Srinagar, May 13 (ANI): Srinagar Airport has reopened for civil operations following the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan on May 13. The move comes as a major relief for travellers after days of suspension. The airport reopening not only welcomed tourists but also restored livelihoods for local taxi drivers. Earlier, in the wake of India, Pak tension post Op Sindoor, AAI temporarily closed 32 airports in Northern, Western India to civil flights. Airports Authority of India (AAI) and aviation authorities issued a series of notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) announcing the closure. The NOTAM was effective from May 9, 2025, to May 14, 2025(which corresponds to 0529 IST on 15th May 2025), due to operational reasons. However, the temporary closure of 32 airports was lifted with immediate effect by AAI on May 12. Now, the J&K’s Srinagar airport finally reopened and resumed civil operations bringing relief to the travellers. The reopening follows a peaceful night along the LoC on May 11-12, the first calm after intense Pak retaliation to Operation Sindoor.
