00:00Ready for more Devers drama, Keith?
00:02I am ready. I am ready.
00:04Holy mackerel.
00:06Say what you said when we first got in this morning.
00:09When you first saw these Devers comments yesterday, you thought, what?
00:12That was an article from The Onion.
00:14I looked at the quotes and I was like, these aren't real.
00:17These are fake. Babylon B.
00:18Let's go both sides of the aisle here, Keith.
00:20Yeah, Babylon B.
00:21So I was reading them yesterday as they came out via Twitter.
00:26And I was saying to myself, well, he hasn't talked in a while.
00:28People have wanted to hear from Devers.
00:30So maybe somebody just made up what he might say.
00:33Or maybe they asked AI.
00:34They're like, hey, what would Rafael Devers say about moving to first base
00:37or being asked to play first base?
00:39His reaction is amazing.
00:42It's similar to his reaction from spring training when he was asked to DH,
00:48but it's even turned up more.
00:49It's even more comical.
00:50And as somebody who has said a lot of dumb stuff in my life,
00:53I can recognize how dumb the stuff he is saying.
00:56He's a clown.
00:57He's a legit clown.
00:58He's a horrible teammate.
01:00He's a selfish player.
01:01And I don't know what more he has to do to prove that to everybody else.
01:04Yeah, I don't really understand people on Devers' side.
01:09And I know Wiggy, we were just arguing with Wiggy in the last break.
01:13I know Courtney is on this side as well.
01:15And if Devers is annoyed at the situation, I get it.
01:20I totally get it.
01:21I don't think anybody is saying Devers doesn't have the right to be annoyed or frustrated.
01:27But the fact that he won't do something to help the team,
01:30and he might not even be good at it to your point.
01:32He might not be a good first base.
01:33He might be a horrible option, but that's also a secondary topic.
01:36All these things are secondary.
01:37Is the guy a team player or not?
01:39Is the guy willing to help the team or not?
01:42Or does he just want to be 500 and be happy?
01:44Yeah.
01:45Because it sounds to me like he'd rather be on last year's crappy team as a third baseman.
01:48Although the same guy said he wanted more help.
01:51He wanted reinforcements last year.
01:52He wanted players to come in here.
01:54They got players.
01:55Yeah.
01:55And guess what?
01:56They got help.
01:56They got a player in his position.
01:58He didn't like that.
01:59But you know who was right and who was wrong?
02:01The team was right and he was wrong.
02:02The team was right to bring in Bregman and play him at third.
02:04Bregman's an upgrade at third.
02:06Bregman's a better hitter right now and fielder than Devers.
02:09And better leader and everything else.
02:10So he was wrong.
02:12And I think he's wrong about this too.
02:14So Devers has every right to be frustrated, annoyed.
02:16Go ahead and lash out behind the scenes.
02:19Alex Cora, Craig Breslow.
02:20It sounds like more Breslow than Cora.
02:22I mean, he has every right to do that.
02:24But he's a horrible teammate.
02:26An absolutely horrible teammate.
02:28And Keith, you said this.
02:29For a week, he blew off the media.
02:31And then yesterday, they've now won two games in a row.
02:34He played great.
02:35They have some momentum.
02:37He played great.
02:38They win two in a row.
02:39And instead of feeling good about themselves and getting back over 500,
02:42instead of that, he comes out and introduces this.
02:45And he had a week to think about it.
02:47He had a week to blow off the media, calm down, get his mind right,
02:51get his answers straight.
02:52And this is the best he came up with.
02:54After two straight wins, horrible teammate.
02:57Horrible, horrendous teammate.
02:59They're already joking in the Twitch chat we're trading Rafi Devers.
03:02Yeah, I would.
03:03See you later.
03:04I don't rule anything out.
03:05Go ahead.
03:06And I would have traded him for Vlad in the offseason.
03:09I would have moved off him in the offseason for various different players.
03:13I don't know that I'm moving him right now.
