20Mr. Siddharth, I am Siddharth from CNN News 18. Sir, any reaction from a statement which came from Pakistan's power ministry on Prime Minister Modi's speech from Frontline Adhanpur airbase?
00:43:48Mr. Siddharth, regarding your question, as you are aware, we have a long-standing national position that any issues pertaining to the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir have to be addressed by India and Pakistan bilaterally.
00:44:13That stated policy has not changed. As you are aware, the outstanding matter is the vacation of illegally occupied Indian territory by Pakistan.
00:44:24Mr. Siddharth, I am aware of this.
00:44:31Mr. Siddharth, I am aware of it.
00:44:34Mr. Siddharth, I am aware of this because of the
00:45:00Dhanth, you had another question regarding ceasefire
00:45:11and what sort of role other countries played, etc.
00:45:15See, the specific date, time and wording of the understanding
00:45:20was worked out between the DGMOs of the two countries
00:45:24at their phone call on 10th May, 2025,
00:45:28commencing at 15.35 hours.
00:45:32The Foreign Secretary had made a statement in this regard,
00:45:34as you would be aware.
00:45:36The request for this call was received by MEA
00:45:39from the Pakistani High Commission at 12.37 hours.
00:45:44The Pakistani side had initial difficulties
00:45:48connecting the hotline due to...
00:45:52connecting to the Indian side due to technical difficulties.
00:45:57The timing was then decided based on the availability of the Indian DGMO
00:46:02at 15.35 hours.
00:46:06You will, of course, appreciate that early on 10th morning,
00:46:10we had mounted an extremely effective attack
00:46:13on key Pakistani Air Force bases.
00:46:16That was the reason they were now willing to stop firing and military action.
00:46:23Let me be clear.
00:46:25It was the force of Indian arms that compelled Pakistan to stop its firing.
00:46:31As regards conversations with other nations,
00:46:35the message from India was clear and consistent.
00:46:38And exactly the same message that we were conveying from public platforms
00:46:44was the one conveyed in private conversations.
00:46:49It was that India was responding to the 22nd April terrorist attack
00:46:54by targeting the terrorist infrastructure.
00:46:57However, if the Pakistani armed forces fire,
00:47:04Indian armed forces will fire back.
00:47:08If Pakistan stops, India will also stop.
00:47:12This was also the message that was conveyed to the Pakistani side
00:47:16at the time of the commencement of Operation Sindhur,
00:47:20which was not heeded to by the Pakistani side at that time.
00:47:25It is natural that many foreign leaders who heard this from us
00:47:29would have shared it with their Pakistani interlocutors.
00:47:34Jessica, you had a question on IWT.
00:47:38The other day you saw that after the CCS decision,
00:47:43this Indus Water Treaty has been put in advance.
00:47:48I would also like to take you back a little.
00:47:50The IWT, the Indus Water Treaty,
00:47:52was concluded in the spirit of goodwill and friendship
00:47:56as specified in the preamble of the treaty.
00:48:00However, Pakistan has held these principles in advance
00:48:03by its promotion of cross-border terrorism
00:48:07for several decades now.
00:48:11Now, as per CCS decision that I referred to
00:48:13of 23rd April,
00:48:15India will keep the treaty in advance
00:48:18until Pakistan,
00:48:20credibly and irrevocably,
00:48:22abjures its support
00:48:23for cross-border terrorism.
00:48:26Please note,
00:48:27please also note,
00:48:28that climate change,
00:48:29demographic shifts,
00:48:32and technological changes
00:48:33have created new realities on ground as well.
00:48:37And then we had a question regarding trade matters.
00:48:48From the time of Operation Sindur,
00:48:53commenced on 7th May,
00:48:56till the understanding on cessation of firing
00:48:59and military action on 10th May,
00:49:02there were conversations between
00:49:06Indian and U.S. leaders
00:49:09on the evolving military situation.
00:49:13The issue of trade did not come up
00:49:15in any of these discussions.
00:49:17Siddhant, you had a question on
00:49:24the latest statement issued by
00:49:27the Pakistan Foreign Office.
00:49:30We have seen the statement made by the Pakistani side
00:49:33that a nation which has nurtured terrorism
00:49:37on an industrial scale
00:49:38should think that it can escape the consequences
00:49:42is fooling itself.
00:49:45The terrorist infrastructure sites
00:49:48that India destroyed
00:49:49were responsible not only
00:49:51for the deaths of Indians
00:49:52but of many other innocents
00:49:55around the world.
00:49:59There is now a new normal.
00:50:01The sooner Pakistan gets it,
00:50:04the better it is.
