00:00Hey, Douglas, beat me if you can survive!
00:11What the hell are you doing?
00:17What the hell?
00:18Extreme Championship!
01:42Hello, everyone, and welcome to Extreme Championship Wrestling.
01:46I'm Joey Stiles, and ECW is coming off the most critically acclaimed event in this promotion's history.
01:54What a nice change from everyone just being critical of ECW.
01:57Heat Wave 98, a pay-per-view that scorched the entire wrestling industry from the Harrow Arena at Dayton, Ohio.
02:08The big news coming out of the pay-per-view is that Taz is still the unrecognized F the World Heavyweight Champion.
02:17It was an epic battle that lived up to and exceeded everyone's expectations of the matchup.
02:25The Beast from the East came to the ring first.
02:28It was obvious by the expression on his face he was ready for a war.
02:33He was followed by the F the World Heavyweight Champion, a man on a mission, the human suplex machine, Taz.
02:42These two brawled all over the building in a false count everywhere and anywhere matchup, and the Beast from the East was relentless,
02:55merciless, and deliberate in his attack on Taz.
03:06Bigelow seemed to be a juggernaut, obsessed with the thought of destroying the human suplex machine
03:14so he would never get to the leader of the triple threat, the heavyweight champion of the world, Shane Douglas.
03:21For the first time since his debut here in ECW, we saw Taz busted open, his entire face covered by the crimson mask.
03:35Perhaps in an act of self-preservation, Taz was crawling up the rampway towards the locker room.
03:44Bigelow was giving chase, and perhaps sensing that Taz was right, ready for the kill.
03:50Bam Bam Bigelow was going to receive Taz for living dangerously back on March 1st, 1998 in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
04:01He was going to T-bone suplex Taz off of the ramp, over the steel guardrail, to the concrete floor below.
04:11And out of nowhere, Taz hooked Bigelow for the DDT, and they crashed through the ramp.
04:16We all thought the matchup was over, there was no way either athlete could continue, there was no movement.
04:23When suddenly, Bigelow emerged from the hole and began staggering up the rampway.
04:29But then, an enraged and incensed Taz, Chase Bigelow jumped on him, locked on the Katahajime, the Taz mission, and from my vantage point, it seemed that Bam Bam Bigelow tapped.
04:43However, the 350-plus pound beast from the east, obviously didn't see things my way, and obviously has his own opinion about how this epic battle ended.
04:57I never tapped.
05:01Never.
05:01I didn't tap.
05:04I never tapped.
05:05I'll hand it to you, Taz.
05:07You may have had it locked.
05:08You may have had it on.
05:10But, I promise you this.
05:12You will have to choke me out because I will never tap.
05:16I will never quit.
05:18I promise you, Taz, that I am going to kick your ass.
05:23You may have took something from me, and that's the trophy I had.
05:28I'm going to get it back, and I'm going to do it my way.
05:32It's going to be the beast from the east, and your ass is going down.
05:39You know, there's probably nothing more pathetic than seeing a grown man whine and cry.
05:46Especially a 350-pound beast from the east.
05:50Come out on national TV and whine and cry like a little bitch.
05:57Brother, come on.
06:00Fess up.
06:01You tapped.
06:02You know you tapped.
06:03And I'm not going to get into this whole big thing and this whole controversy crap.
06:07Because in Living Dangerously, in Jersey, on pay-per-view, you pinned me in the middle.
06:13I've said it many times.
06:15And you were the better man.
06:17It wasn't the ring.
06:17It wasn't the hometown advantage.
06:19It was none of that.
06:21You pinned me.
06:22And you beat me.
06:23I never cried about the ref seeing the tap, not seeing the tap.
06:27None of that.
06:28I took it on the chin like a man.
06:31But not you.
06:32The big guy.
06:34The best big man in the business.
06:36Well, brother, the best little man, as you call me, in the business, beats you.
06:44I guess I'm bigger than you.
06:46Because you tapped out.
06:49And Shane Douglas, you're up there doing color.
06:53Which you're very good at.
06:55I think that's really where your future is.
06:57Because your career is probably done, brother.