03:14I don't even know that I'm there, but I wouldn't blame the team at all.
03:16Horrible teammate.
03:17Oh, I would.
03:17I would absolutely trade him.
03:19Now, you're not just getting rid of him to get rid of him.
03:21I'm not trading him for, like, a player to be named later.
03:23It's not like a salary dump.
03:25Like, you want somebody good in return.
03:26He is a good hitter.
03:28And I have no idea if he'll be a good first baseman.
03:30I don't know if a team wanting him would want to play him in the field at all.
03:32Maybe they just want him as a DH.
03:33Whatever.
03:34But, yeah, I would move on from him.
03:35This guy has now, a couple of different times, proven to you what a bad teammate he is.
03:41And I think even as a fan, obnoxious.
03:44He's impossible to root for, if you ask me.
03:47And it makes me feel similar to, like, when David Price or John Lackey, guys that were
03:52on the team that we root for, but you just couldn't stand them.
03:56The difference here is David Price would get defended by his teammates.
04:01Because by all accounts, he was a pretty good teammate.
04:04He just, you know, he had the thing with Eckersley on the plane.
04:06He was bad.
04:08He had a million excuses.
04:09Remember, the pollen count was high, so he pitched poorly.
04:11But, like, I don't think teammates disliked him.
04:14Those guys tried to stick up for him.
04:16So this one's very different.
04:17Like, the fan experience is similar.
04:19But this one is, wait a minute.
04:22You won't help us?
04:23Like, you can be as mad at Cora and Breslau as you want.
04:26Like, to your point off the rep.
04:27I'm fine with that.
04:28I get it.
04:29You know me.
04:29Hold a grudge.
04:30Yeah.
04:30But are you, you're not just giving in to Breslau and Cora.
04:34You're also helping Bregman and Story, the pitchers, everybody on your team.
04:40If they think that's the best move and you're not going to do it, you can't argue that you're
04:46a good teammate or you're putting the team first because you're not.
04:48Dr. Andrew said I had a special elbow.
04:50Yeah.
04:51I mean.
04:51No, but you know what I'm saying?
04:52Like, the difference there, like, from the outside, I would say the approval rating was
04:55low on both.
04:56But at least those guys, you could argue, were good teammates.
04:59Well, Keith, how do you know his teammates don't like him?
05:02Ah, interesting.
05:03Interesting.
05:04You should bring up such a thing.
05:05Yes.
05:05So, Chris Cotillo yesterday, Mass Live, tweets out, the clubhouse piece to this, you can bet
05:09his teammates are not going to be thrilled about this dance.
05:12Mm-hmm.
05:12And Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald, quote, tweeted that and said, several of them were
05:19listening intently.
05:20Devers did this in the middle of the clubhouse.
05:22And the reactions were not positive.
05:24Wow.
05:25And I don't, I mean, I'm not surprised.
05:27Me neither.
05:28How could it be?
05:29I mean, this whole team, we talked about it.
05:30Every, almost every guy on the team either has changed positions or has said that they
05:35would.
05:36Yeah.
05:36Like, everybody.
05:37And so, right.
05:37So, again, you don't have to be happy about it.
05:39But I can give you a, we were doing this before the show.
05:42I can give you maybe 1,000 baseball players that switch positions.
05:44I think more now have than haven't.
05:47Keith, the whole team in 2018, almost the entire pitching staff, when Nate Evaldi was
05:52pitching out of the bullpen, Chris Sale was pitching out of the bullpen, like all these
05:57guys were doing it.
05:57Why'd they do that?
05:58Why'd they do that?
06:00I don't know.
06:00They should have dug in their heels and said, no, I'm only a starter.
06:04I'm not helping the team.
06:05All those guys should have said, no, F this.
06:06I'm a starter.
06:07I'm not doing that.
06:08Why would I help you guys out?
06:10I'm not doing that thing.
06:11So, it's just, it's ridiculous.