00:50:08Shall we take more questions?
00:50:09Yes.
00:50:09Mr. Jaiswal, I have two quick questions.
00:50:24One, that some of the Indian diplomats
00:50:27who have given interviews abroad
00:50:28have said that India has electronic intercepts
00:50:32and gathered intelligence linking to
00:50:33Pahelgam attackers, to the handlers,
00:50:35and they have been planning more attacks.
00:50:38So, have you given any kind of this evidence
00:50:41to the foreign attachés and diplomats
00:50:44that were briefed today
00:50:44and in the context of ambassadors also
00:50:47that were briefed earlier?
00:50:49And, yeah, that's about it.
00:50:52Sir, Megha.
00:51:00Good evening, sir.
00:51:01Megha from Newsax.
00:51:02My question is that India,
00:51:04it's being reported,
00:51:05is going to be sending a team
00:51:06to the UNSC 1267 sanctions committee.
00:51:12The meeting is going to be held later in the week
00:51:15and the purpose for it is to declare the TRF
00:51:19as a globally designated terrorist organization.
00:51:23If you could shed more light into this.
00:51:26Okay.
00:51:27Rishabh.
00:51:34Spokesperson, good evening.
00:51:35Rishabh from Times.
00:51:36Now, I have just two questions here.
00:51:37Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishakdar
00:51:39has given an interview to CNN
00:51:42and where he has claimed success and suggested
00:51:44that India was keen to have the ceasefire.
00:51:48Your comments on that.
00:51:49Also, there is a lot of buzz on social media
00:51:52as well as in various international media
00:51:54about nuclear leakage in Pakistan.
00:51:58Can you shed some light on that as well?
00:52:07Manas.
00:52:07This is Manas from PTI.
00:52:13So, U.S. President Donald Trump,
00:52:15again, he claimed yesterday
00:52:16that he stopped a nuclear conflict
00:52:19between India and Pakistan.
00:52:22And, you know, he stopped escalation
00:52:24and saved millions of lives
00:52:25through, you know,
00:52:28by reaching out to both capitals.
00:52:31He even said that, in fact,
00:52:32he pressured India and Pakistan
00:52:33to just come forward
00:52:36for the cessation of hostilities
00:52:38saying that if you don't do them,
00:52:41I will stop trade with both the countries.
00:52:44So, can you please clarify
00:52:45whether he just reached out to us
00:52:48and asked us to stop?
00:52:50You have been maintaining that,
00:52:51in fact, the resolution
00:52:53was arighted by two DZMOs,
00:52:55but have you just protested
00:52:57with the U.S. side
00:52:58for making these claims
00:53:00which we consider our best list?
00:53:01Okay, let me take these questions.
00:53:05First, Aditya, your question.
00:53:07You know, we have had
00:53:08several rounds of briefings,
00:53:10and in these briefings,
00:53:11we have also shared with you
00:53:12the kind of linkage we see
00:53:14between the preparators
00:53:16of the attack of Pahlgham,
00:53:17in particular,
00:53:19the resistance front.
00:53:23Foreign Secretary in his statement
00:53:24also made very clear
00:53:25the kind of evidence that we see.
00:53:29and investigation is going on
00:53:32in this particular matter.
00:53:34You would have seen that TRF
00:53:36had taken responsibility
00:53:38and then second time again,
00:53:40second day, twice,
00:53:41they had taken responsibility
00:53:42and thereafter,
00:53:43possibly, at the behest of their handlers,
00:53:45they rolled it back.
00:53:47But TRF is one organization
00:53:49which is a front of the Lashkar-e-Taiba,
00:53:51and you would understand
00:53:52and perhaps be in the knowledge of it
00:53:56that we have been pursuing
00:53:58listing of TRF
00:54:00in the United Nations,
00:54:02by the United Nations Security Council,
00:54:04by the Sanctions Committee,
00:54:05UNSC 1267 Sanctions Committee.
00:54:09I'm not privy to what was shared
00:54:13two hours back,
00:54:15but for sure,
00:54:16we'll update you
00:54:16on as to how the investigation progresses
00:54:19in this matter.
00:54:22Mega on UNSC 1267 Sanctions Committee.
00:54:27Yes,
00:54:28over the last two years or so,
00:54:3123, 24,
00:54:32we have been sharing information
00:54:34with the United Nations Security Council,
00:54:37the monitoring team
00:54:38of the Sanctions Committee
00:54:41as to why
00:54:43the terrorist TRF,
00:54:47which is the front for Lashkar-e-Taiba,
00:54:49should be listed
00:54:50as a terrorist entity.