07:00Done.
07:01Because you have damaged goods.
07:04You're fragile, bro.
07:06And you want to mess with me.
07:08You're a fragile two-pick.
07:10And I'm a buzzsaw.
07:12And I am the only world champion in this company.
07:16The FTW world heavyweight champion.
07:19And you don't want to recognize my belt, huh?
07:22You don't recognize my belt.
07:25Well, I think you're a liar.
07:27I think you're a flat-out, straight-up, lying, crying, b****.
07:33Why do you always talk about my belt, Shane?
07:35Why do you come out here week in and week out and talk about the fake orange belt?
07:41The bogus Taz.
07:43The guy never beat no one.
07:45Who'd you beat?
07:47Who'd you beat, brother?
07:49You won an NWA tournament and threw the belt down.
07:52That's what you did.
07:53And you had a regional belt called Eastern Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Belt.
07:58You made it.
07:59The ECW, the extreme championship world heavyweight belt.
08:03You ain't beat no one for it.
08:06So what about me, Shane?
08:09What?
08:09So I'm bogus and you're not.
08:11So let's see.
08:13If I'm some guy, let's just say some guy, standing naked in front of his roach-infested apartment
08:19in, like, Altoona, Pennsylvania, and he's wearing a world belt, and he goes,
08:25I'm the ECW world heavyweight champion.
08:27You don't come out here and acknowledge him, do you?
08:30No, you don't talk about him because he's a schmuck.
08:32I agree.
08:33But you talk about this, don't you?
08:35And you talk about me.
08:37That's why.
08:38Because you're obsessed with me.
08:40Because I put you out.
08:41And you know any time I wrestle you, not only did I put you down physically,
08:49but now I put you down mentally, genius, Mr. Chalkboard, Mr. Cap, and f*** down!
08:57I put you down!
09:00So I'll tell you what, kid.
09:02Being that I'm the only real champ around here,
09:05any time you want to shout out my belt, young boy,
09:08you could either just call the office or call me.
09:13Someone will give you my number.
09:15I'll give you a shout any time, bro.
09:17Because, you know, you're probably a good FTW champion,
09:20but you can't beat me.
09:22You know why, Shane?
09:24Because I'm Taz, the human suplex machine brother,
09:28the one and only,
09:30the FTW world heavyweight champion.
09:35Beat me if you can.
09:38Survive if I let you.
09:41I mean no disrespect to the franchise Shane Douglas,
09:47who I think is still my co-host.
09:49I don't even know if he works here.
09:50He walked off.
09:51To the triple threat and to especially Mr. Bam Bam Bigelow,
09:54who was a monster at Heat Wave 98.
09:57But from my vantage point, and perhaps only my vantage point,
10:01Bigelow tapped.
10:02Now, by Bigelow's own admission,
10:04he was the roadblock in between Taz
10:07and the world heavyweight champion,
10:08the franchise Shane Douglas.
10:10Now that Taz has gotten by Bam Bam Bigelow,
10:13or so it would seem,
10:14the path of rage is headed right for
10:17the world heavyweight champion.
10:19Now, the Taz-Shane Douglas feud
10:21was born of the Taz-Sabu feud.
10:25Right now, for the first time ever,
10:27we show you extended highlights
10:28from Taz versus Sabu
10:31from our very first pay-per-view,
10:34barely legal,
10:35April 13th, 1997.
10:37And remember,
10:38and this is almost unbelievable,
10:39that at the time,
10:40Taz was managed by Bill Alfonso.
10:55Who's going to make the first move?
11:01And Slapped Sabu.
11:13Sabu fires back.
11:16Fists to the face.
11:19Running clothesline by Kaz.
11:22And Sabu is staggered, to say the least.
11:26Sabu, back in the ring.
11:29Dropkick right to the knee of Kaz.
11:30Sabu is waiting for the perfect moment
11:33and nailed that dropkick.
11:36Slingshot kick off the second rope.
11:40And now it's Taz rolling to the outside.
11:46Taz now on the outside,
11:48perhaps rethinking his game plan.
11:50Both boots right to the chest of Taz.