06:13Even A-Rod, maybe the most selfish professional athlete I can think of.
06:17Yeah, he's up there.
06:18Even that guy.
06:19Yeah.
06:20Moved positions.
06:21There's 1,000 guys on this baseball team that have done it over the years.
06:25And you can talk about guys they moved off of that they probably should have kept in
06:28retrospect over Rafi Devers.
06:30I always wanted Betts over Devers.
06:32Of course.
06:33I mean, I really did.
06:33I wanted Devers over Bogarts, and now I'm rethinking that.
06:37But it's like, Bogarts moved a bunch.
06:38Bogarts continues to move around in San Diego.
06:40He moved up when he first came to the big leagues.
06:42Betts has his money, moves all over the place for the Dodgers.
06:46Unselfish players.
06:47The Padres moved all their guys.
06:48Machado, Tatis, Bogarts.
06:50Everybody moves.
06:51We could do Altuve.
06:52Jackson Merrill.
06:53Altuve's moving all over the place in Houston.
06:54I can give you 1,000 guys.
06:561,000 guys.
06:57And I'm sure none of them are thrilled about it.
06:58Kevin Euclid, I know, was bullcrap about moving all over the place when he was here.
07:02But he did it.
07:04There's a lot of guys.
07:05A lot of guys.
07:06And they might not be thrilled about it.
07:07They may not love doing it.
07:08Victor Martinez was bouncing back and forth between catcher and first base.
07:11I don't think he loved that.
07:13He would do it.
07:13Guys would do it.
07:14Oh, yeah, of course.
07:15And I think most players would do it.
07:17To make it sound like, oh, I get why.
07:19I get Rafi Devers.
07:20They're jerking him around.
07:21They lied to him.
07:22All this stuff.
07:23Almost everybody, even if they don't want to do it, and they're pissed about it, would do it to
07:27help the team, except this guy.
07:29Yeah.
07:29No, it's amazing.
07:30So you can imagine, like you said, what everybody else is saying, every other teammate is saying.
07:36And what's amazing to me is he's making it sound like the Red Sox, meaning Breslau.
07:42We'll get to that.
07:43He's really singling out Breslau.
07:44But if you want to lump Breslau and Corey in sort of the decision makers, he's sort of
07:48making it sound like, oh, they just had a change of heart.
07:51Or, oh, they flip-flopped on this.
07:53Tristan Casas is out for the year.
07:56This isn't like a random occurrence.
07:58This isn't even Casas hitting $1.50.
08:00What do we do?
08:01He's out for the year.
08:03They don't have another first baseman.
08:05They say, hey, maybe you can do this.
08:06Maybe you can help us here.
08:08Be a good teammate and play first.
08:09This wasn't the plan.
08:10In spring training, now, I think there's plenty of reason to get on them for not having him
08:15at least work out as the potential backup.
08:17That's on them, and that's dumb.
08:18However...
08:18Hang on.
08:19You think that's on them?
08:21They didn't have a backup.
08:22So, yeah.
08:22If he was their first choice as a backup, they should have at least had him take a ground
08:27ball or two in spring training.
08:29What if he refused to do it?
08:30Like, I don't rule out that they wanted him to do it, and he said, I'm not doing it.
08:34If we get that part of the story, then so be it.
08:36But I'm just saying, they didn't have a backup first baseman, so now they're asking him to
08:40do it.
08:41He should.
08:43This isn't, they woke up one day and were like, you know what?
08:45After a month of DH-ing, we're going to have you play first.
08:48No, no, no.
08:48Costas is out for the year.
08:50And it's not even, Costas is out for 15 days.
08:52If he's out 15 days, maybe you're like, all right, we'll duct tape it together with
08:56Roman Gonzalez.
08:57He's out for the year.
08:59Something drastic happened.
09:00And it's like, he didn't even acknowledge that in his statements yesterday.
09:04Clown is the perfect word, Keith.
09:06It's the perfect word.
