00:20But there are ways to protect your home from wildfires, by building or renovating with
00:24fire resistant materials such as asphalt shingles on the roof or fiber cement on the walls, installing
00:32dual paned windows with tempered glass, protecting chimneys and vents with metal mesh.
00:40It is crucial to clear out gutters on the roof and remove any overhanging branches.
00:45Remove flammable materials and vegetation from within a 1.5 meter buffer zone around the house.
00:53Fire resistant species beyond the buffer zone.
00:59And keep a distance of at least 3 meters between treetops and remove all branches up to a height
