00:00...as turn...
00:03...gates drop, clean gates as well...
00:07Coonan, thought he was going to come across but Roman Fevre for the second time today
00:12with a foxhole shot, it's a lot cleaner and tidier down into turn two
00:15everybody ripping through there this time around, unlike race one
00:18Flandron there in second, Seewer in third
00:20Coonan in fourth, in white and grey to the inside
00:24Fernandes around the outside, he's in around about fifth place
00:27and he's going bar-to-bar with the young Belgian teenager
00:32and it's going to be Fernandes who tries to hustle his way down the inside of Seewer
00:36oh but Coonan goes around the outside of both of them, he moves into third place
00:40audacious riding that from the number 96
00:48there's 959, Maxime Renault
00:52he's in sixth, Guadagnini seven, here it's in eighth place
00:55Hurling's in 13th
00:58Koldenov buried in 20th position
01:00problems there for Seewer on the exit of the turn
01:05at Roman Fevre with another hole shot
01:08somebody down there in the background looked like it might have been a Yamaha
01:11and it was Maxime Renault, Renault out of fifth place
01:21did not lead that, that's going to scupper his potential podium chances
01:28still right at the very beginning of the race
01:30in the race hole but where has he re-emerged
01:32Jeremy Seewer fighting that Ducati just like he did in race one
01:38oh Renault down in 14th
01:42did not need that but you can see how much more open this race track is compared to race one
01:50should get some better racing and a lot more action as well
01:53over the line then Fevre two seconds clear at the moment
01:57Volana in second Kuhn and third Fernandez in red and yellow there
02:00in fourth on the number 70 Honda lead rider in shot coming towards us
02:04behind him Jeremy Seewer on that Aruba.it
02:07Ducati 450 Desmo
02:10then Guadagnini's teammate is behind him in sixth place
02:12then Keirz Jonas and Panza
02:14Bonacorsi in tenth just ahead of Herlings then Horgmo and Watson on that beta
02:22the MRT racing beta
02:28I know it's only the end of the first lap but that's how your podium would look at the moment
02:32if you threw the flag out now Fevre, Kunin, Fernandez
02:37Fernandez battling hard he knows he's got a shot of being on the podium
02:45there's some gnarly braking bumps now on this racetrack
02:48deep jaggedy ruts as well that the riders are having to deal with
02:57working their way downhill once again bottom end of the circuit
03:00turn nine Fevre is down your race leader
03:03and the fans are up because the Spaniard goes through
03:06he goes through in third place but Philandren now leads
03:09Jonas not too kind to let his teammate buy either
03:15and Fevre will go through in eighth place at that last intermediate sector
03:21a costly mistake for the championship leader
03:23and Lucas Kunin will now take this with both hands
03:26he had the opportunity in the qualifying race to do something about it
03:30and he scuppered that opportunity wow
03:32chucks it down the inside of Calvin Ballander and takes over the lead at the end of the lap
03:39talk about commitment
03:46can he run away with this one now then
03:48I was talking to somebody before the race started
03:55and the way that Lucas rode in that first race he didn't look his normal self
03:59it was kind of almost like a yeah that three in a row might go begging
04:03well it depends on what happens at the start depends what happens in the race
04:08watch this here does he get cross rutted
04:14well he must have done great shot that by the way that was a better one
04:27Lucas Kunin had the fastest lap of the race on that opening lap
04:29although it's the only opening lap but he had to dig deep but it was 147.4
04:3649 for uh for Landren 48 for the next three guys around him
04:42that first lap was intense for the number 96 as Fevre going after Iago Kietz
04:49they go bar to bar side by side Fevre now leaps up in the sixth position
04:55kicking himself that he's thrown away that race lead
04:58so early on in the race
05:07next rider in his hit list Mattia Guadagnini there the 101 just going
05:10through in red and white on the Ducati the second of the Ducati's
05:13his teammate is ahead of him Jeremy C were in fourth place
05:21working that way uphill into the final turn
05:23Kunin already over the line he's gone even quicker one minute 45.403
05:28he's already 1.8 seconds clear of Calvin Vallandran
05:32the Belgian eyeing up the top step of the podium as it stands right now
05:36with 43 points Fernandez and Fevre tied on 40
05:41Fevre knows though that he still has an opportunity to win the Grand Prix here
05:46for the first time as the championship leader this year
05:50two Ducati's ahead of him
05:51but with 24 minutes plus two laps to go this one could go any which way
05:56Fevre though with a lot of work to do if he is to win the overall here in Spain
06:00Fevre finally gets his move and makes it stick down the inside of Guadagnini moves up in the fifth position
06:16clear track ahead of him he's got Jeremy Siwa about a second further up the track and then or maybe even two seconds further up the track
