00:00Gymnastics Association of the Philippines announces a final lineup for the 18th Junior and 12th Senior Women's Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships in South Korea from June 12 to 15.
00:12Here's Justine Ilano with the report.
00:16Dream come true for rising Filipina gymnast Haley Garcia as she makes final lineup of Women's Artistic Gymnastics Team set to compete in the 18th Junior and 12th Senior Women's Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships
00:29in Jecheon Si, South Korea from June 12 to 15.
00:34Garcia's name is among those announced by the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines as part of the national team that will represent the country in the upcoming Asian Gymnastics Competition.
00:44A major factor in Garcia's selection was her impressive performance at the Gap Challenge 2025 last March where she won gold in vault, silver in uneven bars, and bronze in individual all around.
00:57In an interview with PDV Sports, the 16-year-old gymnast shared her commitment to train even harder, especially with a tougher competition ahead at the Asian level.
01:35According to Garcia, this is a significant step in her young career, especially as she aims to compete in larger tournaments such as the SEA Games, Asian Games, and even the Olympics.
01:46Yes po, those are all goals po sa future ko at Asian Champs is a great way po to para ma-practice at masanay po ako sa mga malalaking competitions.
01:59And marami po akong magkita ang bagong opponent at I can look up to yung mga ibang gymnast po doon.
02:08Before her national team duties, Garcia will compete in the Women's Development National Championship in Salt Lake City, Utah this May, where she will debut as a level 10 gymnast.
02:18Of course, I'm expecting po to see my teammates, si Lauren Sopnet at si Hayden Nyland.
02:44Meanwhile, also part of the seniors team are Lauren Sopnet, Kady Nicole Nyland, Zayana Enriquez, and Elia Escoces.
02:53On the other hand, the junior squad is composed of Elizabeth Anton, Shelo Estiza, Maxine Boldoc, Sabina Tayag, and Talula Antonino Nadres.
03:04Justine Ilano from the National Team Network for a new and better Philippines.
