00:00The first quarter, Rakewood played really good footy. They beat us in the contest, outspread
00:08us on the outside, and the delivery inside 50 was elite. There was a lot of errors of
00:13our game and our system that weren't at the level they needed to be. It showed, and we
00:17knew coming in, that if we give them time and space in the ball, they're a really damaging
00:21team. Our focus was taking that away from them after the break. The boys responded.
00:27We owned the territory really well for probably the next three quarters. We got the game played
00:31the way that we wanted it. We probably didn't put the scoreboard pressure on the way that
00:36we would have liked, and that's two weeks in a row now where we kept the opposition in
00:40the game by not hitting the scoreboard as we should, but the method when we're under pressure
00:45is starting to stand up. That's something that we pride ourselves on in those close games.
00:51When we get challenged, we back ourselves in to grind it out and get the job done. That's
00:59what we're focused on over the next month. We've got a really challenging block of games
01:02that we're in. Our squad's tested at the minute with a lot of injuries like all teams are through
01:08the competition. It's just about finding a way to win, and that's all our focus is. You
01:13have our system and our method. We're having to adapt that on the fly depending on personnel,
01:18and that'll be the same against Dunstown next week. They're the former team of the competition.
01:23We know they're going to challenge us in different ways again, and we're going to have to try and
01:27find a way to counteract that. We're looking forward to the challenge, and these are the
01:32games through these blocks here where you find out a lot about yourself and where you're at
01:35within the competition, and it's really important to not only win these games but put up good
01:40challenges because these are all the teams that hopefully on the back end of the year that
01:43we're going to be coming up against in finals. I'm looking forward to the challenge against
01:47Dunstown next week, and we'll move forward and take the win, and that's all we can do for now.
