We spoke to Oisin McConville this afternoon, and he says Armagh 'are in a really good place' heading into Saturday's Ulster Final against Donegal.
Transcript
00:00Oisín, RMA and Donegal meet in the Ulster finals tomorrow. Is it fair to say you've got the two best teams in Ulster going head to head?
00:06I think there's no doubt about it. I think best teams, best support, strength and depth.
00:11This game has absolutely everything. Both teams have absolutely everything.
00:16Both teams are vying not just to win an Ulster title but to try and win an All-Ireland.
00:20They're right up there at the top when you hear people talking about who's going to win the All-Ireland.
00:25Actually Donegal are probably a lot of people's favourites at this stage along with Galway.
00:31There's a real change in the landscape of where Gaelic football has gone.
00:36Obviously with Dublin getting beat, Kerry winning All-Irelands every year or even every other year.
00:42I think this game really whets the appetite for everybody and it's one that I think people are really looking forward to.
00:49There's a bit of a needle there as well which helps.
00:52Of course Armagh have been in the last two Ulster finals, haven't got over the line.
00:55What's the key to victory for Armagh tomorrow?
00:58I think the longer Armagh stay in the game, the more they can bring it down the stretch.
01:02They seem to have the composure to win and take games.
01:06They've been used to that over the last 12 months.
01:09I think because of that it probably gives Armagh a slayed edge.
01:14Donegal just look really fit, really honest and just have the ability to run teams into the ground.
01:22I think they'll find it that harder against a top team like Armagh.
01:25Yeah and of course Armagh won the big one last year but still no Anglo-Selt medals in that changing room.
01:29There's got to be a massive hunger isn't there in that dressing room?
01:31It seemed straight after the All-Ireland last year that that seemed to be the number one thing in their head.
01:36Was that you know okay we've won an All-Ireland but we've no Ulster medals.
01:39We probably, the crew that went before probably too many Ulster medals and not enough All-Irelands.
01:44So you can't have it everywhere but I do think it's a real, there's a real purpose in this Armagh team
01:51about going and winning an Ulster title and whatever way they have to do that.
01:55And to be honest coming off the back of winning in All-Ireland, I mean we don't win All-Irelands that often.
02:01But coming off the back of winning in All-Ireland and the way they have stepped up,
02:06approached the league and now into the Ulster Champions you would have to suggest that Armagh are in a really good place.
02:13Yeah and then obviously the ladies games open up for it first and it's going to be a great occasion isn't it?
02:18Do you like to see that?
02:19Definitely I think you know a lot of people like to get into the ground early.
02:23I think it's great that you know there's a game on and I think also with Armagh and Donegal being involved in both games just adds to it.
02:30And you look at the strength of the ladies game, you look at the support that they can garner off their own bat, never mind.
02:36But like those girls wouldn't have played in front of a major crowd like this before, especially such a partisan crowd.
02:43And I think again that just adds to the occasion and hopefully it's a double for Armagh.