11:53Taz is ducked over the golf rail
11:55into the first row.
11:56трatu's going for a chair.
12:01Tratus is a snowball.
12:04Keep your eye on Sabu!
12:09Double jump springboard punch out.
12:16Easy jump! Easy jump!
12:17Easy jump!
12:18But by no means is he safe.
12:25Triple jump springboard.
12:27Sabu missed at the steel guardrail.
12:32Belly-to-belly Taz clicks.
12:34Sabu thrown into the third row.
12:37Taz goes for Northern Lights.
12:39Taz clicks on the table.
12:41Sabu blocks it.
12:42He's going for swinging DDT.
12:47Taz threw off Sabu.
12:49He blocked the swinging DDT.
12:52Sabu went through the table.
12:54And now Alfonso is caught in Sabu.
13:01Telling him to get up.
13:03Telling him to get back in the ring.
13:05So his man Taz can finish him off.
13:07Sabu now setting up Taz for what?
13:13One, two, three, four, five, four.
13:15Bunika Rana from the top.
13:17That maybe?
13:18Two and up.
13:19Taz able to kick out using
13:24just his massive leg strength.
13:26Sabu ascending the turnbuckles.
13:29No, he's up on the rink post.
13:32One elevation.
13:34What elevation!
13:41Head and arm, Taz Plex, forget about it!
13:48Sabu with the reversal!
13:50Taz was going to the team on Taz Plex!
13:52Sabu blocked it and got off the team on Taz Plex of his arm!
13:56Now he's mocking Taz!
13:58Tuck the clothesline!
14:02And now Sabu!
14:04Sabu has to come to Hajime on Taz!
14:06He's getting the Taz mission on Taz!
14:10He's going to choke Taz out!
14:12No!
14:18Probably the back Taz Plex!
14:20Nobody can lock on that hold like Taz can and we just found that out!
14:26Again, Sabu landed on his head!
14:30Crunched his neck!
14:32T-bone Taz Plex!
14:34There it is!
14:36Sabu again dropped on his neck!
14:40The attack on Sabu's neck has been relentless!
14:44It has been evident!
14:46And there it is!
14:50The Kata Hajime!
14:52The Taz mission!
14:54And with the conditioning that Sabu's neck is in!
14:56I don't see how he could possibly fight off the Taz mission!
15:00The Kata Hajime!
15:02Choked out Bam Bam!
15:04Bigelow!
15:059-1-1!
15:06Gold Norwich!
15:07Chris Jericho!
15:08He cuts over!
15:09It is over!
15:10You do it!
15:11Time!
15:12The second Sabu went backwards off the table!
15:24He landed on his neck on the concrete floor!
15:28It was the beginning of the end of this matchup!
15:32Taz caught the entry to the net!
15:36And hit Sabu and pass play that to pass play that to pass play!
15:42Swapping the net!
15:44Waiting for the right moment!
15:46And he strapped off the placard to Hajime!
15:48And now, Sal Boone raising the hand of Tez
15:58in a wonderful display of sportsmanship here
16:03at ECW's very first pay-per-view, barely legal.
16:09That's the way it should be.
16:12Like the gladiators of old.
16:18Mutual respect.
16:20Rob Van Dam to the ring.
16:23Van Dam and Sabu may go at it here.
16:29Tez is going for the hard-wing Tez flex.
16:32Sabu save Van Dam.
16:33And now Sabu and Van Dam are double-teaming Tez.
16:41Rob kicks to the rim to Tez.
16:44A drop by Van Dam.
16:48Slingshot twisting leg drop.
16:56Sabu and Rob Van Dam, tag team partners.
17:00Arabian face buster.
17:07Sabu just dove and Tez and put him through that table.
17:10You may be better off just getting the hell out of there.
17:15Regroup and fight another.
17:21Sabu teacher.
17:23What a double cross.
17:29So at barely legal, Taz won the match, but lost his manager.
17:33The rematch between Taz and Sabu was scheduled for Wrestlepalooza 97, June 7th of that year.
17:45The rematch happened, and then the Taz-Sabu feud kind of evolved into the Taz-Shane Douglas feud.