06:28and then he's kind of in the big league then with Fernandez and Vellana and Kunin
06:35he was maybe pushing too hard at the start of the race who knows only he can answer that for us
06:39see that dry line emerging through the middle of the wave section
06:50Siwa
06:52is doing his best to stay ahead of the Kawasaki rider Lisa Laylin is down in pit lane getting ready to talk to Kawasaki racing teams
06:59team manager Antti Piranen
07:03who I'm sure is a little annoyed at that mistake over to you Lisa
07:06Antti Piranen we saw Roman Fevre take another foxhole shot leading the way
07:12he made a costly mistake he's starting to make inland inroads will he be able to regroup
07:18and get that overall victory that he wants so bad yeah yeah for sure he will try everything he can
07:22you know the tracks very unpredictable so tricky so main thing is to yeah still keep calm you know and
07:31and uh but I think he can come back he's only two points off the overall victory as it stands
07:37yeah let's see it's a long moto but uh yeah I think he can do it let's see
07:41that's like 13 thank you
07:47Roman Fevre continues to push on there
07:51a little bit deep in that bottom right hand turn turn four
07:54still trying to latch on to Jeremy Seawer Seawer making it very difficult for the
07:59number three as it stands right now Lucas Coonan banging in fastest lap after fastest lap
08:04as he goes 2.8 seconds clear of Verlanderen at the moment Verlanderen fourth overall is going to
08:10be where he ends up he's been eighth overall the last two rounds best finishes of the year for him
08:14so to be inside the top five maybe knocking on the door for a podium who knows how this one will show
08:20up but and play out Verlanderen fourth overall at the moment here comes Fevre that was nice from Seawer
08:36River Fernandez coming towards us on the number 17 Jeremy Seawer in fourth place looking over his
08:42shoulder because here comes Roman Fevre trying to rectify the mistake that put him down from first to
08:48eighth Fevre now in the fifth place going after the Ducati of the Swiss rider Jeremy Seawer who got on
08:54the podium two weeks ago in Switzerland at his home round third overall don't forget on what was a
08:59historic day for Ducati for Seawer as well his first podium in MXGP at home
09:08but that will seem like a distant memory now for the number 91 Roman Fevre all he knows he can do as
09:14well on that number three Kawasaki the second rider in shot currently in fifth in this race he's going
09:20to win the Grand Prix he needs a couple more passes because uh as it stands right now 25 points for a
09:26race win that's 22 18 16 15
09:33he'll need two passes because Lucas Kunin leads the way and leads the overall Grand Prix classification
09:39and this race is already nine seconds quicker than it was in a race one in terms of lap time Lucas Kunin
09:501 44.4.4 Yago kids final turn buries the front
09:58manages to stay up on two wheels
10:00replay of the start Roman Fevre was electric again over on the far side
10:12another foxhole shot for the number three but look at Valandra look at the 91 in red of Seawer
10:18the 96 of Kunin and the 70 of Fernandez getting good drive there center of your shot
10:24couldn't get across didn't have that much of an advantage Jonah stayed up this time as he crept around the
10:31inside look at the movement on the bikes those holes are brutal
10:37just over 19 minutes plus two laps remain in this second MXGP race
10:52Jeremy Seawer 91 on the Ducati the red machine
10:55messes up coming out of that turn Fevre controls the inside going through turn one
11:01Seawer read it like a book and he responds regains that fourth position going through turn two
11:07back to the drawing board for Fevre he's two points off the top step of the podium at the moment
11:20Seawer's pass will not be enough that will only tie him for the overall grand prix victory
11:29so he's going to have to keep digging keep plugging away
11:31Fernandez is a little bit further up the track isn't he another two and a half seconds there about just
11:39saw him going out of shot there
11:44big question is how rattled is Roman Fevre after making that mistake simple mistake
11:50let's see we're there just undercutting too much he looked across Fevre looked across
12:03Fevre thought he made the pass stick he was hoping to have made the pass stick and go after
12:07the 17th of Ruben Fernandez because that's the pass he needs to win the grand prix
12:13easier said than done Ruben Fernandez is looking at third overall at the moment on 40 points two third place finishes
12:30working our way towards the end of lap six see we're still there hanging on to that fourth place Fevre in fifth
12:36and then there's can't really well I was gonna say can't really afford to lose another position
12:45but the guys ahead of him battling for first and second in the overall grand prix are Coonan and Fevre
12:50Coonan will either be first or second
12:55as you as it stands right now Fevre has been eyeing this up for the last couple of laps again
12:59not close enough but he shows the wheel to see what and he gets the drive as well