09:07So, it's Jones and Keith.
09:08Lottie already lining up.
09:09You can do so at 617-779-7937.
09:12My goodness, is it a busy Friday.
09:14Wow.
09:15We have the Friday four-pack at 1130, so stay tuned for it.
09:18We have a top five Friday for you.
09:20We're going to give you our top five first base options for the Boston Red Sox.
09:24Topical today.
09:25Very, very topical.
09:26That's at 1045, so about a half an hour from now.
09:29Stay tuned for it.
09:29We're talking Celtics today.
09:31Tim Welsh, former Providence head coach, is going to join us at high noon for some insight
09:35on Celtics and Knicks.
09:37I also understand that Tim Welsh has some sources at the University of North Carolina, which could
09:43be very relevant, given the updates on Bill Belichick today.
09:46If you're just tuning in, Jordan Hudson, banned from UNC.
09:50She's banned from the football facility.
09:53Oh, my God.
09:53And Bill's family is, quote-unquote, digging in on Jordan Hudson.
09:57Like, her history?
09:59All this stuff.
10:00So, a lot of good dirt on Belichick.
10:02We'll get to that.
10:02I'm not talking about this.
10:03No, I wouldn't want to either.
10:05We also have the Week in Review at 1245.
10:07Jam-packed show.
10:07Oh, and Mike Vrabel talks live at 130.
10:09I can't imagine a more jam-packed Friday here on Jones and Keefe.
10:14Very full.
10:15You can interact Twitter and Instagram at Jones and Keefe.
10:18Watch along and chat.
10:19Twitch.tv slash Boston WEI.
10:21Always a healthy chat going on on Twitch.
10:23And you can watch on YouTube.
10:24Subscribe to WEI.
10:26Let's hear a few more of these clips.
10:27These are just unbelievable.
10:29Keefe is right.
10:30When I saw this last night, I wasn't even sure they were real.
10:35Rafael Devers is upset with Craig Breslow, which I find odd.
10:38But let's hear it and react on the other side.
10:40Here's Devers.
10:41And I'm assuming the conversation, like, it was with Alex and Craig Breslow.
10:46No, fue solamente con el gerente.
10:49No sé qué le pasa a esa persona conmigo.
10:52El jugo pelota.
10:53Creo que él también entiende que es muy difÃcil cambiar de posición asÃ.
10:57Creo que la pelota que el jugo no fue esta que estamos jugando ahora.
11:01Yeah, it was the GM that I spoke with.
11:07You know, I'm not certain what he has with me.
11:12He played ball, and I would like to think that he knows that, you know, changing positions like that isn't easy.
11:21He played ball?
11:22What an animal.
11:23You don't know how to play first base.
11:25Scott?
11:25That's right.
11:26It's not that hard, Scott.
11:28Tell him, watch.
11:29It's incredibly hard.
11:32Scott Hatterberg did it.
11:33Not that hard, Scott.
11:35A lot of guys stick over there.
11:36First base.
11:36Text line points out.
11:37Kyle Schwarber did it.
11:38Not well.
11:38But like the.
11:39But.
11:39Cecil Fielder played first.
11:40In terms of being a good teammate, there's a lot.
11:43Kyle Schwarber became like a cult hero because he did it.
11:45Okay.
11:45Exactly.
11:46Schwarber wasn't good at it, but at least he did it for the team.
11:50And so this guy.
11:51So I did a brag, Keith.
11:53Oh, early brag.
11:54I did an early edition last night.
11:56Look at that.
11:57TV Jones.
11:58They brought over a gentleman from Telemundo.
12:00Sick brag, bro.
12:02So this is a great idea, actually, which I was thinking of yesterday because I only took
12:06Spanish for like four years.
12:07So I'm really of no help to anybody.
12:09I took it for four years in high school, two semesters in college.
12:11Yeah.
12:11I'm horrible at it.
12:13I couldn't even put together a sentence.
