During the FEINDEF'25 International Defense Exhibition held in Madrid, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) showcased for the first time a full-scale mock-up of the HÜRJET jet trainer and light attack aircraft painted in the colors of the Spanish Air Force. The initiative marks a new chapter in bilateral defense industry relations between Turkey and Spain.

The Spanish Air Force plans to replace its aging Northrop SF-5M (AE.9) aircraft with a modern jet training platform. In the selection process, the HÜRJET has been evaluated alongside competitors such as the Boeing T-7, KAI T-50, and Leonardo M-346. According to industry sources, the Turkish jet is considered the leading candidate for Spain’s training fleet renewal.
