00:00Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.

00:03In the aftermath of the cowardly attacks

00:05on innocent tourists at Pahlgham in Jammu and Kashmir

00:09by Pakistani-sponsored terrorists on 22nd April,

00:13the Indian Navy's carrier battle group,

00:16surface forces, submarines, and aviation assets

00:19were immediately deployed at sea with full combat readiness

00:24in concert with the Joint Operation Plan

00:28of the Indian Defense Forces.

00:30You may be aware that we tested and refined tactics

00:34and procedures at sea during multiple weapon firings

00:38in the Arabian Sea within 96 hours of the terrorist attack.

00:44The aim was to revalidate our crew, armament, equipment,

00:50and platform readiness to deliver various ordnance

00:54on selected targets precisely.

00:57Thereafter, our forces remained forward deployed

01:01in the Northern Arabian Sea in a decisive and deterrent posture

01:06with full readiness and capacity to strike select targets

01:11at sea and on land, including Karachi,

01:16at time of our choosing.

01:19The forward deployment of the Indian Navy compelled Pakistani naval

01:25and air units to be in a defensive posture mostly inside harbors

01:30or very close to the coast which we monitored continuously.

01:35The Indian Navy maintained seamless maritime domain awareness

01:40throughout the duration and was entirely aware of the location

01:45and movement of Pakistani units.

01:48In effect, we had and continue to have good battlespace transparency

01:56using our maritime domain awareness grid.

02:00As you are aware, our response has been measured, proportionate,

02:07non-escalatory, and responsible from day one.

02:10Accordingly, the calibrated approach considered all options,

02:17including the ability of the Indian Navy for offensive action from and at sea.

02:25As part of this escalation control mechanism,

02:28the application of force by the Navy was planned in a synchronized manner

02:34in coordination with the Army and Air Force,

02:37the highlight being teams from the three services working closely

02:41in an integrated manner.

02:44Along with the kinetic actions by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force,

02:49the overwhelming operational edge of Indian Navy at sea contributed towards

02:56Pakistan's urgent request for a ceasefire yesterday.

03:02As we speak, Indian Navy remains deployed at sea in a credible deterrent posture

03:09to respond decisively to any inimical action by Pakistan or Pakistan-based terrorists.
