00:00Political analysts expect Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional to be hard-pressed to find a suitable poster boy for the Sabah state election after the two coalitions announced a pact for the polls.

00:15OE Son of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs said neither PH nor BN has a single leader who is prominent enough to be the poster boy for the chief minister candidate.

00:27Bill Cherbala of University Malaysia Sabah said there were other leaders Sabah UMNO could turn to as possible chief minister candidates such as former Federal Minister Aplurah Mandalan and former Sabah Chief Minister Saleh Saeed Kurwa.

00:43OE said PKR is relatively weak in Sabah and while DAP was the stronger partner, it would be virtually impossible to have a Sabah chief minister from DAP.

00:53With Amanah having little to no presence in Sabah, the poster boy would have to come from BN.

01:00However, OE said he did not see any suitable candidates within BN either.

01:06Bill Cherbala said it was unwise of Sabah UMNO to name Bung Mukhtar Radin as its prospective candidate as his ongoing corruption case could hurt the PHBN alliance's image and voter confidence.

01:18Another UMS analyst, Lee Koktyong, expected PHBN to face a tough time negotiating and reaching a consensus on their poster boy,

01:28a task that would become more difficult if Hajji Noor's Gabungan Rakyat Sabah joins the alliance.