17:53Keep in mind, at that time, Shane Douglas was the world television champion.
18:00Here's the balance.
18:01Time for the grudge rematch of the century.
18:04This matchup also originally scheduled for the pay-per-view on August 17th.
18:13But these two men couldn't wait.
18:17Both feet in the face of Taz.
18:19Cover.
18:23Tip up.
18:24And Taz counters.
18:34Now it's Taz putting the boots to Sabu.
18:38It doesn't take Taz any time to even up the score, does it?
18:43Taz has got to stay one step ahead of Sabu
18:46because his former manager, Bill Alfonso,
18:49who knows many of his training secrets,
18:53is now in the corner of Sabu.
18:57And vicious cross-facing going on.
18:59Taz looking to break the nose of Sabu again.
19:06Acai moonsault.
19:08And Taz gets sandwiched into the guardrail.
19:12That's what you call a kamikaze move.
19:15Both men down, and Sabu began on the offense.
19:20The energy is kicking out.
19:24Sabu is going for the triple jump moves,
19:27and it backfires.
19:28That's exactly why it's called a high-risk maneuver.
19:35Taz has Sabu cinched up.
19:38Sabu holding on for dear life.
19:43T-bone Taz flex.
19:46Wastelock.
19:49Northern light, Taz flexing the bridge.
19:52And Sabu pushed away the foot of Taz to kick out.
19:57That's what makes Sabu so dangerous.
19:59Not only is he great in the air,
20:01but he knows how to counter map maneuvers.
20:06Taz going up.
20:08With a fist to the face.
20:10Taz held on.
20:11I guess he can counter those aerial maneuvers himself.
20:16Where in the hell is Taz going?
20:21No water in the pool.
20:23Taz went for the senton splash and missed.
20:31Leg dropped from the heavens.
20:32That was a major mistake by Taz going high.
20:38But he still manages to get the shoulder up.
20:50Sabu switches direction in midair.
20:53And puts Taz from the table.
20:56Both Taz and the table crumbled from Sabu's force.
21:00And that may be all for the human two-flex machine.
21:05Sabu may have evened this series.
21:08And what a...
21:08No!
21:08It's the cut to Hajime!
21:12Sabu flips backwards!
21:14Taz's shoulders were down on the mat.
21:17He's got the hold,
21:18but his shoulders were down for a three count.
21:21Well, the match is over,
21:22but Taz isn't letting go of the cut to Hajime!
21:26He's got the leg great find as well.
21:29It's like Taz lost the battle,
21:31but he's winning the war.
21:33He refuses to let go.
21:36I don't think he knows the match is over.
21:39I don't think he cares.
21:42And at the next match,
21:44I'm sitting up here to enjoy myself.
21:46I've seen enough of your ass.
21:48Get the f*** out.
21:52If you come in this ring
21:54and face me face to face,
21:59I guarantee you,
22:00I guarantee you,
22:03I can make you tap out within five minutes.
22:08I'll be willing to put the belt on the line.
22:12I'll be willing to put the belt on the line.
22:14I'll be willing to put the belt on the line.
22:16But,
22:16but,
22:18five minutes,
22:20I don't tap out.
22:21You walk out the f***ing door,
22:23and I don't go out and look at your greasy ass
22:25for 60 days.
22:26I won't make you tap in five minutes.
22:29Being that you're so fond of this number,
22:32I won't make you tap in three minutes, Shane.
22:36Brother,
22:37strap him up tight.
22:38You got yourself a f***ing deal.
22:40Go get him, Shane.
22:43Go get him.
22:45Was a questionable move by Taz,
22:48but downright stupid on the part of Douglas.
22:51Douglas has nothing to gain here.
22:54And everything to lose.
22:59And Taz has already wrestled a match
23:01against Samu, of all people.
23:03Needless to say,
23:07Taz has been worn down,
23:08but this is stupid on the part of Shane Douglas.
23:11He should stick and move,
23:13stay away from Taz,
23:14and let the clock run out.
23:17Well,
23:17his ego may be getting the best of him.
