00:00Hi.
00:00Hi.
00:01I'm sorry, it's been a week.
00:04Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:05And today, we're counting down our picks for the most high-profile legal cases
00:09involving celebrities that have already dominated the news cycle in 2025.
00:13The woman is also heard saying her lawyer put her up to suing one of the world's most recognizable stars.
00:19Number 10, Elon Musk.
00:21To say the world's richest man has had an eventful 2025 would be an understatement.
00:26You know, they say I wear a lot of hats.
00:27And as you can see, it's true.
00:30Even my hat has a hat.
00:33In the first four months alone, he made headlines for a controversial salute,
00:37entangled himself in the government, and laid off thousands of federal employees.
00:41My heart goes out to you.
00:44It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured.
00:49These major stories may have eclipsed the news that Musk had supposedly fathered yet another child.
00:54In February, conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair filed a lawsuit
00:59seeking legal recognition of Musk as her son's father and requesting sole custody.
01:03That the billionaire, quote, has met him only three times since the baby's birth in September of 2024,
01:09and, quote, has had no involvement in his care and upbringing.
01:12She alleged that Musk had refused a paternity test and drastically reduced child support after she defied his demands.
01:19In response, Musk stated on Twitter that although he was uncertain about his paternity,
01:24a court order was unnecessary to compel him to take the test.
01:28If St. Clair's claims are true, Musk is now the father of 13 children with four different women.
01:33Number 9. Taylor Swift
01:35It seems Florida-based poet Kimberly Marasco has entered the ranks of the tortured poets department.
01:41Marasco first made the news in 2024 when she sued Taylor Swift for copyright infringement,
01:46but the case was dismissed after she failed to serve the singer with legal papers.
01:49Judge Eileen Cannon actually removed Swift personally from the case
01:53because Marasco never properly served her with the lawsuit.
01:57But Swift's production team is still fighting the lawsuit in court.
02:00Undeterred, the poet filed another lawsuit in 2025,
02:04claiming that Swift and her collaborators borrowed from her work to create songs on Lover,
02:08Folklore, Midnight's, and the Tortured Poets department.
02:11She is now seeking around $30 million in damages.
02:14Even if Marasco had a case, which they say she doesn't, she just waited too long to file it.
02:20Copyright claims in Florida have to be filed within three years of discovering the problem.
02:25However, Marasco seems to be facing the same hurdle,
02:28as she has successfully served all parties except Swift.
02:32Is the singer dodging the paperwork because she's guilty as sin?
02:35Guess we'll only find out if Marasco ever gets a hold of her.
02:38Without ever touching his skin, how can I be guilty as sin?
02:46Number 8. Chris Brown
02:47Chris Brown's reputation was permanently altered in 2009 after reports emerged
02:52that he had physically assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
02:54He's driving, punching her with his right fist as he drives with his left hand.
03:02And this goes on for blocks.
03:04Since that incident, he has faced multiple allegations of physical and sexual assault,
03:08although none has ever led to a conviction.
03:11Nevertheless, in October 2024, a documentary titled Chris Brown, A History of Violence was released,
03:17which revisited many of these claims.
03:19One of the most prominent allegations came from an unnamed woman who accused Brown of sexually assaulting her
03:24at a party on Sean Diddy Combs' yacht in 2020.
03:27If you came to Vegas, you probably came to my room and was too ugly to get in.
03:31So the message is that somehow you have no value or any worse to me if you're somehow not attracted.
03:38In response, Brown filed a $500 million lawsuit against the film's production company,
03:44Warner Brothers Discovery, in January 2025.
03:46The singer alleges that producers knew the woman's claims were false, but included them anyway.
03:52Brown alleges the doc's claims took a toll on his income, leading to the nine-figure monetary demand,
03:59which he says part of which will be donated to survivors of sexual abuse.
04:04Number 7. Nick Carter
04:05Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter is no stranger to sexual assault allegations.
04:09Prior to 2025, he was already battling lawsuits from three women, including former Dream singer Melissa Schumann.
04:16And then he puts me up on the counter, and then I can feel him, you know, unbuttoning my pants,
04:21and I stop him, and I go, I don't want to go any further.
04:24In April, a fourth woman, Laura Penley, sued Carter,
04:28accusing him of sexually assaulting her twice in 2005 while they were in a relationship.