13:04oh they were very tight there in the air weren't they Fevre now up into fourth
13:19the gap between him and Fernandez 1.9 seconds that's the Spaniard disappearing out of sight
13:24around turn six dropping down into turn seven and you can already see the ground that Fevre is making
13:30up on the Spaniard this is the corner that he fell in in the qualifying race yesterday whilst leading
13:36the costume pole position
13:37see we're battling on that Ducati just needs to get out of here with a good solid result just to put him in a good mind space ahead of the French Grand Prix two weeks from now
13:58Fernandez battered and bruised after his first turn crash in the qualifying race and then
14:06other moments during that race he's done fantastically well to turn things around for race day
14:11right Bonacorsi and Jonas these two fighting over seventh place the Kawasaki and the Fantic
14:19Bonacorsi had the biggest fall in turn one though in the qualifying race yesterday when he touched his
14:25front tire onto the rear wheel of Jeremy Siwa and that was like jamming on the brake at full speed
14:32the front wheel locked up immediately he went over the handlebars bike followed him into the ground right between the shoulder blades
14:39so even for Bonacorsi to pick himself up finish six in race one he's currently eighth in race two to come
14:46away from here potentially sixth overall that is a great recovery for the big italian but with 15 minutes
14:52plus two laps to go it's still Lucas Coonan in control at the head of the race but Fevre eyeing up Fernandez
14:59for the top step of the podium
15:07Oh
15:11Lisa Leiland is down I was just going to say Lisa Leiland did that come out loose
15:15and that was only because the back end got loose on Coonan's machine Lisa Leiland is with Dekali
15:22yeah I'm just with Davide Dekali at the moment we've got Lucas Coonan at the head of the field there's
15:27nothing more he can do now to try and get the overall victory it all depends on Roman Fevre
15:31near miss there that we just saw he is pushing isn't it yeah yeah of course he's pushing he wants
15:37to win at the moment he can do more yeah he needs to keep riding like this which is uh he's riding
15:43really good and the track is really really tricky so hope he can finish like this what was Lucas's
15:48feedback after that first race I mean it was a good solid result but he didn't quite seem his usual
15:53explosive self that we've seen of late yeah I mean um the track was always different uh yesterday was
16:00different today first model was different was muddy so um it didn't felt really comfortable with uh with
16:06the track uh so now we we changed a few things uh and looks like it's working really well also now the
16:13start was better so hope we can finish like this that's like 13 thank you
16:21Roman Fevre closing in on Ruben Fernandez here this is the third place in the race doesn't change
16:27the third overall for Ruben Fernandez in the Grand Prix but it does determine the outcome of the Grand
16:34Prix for Ruben for Roman Fevre if he finds his way past suspended he will stand on the top step of the
16:40the podium tries to launch it down the inside of the Honda rider but to no avail
16:53not the easiest place to make up time but somehow Roman Fevre is doing just that
16:59gaining ground on everybody that he comes up against
17:0213 minutes plus two laps remain then MXGP race two here the MXGP of Spain River Fernandez here in third
17:15for Honda HRC he's eyeing up his podium on home soil it'll be back to back podiums for the Spaniard as well
17:25having got on the third step a week ago in Portugal as home Grand Prix's go he's bang in the middle of
17:32where we were last week in Portugal just over the border and where we are this week in Spain so to get
17:37on the podium twice in successive weekends will be an absolute dream for him and for Honda HRC who are
17:44without their five-time world champion Tim Geiser who has just undergone shoulder surgery to repair that
17:50dislocated right shoulder Roman Fevre here in fourth place for Kawasaki racing team about one and a half
17:56seconds further back he needs the pass on Fernandez to stand on the top step of the podium because as
18:02it stands right now he and Lucas Kunin are tied at the top Kunin was fourth in race one he currently
18:09leads race two Fevre was your winner in race one he's currently fourth in race two if it stays like this
18:15it's the best result in the second race that determines the outcome and that is why Lucas Kunin is on top
18:23of the podium at the moment despite his point share with Roman Fevre here number three of France on that
18:29Kawasaki
18:3511 and a half minutes plus two laps to go remember Roman Fevre he led the way he fell from the lead down to
18:418th early on what lap two he's done well to get himself back into contention
18:59working their way back to the bottom end of the circuit Fernandez likes that outside inside doesn't he
19:05but Fevre if he was alongside him you sense that position will change hands in favor of the Frenchman
19:13but great to see Fernandez putting up a fight here hanging on to that third place