23:20Maybe he's trying to prove to Francine.
23:22After all,
23:23he is a man.
23:2630 seconds down.
23:28Swinging neck breaker.
23:30The franchise knows that Taz
23:32has had a broken neck,
23:34and nobody breaks necks like the franchise.
23:39Nobody's got a neck like Taz either.
23:42DDT.
23:50We are now a full minute.
23:52Oh, my God.
23:53Excellent move by Shane Douglas.
23:55An inverted rolling neck step.
23:59And we've got less than two minutes.
24:01Oh, not again.
24:03We have got less than two minutes to go
24:05in this special challenge.
24:09He's focused on the neck of Taz.
24:14We are halfway through.
24:16We are a minute 30
24:17into this three-minute challenge.
24:18Full Nelson now by the franchise.
24:21Taz goes for the countdown today.
24:23The franchise blocks the right arm
24:24and goes downstairs.
24:25It was a gutsy challenge by Taz,
24:29who maybe was trying to spin a web
24:31and catch a fly.
24:32Whether or not he has the gas left in him
24:34remains to be seen.
24:36Reversal.
24:38There it is!
24:39There's the cut to Hajime.
24:41He's got it locked on.
24:43The Taz mission.
24:46The cut to Hajime is locked on.
24:49The world's chosen champion.
24:51We have got one minute to go.
24:54Can the franchise hold on?
24:56He's trying desperately to reach the ropes.
24:59But Taz has the hold since done.
25:01Douglas' legs are not long enough.
25:03He cannot reach the ropes.
25:05Less than one minute to go.
25:08Can the franchise hang on?
25:10Can he fight off the cup to Hajime?
25:13Shane Douglas has to feel that title belt
25:15slipping from his grasp
25:17as every second ticks off the clock.
25:2030 seconds left.
25:22Can the franchise...
25:25Taz keeps trying to hook that leg.
25:27The franchise keeps kicking it away.
25:30He's back up to his feet.
25:31He's gonna try to kick backwards like Sabu.
25:34He's locked the legs.
25:37He tapped the franchise.
25:39Taz now!
25:39Taz!
25:40Taz!
25:41Taz!
25:42Taz!
25:43Taz!
25:44Taz!
25:45Taz!

26:01Taz!
26:01Taz!
26:01Taz!
26:02Taz!
26:05With the world television title done, the franchise Shane Douglas set his sights on the ECW world
26:11heavyweight title, and he is the ECW world heavyweight champion today.
26:16But the issue between Taz and Sabu never came to a close, but perhaps it will this Saturday night at the world's infamous ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It's Taz vs. Sabu, one-on-one.
26:33But the Taz thinks he's done with the Beast from the East Bam Bam Bigelow. I've got a hunch he's wrong. Bigelow is a juggernaut and is insistent that he did not tap at Heat Wave 98.
26:46When we come back, it's one of the biggest stories of the year. A major defection from the World Wrestling Federation to Extreme Championship Wrestling.
26:57But before we go to a break, that's now is the time to get a word, get an opinion, get the viewpoint of the man embroiled in all the controversy from Heat Wave 98 referee John Finnegan.
27:12Let's get his comments about the conclusion of the Taz-Bigelow matchup from Heat Wave 98.
27:20This is John Finnegan, referee for the Bam Bam Bigelow Taz match at Heat Wave 98.
27:25From my vantage point on that runway, Bam Bam Bigelow was tapping out. He was not reaching for those ropes.
27:30Are you kidding me?
27:42You knew about this.
27:43You're damn right I knew about it.
27:45What a cool kid.
27:47Dino has pulled off.
27:48He's got his fiancee.
27:50Tamara Lensix.
27:53Welcome back to Extreme Championship Wrestling.
28:06Before the break, we alluded to a major defection from the World Wrestling Federation to Extreme Championship Wrestling.
28:14Chris Candido's fiancee, Tamara Lensix, that's the name on her birth certificate, her driver's license and her passport, has reared her lovely head here in ECW more than once always to further the career of her fiancee, Chris Candido, while at the same time furthering her own career, mostly in the World Wrestling Federation.