04:32According to Penley, Carter refused to use protection and infected her with multiple sexually transmitted diseases, including HPV.
04:40She claims that this led to her developing stage 2 cervical cancer a few months later.
04:44During this time, she alleges that she asked Carter to wear a condom, but he refused, claiming he was, quote,
04:51clean from STDs.
04:52Carter denied Penley's allegations, dismissing them as, quote,
04:56more of the same nonsense.
04:57He further asserted that not only did he never have a romantic relationship with Penley,
05:02but he had never even met her at all.
05:04Carter denies all of Penley's allegations, saying,
05:07This is just more of the same nonsense from the gang of conspirators and their lawyers
05:11who continue to abuse the justice system to try to ruin Nick Carter.
05:15Number 6.
05:16Mariano and Clara Rivera
05:17A Hall of Fame pitcher for the Yankees, Mariano Rivera retired from baseball in 2013,
05:23after which he became a pastor at the Refuge of Hope Church.
05:26You know, yes, come from a small fishing town in Panama,
05:30come to be part of the New York Yankees.
05:32After that, come to New Rochelle and open this tremendous church.
05:36It's amazing.
05:36In January 2025, a woman filed a lawsuit accusing Rivera and his wife Clara of being negligent
05:42and attempting to cover up the sexual assault of her daughter.
05:45The suit claims that Clara persuaded the mother to let her daughter attend a church-affiliated
05:49internship in Florida.
05:51There, the girl was allegedly assaulted by an older camper.
05:54Court documents report that the church paid for the young girl to attend a summer internship
05:58at a camp in Florida and alleged that she stayed in a dorm with other children without
06:03parental supervision.
06:04After learning of this incident, the Riveras allegedly traveled to the camp and pressured
06:08the girl to remain silent.
06:10The lawsuit also alleges that the girl was later assaulted by the same individual at the
06:14Rivera's home in New York and by a church employee years later.
06:18According to the lawsuit, the girl was sexually assaulted again, but at a church in 2021 and
06:222022 by an adult son of an associated pastor.
06:26That's when the girl and her mother filed police reports.
06:28Number 5.
06:29Jay-Z
06:29In December 2024, Jay-Z got drawn into the ever-growing legal case against disgraced rapper
06:35Sean Diddy Combs.
06:37An anonymous woman filed a civil lawsuit alleging that Jay-Z and Combs sexually assaulted her
06:41at a VMA's afterparty in 2000.
06:43I stumbled upon Diddy's driver who told me that I was exactly what Diddy was looking
06:48for.
06:49What did you think when he said that to you?
06:52I thought it meant that I was just pretty.
06:54Jay-Z denied the accusations, labeling them a smear campaign and an act of blackmail.
06:59After several inconsistencies were pointed out in the woman's story, she suddenly dropped
07:04the case without explanation.
07:06In March 2025, Jay-Z responded by suing her and her lawyers for malicious prosecution, abuse
07:12of process, and civil conspiracy.
07:14It's tough to hear a false lie said about you, spread through the internet, and affecting
07:20your children.
07:21It's tough on him.
07:22It's tough on anybody.
07:22He also filed a separate defamation suit against the accuser, claiming that her allegations
07:27were knowingly false and aimed at extortion.
07:30According to his lawsuit, the accusations damaged his personal and professional reputation,
07:35resulting in losses exceeding $20 million.
07:37The truth had to fully come out.
07:40This person cannot be allowed to sort of hide from the reality that this was a false accusation.
07:46Number four, Shannon Sharp.
07:48Former NFL star and media personality Shannon Sharp found himself at the center of an escalating
07:53controversy following a lawsuit filed against him in April 2025.
07:56The plaintiff, 20-year-old OnlyFans model Gabrielle Zuniga, accused Sharp of sexual assault,
08:11battery, and infliction of emotional distress.
08:14As a result, Zuniga sought over $50 million in compensatory and punitive damages.
08:19Sharp's response came in the form of a video, which he posted on Instagram, denying all accusations
08:24and dismissing them as a money grab.
08:26Coordinated by Gabby, also known as Carly, on OnlyFans.
08:31Gabby and Tony Busby want $50 million.