00:54:52We will be also,
00:54:53in a few days' time,
00:54:55we will be sharing more details
00:54:56in this regard,
00:54:57and hopefully,
00:54:58Security Council 1267 monitoring team
00:55:02will take strong note
00:55:05of what we present,
00:55:07what we file,
00:55:08and take due action
00:55:09against that is required.
00:55:15Rishabh,
00:55:16on your question
00:55:20regarding the interview
00:55:23that the Park foreign minister gave.
00:55:26In the last week,
00:55:28as a result of Operation Sindur,
00:55:32Pakistan has seen its terror centers
00:55:34in Bahawalpur,
00:55:35Murudke,
00:55:37Muzaffrabad,
00:55:38and other places destroyed.
00:55:42You have been informed of it
00:55:44in several of the briefings
00:55:45that we've had.
00:55:47Thereafter,
00:55:48its military capabilities
00:55:49were significantly degraded
00:55:51by us,
00:55:52and key air bases
00:55:53effectively put out of action.
00:55:56If the Pakistani FM wishes
00:55:59to project these as achievement,
00:56:02obviously,
00:56:03he is welcome to do so.
00:56:04Where India is concerned,
00:56:07our stand was very clear
00:56:08and consistent from the start.
00:56:09we would target terrorist infrastructure
00:56:14operating out of Pakistan.
00:56:17If the Pakistani military stayed out,
00:56:19there would be no problem.
00:56:21If they fired on us,
00:56:22we would respond suitably.
00:56:25Till the night of 9th May,
00:56:29Pakistan was threatening India
00:56:31with a massive assault.
00:56:34Once their attempt
00:56:35failed on 10th May morning,
00:56:39and they received
00:56:40a devastating Indian
00:56:41counter-response,
00:56:43their tune changed.
00:56:46And their DGMO
00:56:47eventually
00:56:48reached out to us.
00:56:50I've made,
00:56:51I just referred to
00:56:52the timings, etc.,
00:56:53as to when they reached out.
00:56:55In essence,
00:56:56India's position
00:56:56remained the same.
00:56:59Pakistan's position
00:57:00changed on 10th May morning
00:57:02after its air bases
00:57:04were effectively
00:57:05put out of action.
00:57:08All you have to do
00:57:10is to look at
00:57:11who called who
00:57:12to negotiate
00:57:14the terms
00:57:15of the cessation of firing.
00:57:18By the way,
00:57:19you know,
00:57:19we are living
00:57:19in a day and age
00:57:21where
00:57:21you have
00:57:23satellite pictures
00:57:25available commercially.
00:57:28I urge you
00:57:29to look at
00:57:29the satellite pictures
00:57:31of the sites
00:57:32which Pakistan
00:57:33says
00:57:34or claims
00:57:35to have attacked
00:57:36in India.
00:57:38Contrast it
00:57:38with the sites
00:57:39and places
00:57:40which
00:57:41we successfully
00:57:43targeted
00:57:43and destroyed.
00:57:45That will give you
00:57:46a clear answer.
00:57:48You know,
00:57:48claiming victory
00:57:48is an old habit.
00:57:51In 1975
00:57:51was this
00:57:52and in 1975
00:57:53was this
00:57:54and in 1975
00:57:54was this
00:57:55and in 1999
00:57:56in Kargil
00:57:57Ball
00:57:57was this
00:57:57root of
00:57:58the site.
00:57:58Rishabh, you also had a question regarding
00:58:16on that
00:58:22I think
00:58:28there are two three things there you know there's talk of some we saw some social media
00:58:40post about Egyptian American aircraft etc but those those questions are for them to answer
00:58:47not for us but on the nuclear we in the defense briefing if you remember our side made things
00:58:55very clear as to you know what was a target etc as far as the your particular question
00:59:01I think the Park foreign minister also has made some comments on that
00:59:06Manas
00:59:10about the nuclear issue that you pointed out see the military action from our side was entirely
00:59:24in the conventional domain this was also made very clear in the defense briefing yesterday
00:59:30there were some questions also which were asked there were some reports however that Pakistan
00:59:35national command authority will meet on 10th May which we saw but this was later denied
00:59:41by them Pakistan FM has himself denied the nuclear angle on record so Rishabh that also answers
00:59:49your question as you know India has a firm stance that will that it will not give in to nuclear
00:59:56blackmail or allow crossword terrorism to be conducted invoking it in conversations with various countries
01:00:04we've also cautioned that they're subscribing to such scenarios could hurt them in their own region
01:00:10in their own region
01:00:17you take more questions
01:00:21okay
01:00:25very
01:00:29good evening sir
01:00:32just a clarification Secretary Baku Rubio tweeted that India and Pakistan had agreed to ceasefire as well as start
01:00:37talks on a broad range of issues at a neutral side so would it be possible to get a clarification on this if we agreed to that
01:00:44answer the second question is about India US trade talks India has formally notified the WTO proposing retaliatory tariffs against select US imports over Washington's tariffs on steel and aluminum imports would it be possible to get a clarification on this and does it affect India's negotiating position vis-à-vis the bilateral trade agreement?