19:18riding in the colors of the national flag this weekend here's Jonas and Bonacorsi they're still
19:24wheel to wheel just ahead of the Mathieu Guadagnini in sixth place so sixth seventh and eighth pretty much
19:29on the same part of racetrack good performances from Guadagnini last weekend when he came back from injury
19:37the rib damage and he picked up when he crashed training earlier on in the year that caused him to
19:43sit down a couple of races they were kind of noticeable problems on a high-speed track but the wet weather the
19:51slowing down of the conditions meant that he didn't feel it so much and i think that's a similar situation for
19:58him today and this weekend as well tenth in race one currently six in race two Fevre having another
20:07look at the inside of Fernandez and this time he is close enough at the bottom of this hill to dive
20:13down the inside and all day long he was going to make that move just came in connected like he was on
20:18rails Roman Fevre now up in the third place and the top step of the podium for the Frenchman
20:28as Davide Ducali said in a pre-grid interview in the pit lane interview a few months ago nothing he
20:37could do Lucas Coonan he's at the front he can't do any more than that 25 points is where it's at for
20:43him but Roman Fevre coming through traffic oh a bit of a mistake there for the number 96 he was untidy
20:50coming out of that left-hand turn almost didn't make the jump
21:00launched his way up and over the triple he's about 9.8
21:05let's say 10 seconds if we want to be pedantic 10 seconds clear of Calvin Volander we haven't seen
21:10too much of Calvin Volander who's eyeing up fourth overall in the grand prix at the moment watch this here
21:15just has a bit of a snatch there lucky moment but he was able to back out of it
21:27anyway Volander 8.9 seconds further back he's out on his own at the moment 4.6 seconds clear Roman
21:33Fevre fevre lapping around about a second and a half quicker than the Yamaha man so
21:38Volander is in danger of being caught in the next eight and a half minutes plus two laps
21:47as Coonan chases dirt around the outside five race wins in his rookie season so far Lucas Coonan
21:54eyeing up his sixth race win on a Sunday as he looks to gain ground again ground that he lost to Fevre in
22:01race one the seven points that he lost of course he lost points in the qualifying race yesterday as well
22:08but he's definitely come out fighting in race two
22:19the gap between Fevre and Philandrin four seconds now
22:25as Philandrin comes under pressure from the Frenchman for that second place
22:30still nothing to separate Guadagnini on the Ducati here in white and red from Paul's Jonas on the
22:38Kawasaki the second of the Kawasaki's and then the fan tick of Andrea Bonacorsi
22:42who's team mates cold and off in 13th bogus and 14th seem to be struggling this time out
22:58patchy conditions as they come out from under the trees there Guadagnini caught out he goes down from
23:04sixth place three riders go by and Hurwitz makes sure he makes his path stick
23:15Guadagnini now in ninth place
23:22here's Philandrin the Monster Energy Yamaha rider
23:25still hovering two and a half seconds or so clear Roman Fevre but Fevre has him in his sights
23:37yes Hurling's going through now and Guadagnini Guadagnini down down in ninth
23:41Maxime Renault who went down on the opening lap
23:45whilst in fifth went down to 14th he's got himself back into 10th place
23:50oh another big hit for Guadagnini
23:57thrown down the track like a rag doll
24:03right in front and look at that airbag body armor deploy there doing its job watch this here
24:11rolls over all of a sudden finds himself with a bit of a cushion to land on
24:17but Guadagnini a simple crash and then a big crash and that front fender is absolutely
24:23hanging off the front of that machine he's now down in 15th place
24:32lucky to pick himself up and walk away and rejoin the track
24:36Guadagnini down in 17th now that one taking a bit of a hit
24:40five and a bit to go plus two laps and Lucas Kunen
24:48more than 11 seconds clear at Vallandrin at the moment he's eyeing up second overall in
24:53the Grand Prix depending on what happens to Roman Fevre
24:58because Fevre in the driving seat at the moment
25:00and the Frenchman now in third closing in on Vallandrin
25:09Calvin Vallandrin has had one top three race finish so far this year
25:15that was race one in Spain and the deep mud of Cozart
25:20he's had a couple of zeros and he's had a couple of fourths in there as well so
25:24second or third will be fine but he'll be hoping to hang on to that second
25:37so Roman Fevre continues to push then he's there in that third place
25:56Calvin Vallandrin digging deep to keep the Frenchman behind him
26:14but Calvin Vallandrin hanging on to that second position
26:17Fevre right there in third Fernandes fourth
26:29oh backhand dancing around on Fevre's machine as he eyes up Calvin Vallandrin
26:37look at the speed through the waves for Roman Fevre as he gets right onto the rear wheel
26:42at Vallandrin now Vallandrin in his best race position of the season has had a third so
26:51he will equal that if Fevre were to go through