12:14I think he's talking about baseball, but I'm not really sure what else.
12:17I heard Pelota.
12:18I heard that in there.
12:18I heard Pelota.
12:19Other than that, I didn't pick up one word.
12:21So they brought in like a separate translator.
12:23Yes.
12:23From Telemundo.
12:24Okay.
12:24What was the takeaway?
12:25And he just basically said that it was much worse than this Red Sox PR guy translator
12:29who's there for Devers.
12:30Makes sense.
12:31Who literally is a team employee in PR, translating for Devers, cleaning everything up, softening
12:36the stance.
12:36And one of the examples he used, I believe the word is herente, which is how you're referring
12:40to like a GM in this case, but very dismissive of Breslow.
12:46And that tone didn't necessarily come through.
12:48Yeah.
12:48So he is pissed at Breslow.
12:51And I would take a step back from that because Breslow is the one who asked him, according
12:55to Devers, he sat down and Breslow asked him to go play first base, go get the glove.
12:59And he's pissed at Breslow.
13:00And I don't even get why Breslow is having the conversation.
13:03Where's Cora?
13:04This is Cora's job.
13:05This is what you do.
13:06This is a player you have a relationship with.
13:08And I think the whole thing is weaselly by Cora.
13:11Did he not want to do it?
13:13Yeah.
13:13Did he say, well, it's not my problem, Craig.
13:16You go do it.
13:17Yeah.
13:17You started this.
13:18Did Craig just say this is I would if Breslow did this, I'd give him a lot of credit.
13:21Doesn't seem like his character or his personality.
13:23Yeah.
13:24But if Breslow's just like, guys, this is ridiculous.
13:26No one's talking to Devers.
13:27It's embarrassing that Cora's like, I haven't even had the conversation.
13:30I don't plan on having the conversation.
13:32I'll go down and have the conversation.
13:34Hey, Ralphie.
13:35Breslow had it.
13:36Breslow, there's multi factors into the variables that are.
13:39Breslow shouldn't be delivering it.
13:41But I give him credit if he was just like fed up with Cora because Cora's not going to
13:44have the conversation.
13:45He went down and did it.
13:46It's such a weaselly move by Cora.
13:48It is.
13:48To not get in the middle.
13:49This is what you're supposed to do as a manager of the Red Sox.
13:51Devers being Sour Patch Kids started because of Cora.
13:56Nobody wanted Alex Bregman more than Alex Cora.
13:59Great point.
13:59Not even close.
14:00Breslow, happy with the results.
14:02Didn't really want him, I don't think.
14:04The reporting in real time is that Cora and ownership were pushing for.
14:08And Breslow's like, we're good.
14:09Let's stay the Cora.
14:10They were pushing for Bregman and Breslow was the one holding up the side.
14:14So he's out of the field because of Alex Cora.
14:18Then because of an injury to another player for the season.
14:21They're asking him if he might consider playing first base and Devers blames it all on Breslow.
14:26I mean, misguided.
14:28You think Cora really wants to just trot out Abraham Toro every single game?
14:33Or does he think, hey, maybe Devers can try it.
14:37We can call up Roman Anthony to DH for a while.
14:39Then we'll see what happens with the outfield.
14:41Or he even plays some outfield.
14:43Then we can DH, you know, Willier for a game.
14:46Or we can DH whoever for a game here and there.
14:48Use it sort of as a rotating spot.
14:51Yeah, it truly is remarkable.
14:53I'm starting to wonder if anybody down there wants to win.
14:55Like, Devers is happy going 500 and playing third base every day.
14:57Devers does not.
14:58Devers does not.
14:59Are you sure Cora wants to?
15:02No.
15:02Well, not.
15:03No.
15:03He wants to be prepared for the end of the year, which may end up being missing the playoffs
15:07based on how you're managing your bullpen and everything else.
15:10Cora can't even bring himself to have a conversation with Rafael Devers.
15:13He won't walk Vlad Guerrero because he's like, well, they'll need this for three months from now.