08:33What they're getting is sued for defamation and trying to take me down.
08:38My career is all about real talk and honesty.
08:40However, through his lawyer, Sharp later acknowledged that he had previously offered
08:44Zuniga a $10 million settlement.
08:47Just days after the lawsuit became public, Sharp announced he would step down from his role
08:51at ESPN to focus on defending himself.
08:53I will be devoting this time to my family and responding and dealing with these false
08:58and disruptive allegations set against me.
09:01I plan to return to ESPN at the start of the NFL preseason.
09:04Number 3.
09:05Drake
09:06The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar was cranked up several notches in the summer of 2024,
09:11when both rappers released a series of diss tracks against each other.
09:14We already know it's a 20v1, we already know why you went number one, it's clearly because
09:19of the boy.
09:20The honorable thing is to give me the loop.
09:22Undeniably, the most prominent was Lamar's Not Like Us, which topped the charts globally
09:26and won five Grammys.
09:28The track contains lyrics which seemed to accuse Drake of sexual misconduct, which he took particular
09:33offense to.
09:34Say Drake, I hear you like I'm young.
09:36You better not ever go to cell block one.
09:38In January 2025, Drake sued Universal Music Group, the label he and Lamar share, accusing
09:44them of conspiring to promote the track despite the, quote, false factual allegation.
09:49Then, after Lamar performed the song at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show, Drake expanded
09:54his lawsuit, claiming that the widely watched event further defamed him and led to increased
09:58threats against him and his family.
10:00Why you showin' like a, ain't you tired?
10:02Tryna strike a chord and it's probably a minor.
10:05Number 2.
10:06Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni
10:08You want to go somewhere more private?
10:11To talk?
10:15To talk.
10:17In 2024, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni starred in It Ends With Us, but that was just the beginning
10:23of a lengthy legal and PR firestorm.
10:26That December, the New York Times reported that Lively had accused Baldoni of sexual harassment
10:30during production.
10:31In response, Baldoni sued the publication for $250 million, which led Lively to upgrade
10:38her complaint against him to a federal lawsuit.
10:40Baldoni's lawsuit calling the article rife with inaccuracies, misrepresentations, and omissions,
10:45relying on Lively's, quote, self-serving narrative.
10:48In January 2025, Baldoni countersued Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist for
10:54$400 million, alleging extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy.
10:59This case has since dragged in other celebrities who weren't directly involved, most notably
11:04Taylor Swift.
11:05While the trial is set for March 2026, the court of public opinion has pretty much reached
11:10a verdict already, with fans firmly taking sides.
11:13In which he says, hold on a second, it wasn't me orchestrating a smear campaign against Lively,
11:20it was actually Blake Lively, her husband, her PR team, coming at me because we had creative
11:26differences over the film.

11:42Number 1.
11:45Sean Diddy Combs
11:46It all began in November 2023 when singer Cassie Ventura, a former partner of rapper
11:52Sean Diddy Combs, sued him for alleged physical and sexual assault.
11:56The lawsuit also claims that throughout their relationship, Mr. Combs was prone to uncontrollable
12:01rage and frequently beat Miss Ventura savagely.
12:05Although Combs denied her claims, he quickly settled the case.
12:08Soon after, the floodgates of accusations were opened.
12:11Several men and women who had crossed paths with Combs in the past filed new lawsuits,
12:16making similar allegations.
12:17These allegations took place starting in 1991, span all the way up over two decades.
12:26In September 2024, Combs was indicted by a jury and arrested on charges of sex trafficking
12:32and racketeering.
12:33Prosecutors claim that he operated a criminal enterprise that enabled sexual exploitation through
12:38violence and blackmail.
12:39The indictment alleges that he maintained control over the victims in several ways, including
12:43by giving them drugs, by giving and threatening to take away financial support or housing.
12:50They also alleged that he organized so-called freak-off parties, where victims were coerced
12:54into sex acts, some of which were secretly recorded.
12:58Combs has pleaded not guilty, but if convicted, he faces 15 years to life in prison.
13:03Terms were not disclosed, but prosecutors did say a plea could result in a shorter sentence
13:08for Combs than if he's convicted.
13:10Are you keeping up with any of these celebrity lawsuits?
13:12Which outcome are you most eager to see?