26:54meanwhile Bonacorsi who found his way past Guadagnini when he fell
27:01he's latched onto the rear wheel of Jeffrey Hurlings here Hurlings currently circulating in eighth
27:07Hurlings actually has just found his way past the Italian moves up into seventh place
27:12I think the drone took one in the eye there didn't he
27:19Fevre down the inside of Vallandrin he moves in a second
27:25on lap 15
27:29and just keeps his head down
27:34he knows now he's a winning in a winning position he probably knew it already a lap or so ago
27:37come for Vallandrin no pick up the pace and try and go back after the Frenchman that's the question now
27:45isn't it just iron up different lines maybe switch things up to what he's been doing throughout the
27:51course of the race because you know with a couple of minutes plus two laps to go you're sitting there
27:54in second place and all of a sudden as he takes a bit of a rough ride down the hill
27:59just kind of gets under your skin a little bit that you've lost that second place so close to the end of
28:04the race
28:08but you also have to say that Roman Fevre is very much on the top of his game at the moment he's
28:12leading the championship he was a winner in race one for the third time this year and he's eyeing up
28:16the top step of the podium for the second time this year as well here this weekend
28:2015 laps complete Lucas Kunin 12 seconds over the line
28:30Kunin 12 seconds clear from Fevre who's now up in the second he's just found his way past
28:34Calvin Vallandrin Ruben Fernandez fourth he's still eyeing up the third step of the podium and he's got
28:38three or four points in hand as well in that respect
28:41Maxime Renault who is one and a half seconds behind Bonacorsi needs what four positions to even get on
28:50terms with Fernandez so for now Fernandez safe on that third step Lucas Kunin just going through the
28:57motions bit of a training run as was the case with Roman Fevre in race one where he could do no wrong
29:03this time around it's Lucas Kunin the Red Bull KTM rider in total control
29:11couldn't do much in the first race and it was very one line difficult to pass
29:16of course it was that line was just drying out so if you went offline
29:19you were probably going to be buried in a lot of deep mud
29:2313 seconds the gap between first and second place Roman Fevre here
29:29who threw away the lead went down to eighth place came back to second which is where he is at the moment
29:36his pass on room Fernandez to move into third a couple of laps ago
29:39was enough to be on the top step of the podium he's just cemented that by finding his way past
29:44Calvin Vallandrin the second rider in shot here the number 10 on that Monster Energy Yamaha
29:50Vallandrin is going to be fifth overall in the Grand Prix behind his teammate Maxime Renault
29:54he'll be on 34 Vallandrin on 33
29:57and for Vallandrin that'll be his best result of the season so far so a couple of eights
30:07Paul Jonas looks like he's just maybe recovered there
30:09he has he made a mistake didn't he did he go down or did he stall it oh it just tips over he was in sixth position
30:23and Maxime Renault goes by
30:26so too Jeffrey Hurlings and Bonacorsi so Hurlings now six Bonacorsi seven Renault eight Jonas down to ninth
30:32oh there's Kevin Horgmo in there didn't see too much of him in the first race either down in 16
30:48looking to go after the 41 here though isn't he
30:50and he does parks it down the inside of PJ PJ tried to get in and out of there early but the
31:00Norwegian
31:03blast by the Latvian and Horgmo now up into ninth
31:08right Maxime Renault here a little bit loose no that was how he found his way past PJ
31:22so we're into the final two laps
31:39Kudan already in the final sector here he is heading uphill get ready to take the one lap board
31:44and what will be his sixth race win in his rookie season don't forget finished second in the world
31:52championship in MX2 last year the one lap board goes out to the Belgian
32:00still throwing down that marker to let everybody know that he's here and he's here to take that title
32:08Renault having difficulties getting out of that deep run Kevin Horgmo closing in on him as they fight
32:12over eighth place
32:15drop in the clutch tries to get past the Frenchman who looks across and he does go by as well
32:25Renault tried to retaliate but the 24 moves up into eighth position
32:29and as they head into the final lap
32:40Horgmo
32:42just putting in a bit of a late charge he's two and a half seconds behind
32:46Bonacorsi wouldn't expect him to find his way past the Italian but you never know
32:51stranger things have happened
32:52you see the pace that he's got as he starts to pull clear of Renault here
33:03but Lucas Kunin once again half a lap to go 12 seconds clear of Romain Favre
33:09picks his way through some of those deep ruts takes his time because he can
33:18with a 12 and a half second advantage
33:20Lucas Kunin uphill for the final time
33:34what a race and what a turnaround from race one
33:37Lucas Kunin out of the final turn
33:45he wins race two it's not going to be enough to win the Grand Prix