15:17I'm starting to wonder if anybody down there wants to win or if everybody just wants to be, like, friendly with each other
15:21and happy with their situation.
15:22Devers and Cora right in the middle of it.
15:24I did love this.
15:25This was maybe my favorite part of the whole thing.
15:27Okay.
15:29Devers basically telling Breslow to go do his job and hit the market and get a first baseman.
15:34This was my favorite.
15:34Let me hear this.
15:35Because of the conversation that you had in spring training, switching to being a designated,
15:40do you feel like that now makes you already put it behind you, like missing the field, you know, not playing the field,
15:46but put that behind you?
15:48Yeah, you know, they put me in this situation.
15:52You know, they told me that they didn't want to allow me to play any other position.
15:59And now, you know, I think they should do their job, essentially, and hit the market and look for another player.
16:09But I'm not sure why they want me to be in between the way they have me now.
16:16That's incredible.
16:18I mean, hey, Craig, why don't you go do your job?
16:21Yeah.
16:21Hit the market.
16:22Get me a player.
16:23We got you players.
16:24And then you had to move position and you were mad about that.
16:27So if we get another player, how mad are you going to be?
16:29Go get a DH then.
16:30That is unbelievable.
16:31Is DH a position?
16:32Well, stop you right there.
16:34Quote unquote.
16:34Let's rewind that.
16:35Like, I'm learning a new position.
16:37It's not a position.
16:38You're just hitting.
16:39You already hit.
16:40You're just doing less.
16:41You're doing less.
16:42They're actually asking you to do less.
16:43It's an unbelievable thing to be so concerned about.
16:45He's legit making it sound like he played third base, center field.
16:49Now they're asking him to catch.
16:50No, no, no.
16:50That's what he's making it sound like.
16:51Keith, he said it's a slippery slope.
16:53Like, pretty soon, if he plays first base, they're going to ask him to play out.
16:55So that was my favorite part.
16:56That's a great line.
16:57That was my favorite part because I say a lot of dumb stuff.
16:59That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
17:01Like, Devers, they're never going to ask you to play in the outfield.
17:03You don't have to worry about that.
17:04And why would they?
17:04An injury?
17:05Like, they actually have that covered.
17:07They got a bunch of outfielders.
17:08They don't have a bunch of first basemen.
17:10Go get me a goddamn first baseman.
17:11Desperate times call for desperate measures.
17:13That was Devers.
17:14That was Lou translating the Spanish.
17:15That was Devers.
17:16Yeah, yeah, yeah.
17:16He was like, please go out and get somebody.
17:18Which is also funny because that's also burying the guys you have.
17:21Right?
17:21Like, that's just another shot at Romy.
17:24It's one thing for you and I to dump on Romy and Toro.
17:26That's what he's doing.
17:27Yeah, yeah, yeah.
17:28We don't have a first base.
17:28Those guys are like, at least we're willing to play it.
17:31We're also third basemen.
17:32Isn't Romy and Toro both third basemen?
17:34Or at least came up as like shortstops or basemen?
17:35Who knows?
17:36Right, who knows?
17:36But they're willing to play first base.
17:38Of course they are.
17:38Marcelo Myers, willing to play first base.
17:40Well, they're...
17:40All these guys are willing to play first base, except for Devers.
17:43They're professionals.
17:44They're all...
17:44This guy's not a professional.
17:45He's a baby.
17:46Guy's a great hitter.
17:48Great...
17:48That's a stretch.
17:50Guy's a good hitter.
17:51He's a good hitter.
17:52Good hitter.
17:52He's good.
17:53He's a good hitter.
17:54And he makes a lot of money.
17:55No, but...
17:55But he is just a horrible, horrible teammate, and he's not a professional.
17:59But if they asked me to change positions, it's such a wild phrase, considering you went
18:04from third base, where half of your job is hitting, half of it is playing third.
18:08They said, don't worry about playing third.