01:01:04Thank you
01:01:07Thank you
01:01:11Okay, Smita
01:01:13Smita Sharma here
01:01:14I mean you know the US State Department actually in the press statement of 10th May it was in bold and headline that mentioned US brokered ceasefire between India and Pakistan
01:01:23Pakistan
01:01:24I'm just trying to understand if New Delhi actually rejected it outrightly raise it with Washington DC then that this framing was incorrect
01:01:32or is it only now that India is making it clear that there was no US role in it
01:01:37and just a quick question on whether there's any update on PK Sahu the BSF constable who has been in Pakistan captivity for more than 20 days now
01:01:45or he's been arrested there because he never been crossed
01:01:48Yes sir
01:01:49Swazri
01:01:50Mr. Jaisimal this is Sahasni Heather from the Hindu
01:01:55In continuation to Smita's question about whether India has raised with the US
01:02:01these clearly what you are calling false statements made by US President Donald Trump that India did not broker
01:02:08the US did not broker a ceasefire the trade was not discussed these are all things that have been said now on the record
01:02:14in camera so have you raised this at any level
01:02:18and similarly yesterday at the MOD briefing we heard them speak about the Chinese equipment hardware support to Pakistan
01:02:31I wanted to ask if this is something that is going to be taken up with China in terms of India and China's own bilateral relationship
01:02:39so both of them are these two things going to have any impact on India's relations with either the US or China
01:02:46Sir Neeraj
01:02:51Sir Neeraj on New Jet in India
01:02:56Sir Neeraj on New Jet in India
01:02:58Sir Neeraj on New Jet in India
01:02:59you have said that after some American military military
01:03:02which was being carried out in India in that time
01:03:05Pradhan Mantri Naren Modi
01:03:07Because, progress of the media here comes the reputation of India
01:03:10which was on the real peace of India
01:03:34Okay, first regarding your question about Secretary Rubio's comments, on that I've
01:03:43already spoken, I've told you how the understanding between India and Pakistan was biologically
01:03:50reached and what was the conversation that we had with other countries.
01:03:56On trade matters, I do understand that there is a proposal which has been made in Geneva.
01:04:02It has been made very recently, so I don't have further details on that, but for sure
01:04:07we'll update you with the matter as we progress with those negotiations.
01:04:13Smita, again, I've already answered those questions of yours when I talked about the
01:04:23question of ceasefire as to who decided, what were the terms, when it happened, etc.
01:04:28So I would urge you to look at those comments of mine.
01:04:34I already have told you that we have conveyed our position, I conveyed our position here
01:04:38on record, so I will request you to look at that.
01:04:43On the matter of PK Sahu, I don't have an update, so possibly we'll get you an update, but these
01:04:48are matters which pertain to the Ministry of Defence and they're looking into it.
01:04:55Again, Suhasini, on ceasefire, I've made India's position very clear, where we stand.
01:05:02So I would urge you to look at my comments.
01:05:04On the other question that you had, and possibly it had come up in the conversation of the press
01:05:10conference yesterday, there we have, I would say that we have obviously taken note of this.
01:05:20I direct your attention to the comments in the defence briefing about the extent of their
01:05:25effectiveness or otherwise.
01:05:34the ban on the awami league without due process is a concerning development.
01:05:35The ban on the awami league without due process is a concerning development.
01:05:41As a democracy, India is naturally concerned at the containment of democratic immigration.
01:05:42The ban on the awami league without due process is a concerning development.
01:05:56The ban on the Avami League without due process is a concerning development.
01:06:03As a democracy, India is naturally concerned at containment of democratic freedoms and shrinking political space.
01:06:16We strongly support the early holding of free, fair and inclusive elections in Bangladesh.
01:06:23Live briefing there by the MEA spokesperson, several big takeaways where clearly he's mentioned as far as the question over America's role is concerned.
01:06:51He said there was no mention of trade with America and clearly ceasefire happened because Pakistan initiated it.
01:06:58He's reiterated India's stand that there is no question of a third party intervention on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.