18:09Yeah, just hit.
18:10Which is what you were already doing.
18:12That's not a position.
18:12Not at all.
18:13You're not learning anything.
18:14It's like half a day off.
18:15Like, they're actually paying you more money than for stuff that you're doing.
18:19They're taking away some responsibility.
18:20Now they're saying, hey, remember how badly you wanted to play in the field?
18:25We actually have an opportunity for you to play in the field on the other hot corner.
18:29Slide over to first base.
18:30Will you try that?
18:30He's like, well, what's next?
18:32Center field?
18:32And I just...
18:33No, dude.
18:33Center field's not next.
18:34I also refuse to believe they, just out of the blue, told him to put his glove away.
18:38He claims that.
18:39He's like, well, they just essentially told me to put my glove away.
18:42I just...
18:43I highly doubt that.
18:44I don't know this, but just...
18:45Does that sound like something a team would do?
18:47I think a team, because you want to be prepared in case of injury or struggles or whatever.
18:51Throw your glove away.
18:52I think a team would say, keep taking grounders at third.
18:55Stay in shape.
18:55Why don't you take some grounders at first as well?
18:57You never know what's going to happen.
18:59Just why don't you do that?
19:00And, you know, hopefully things will work out.
19:02Things have a way of working out.
19:03That's what I think a team would say.
19:05I think they told him to put his glove away to convince him to be a DH because he was such
19:11a baby about signing a better player than him in Alex Bregman.
19:15A better winner, a better leader, a better teammate, a better player.
19:18He was such a baby about it.
19:20They're like, well, then Rafi, fine.
19:21Just put your glove away.
19:22You're just a DH now.
19:23You're such a giant baby about this.
19:25Just put your glove away.
19:26He's the least likable Red Sox since David Price.
19:30Yeah.
19:30I think he has to be.
19:31Now, in fairness, and you said at least Price was popular with his teammates.
19:36I'm not sure Devers is right now.
19:37Right.
19:38But a lot of us wanted him to trade David Price, and eventually they did.
19:42But Price also helped you win a World Series.
19:44A lot of us wanted to trade John Lackey.
19:46Lackey eventually.
19:47Oh, look.
19:48Helped them win a World Series.
19:49He's not likable.
19:50Doesn't mean he can't hit.
19:51I mean, he sucked a ding-dong yesterday.
19:52Like, he's still a hitter.
19:54I'm not trading him away for a bunch of fungal bats.
19:57But you are trading him.
19:58Yeah.
19:58Hell yeah.
19:59Okay.
19:59I don't even know that I'm there yet.
20:00I mean, look.
20:01I'd trade anybody in the right deal, but I don't know that I'm, like, itching to trade him.
20:05But he needs to wake up, and hopefully, just like he eventually woke up and moved to DH,
20:10hopefully this is all just a...
20:12Do you think...
20:12Kicking up dust, and he eventually moves to first, because that's the obvious right thing.
20:16Now, somewhat apples to oranges, but play along for a second.
20:21Do you think Kyrie Irving was a good teammate?
20:23Nope.
20:23So, don't you think...
20:24Very skilled, very good player.
20:26But teammate...
20:27Like Price and Lackey, his teammates did really like him.
20:30Yeah, but which was odd.
20:31I don't know if he brainwashed him or whatever.
20:33But it was almost like, as talented as he was, they needed to move on from him to win.
20:37I know basketball and baseball are different, and a guy that just goes in there and hits.
20:41But if you have everybody else on the team looking at him sideways, he's a guy who's
20:45zero...
20:46He's never had accountability.
20:47His whole career, he's never had accountability.
20:49He's just had other teammates to step up for him.
20:52And then when he hasn't, we've had some of these bad seasons, and he's been the face
20:55of those bad seasons.
20:56So, I'm not attached to him.
20:57If you can find a good trade, do it.
21:00I have no...
21:01I don't need to keep him.
21:02Okay.