28:43Well, apparently, that is no longer the case, and Miss Sitch is here at ECW to stay.
28:52That's all we're going to say here on television.
28:54There will be a very in-depth analysis on how this situation developed, including and especially information that no one else has access to on the Hardcore Hotline 900-990-4ECW.
29:10Now, the WWF's loss is maybe not ECW's, but Chris Candido's gain.
29:18And that was evident at Heat Wave 98.
29:21We were set for an old-fashioned grudge match between the former ECW World Tag Team Champions, Chris Candido and Lance Storm.
29:31Towards the end of the matchup, a matchup that Tammy did get involved in despite the fact that she wasn't scheduled to be at Heat Wave 98, she handed powder to her fiance Candido.
29:44But Storm wound up knocking the powder into the eyes of Candido, blinding him.
29:49Lance Storm nailed Chris Candido with the super kick and began climbing the turnbuckles.
30:00Then Tammy was massaging.
30:05Remember, I'm not part of this generation really.
30:07I watched C-SPAN on MTV.
30:09She was massaging somewhere between his hamstring and his lower back.
30:13I guess his buttocks, okay, his buttocks.
30:15Back to the clips.
30:16And Storm fell forward getting crotched on the top turnbuckle.
30:22Referee Jim Molyneux, who had been knocked down by Chris Candido, came to, saw Tammy in the ring.
30:29Tammy shoved referee Jim Molyneux.
30:32He went to grab her.
30:34And at that moment, Chris Candido, schoolboy Jim Molyneux.
30:38And, well, Tammy's, her dress came.
30:43Shameless plug.
30:44This videotape is going to be a very hot item.
30:48Back to the clips again.
30:52So Candido, schoolboy Jim Molyneux.
30:55Remember, Lance Storm was crotched on the top turnbuckle.
30:58At this point, Chris Candido, now with his vision back, climbs the turnbuckle.
31:03Hooks Lance Storm and nails him with the top rope powerbomb.
31:08A finishing maneuver he named a long time ago.
31:12The blonde bombshell named after, of all people, his fiancee, Tammy Sitch.
31:19Well, there you have it.
31:21Chris Candido and his fiancee, now in ECW to stay, Tammy Sitch, the victorious couple at ECW's Heat Wave 98.
31:34Hey Candido, the only reason you beat me at Heat Wave 98 is because you caught me off guard.
31:38Surprised me a little when you bring Tammy to the ring with you.
31:41But hey, let's be honest.
31:42I had you beat.
31:43I'm up there on the top rope.
31:44She comes in, starts grabbing my ass.
31:47Grabbing my ass.
31:48And hey, she got a little excited.
31:49Grabbed a little too hard.
31:50I lost my balance.
31:51But hey, let's be honest.
31:52The only reason she's grabbing my ass and not your ass is because, hey, I got a nicer ass than you.
31:58And that's not coming from me, that's coming from her.
32:01And speaking of coming from her, this Saturday night in the arena, after I'm done kicking your ass, I'm going to take your old lady, hey, let's be honest, my old lady, home with me.
32:11Rubbing my ass?
32:15Who is that guy?
32:16I mean, Lance Storm was skim milk and vanilla wafers, and now he's cream brulee?
32:24Quite frankly, he made a charming mute.
32:26Nevertheless, this Saturday night at the world infamous ECW Arena, it's a rematch from Heat Wave 98.
32:35Former ECW World Tag Team Champions collide once again.
32:40It's Chris Candido versus...
32:43Rubbing my ass?
32:45Lance Storm plus Taz versus Sabu.
32:50Hopefully the issue between these two will finally be settled this Saturday night.
32:55Hey, how's this for a matchup?
32:57Mr. Monday Night Rob Van Dam, one half of the World Tag Team Champions, also the World Television Champion, puts the TV title on the line against up-and-comer Jerry Lin.
33:09And, it gets better, we go from great wrestling to all hell breaking loose, the weapons match that was postponed from Heat Wave 98, one-on-one for the very first time.
33:22Finally, Jack Victory against the original Gangsta New Jack.
33:28All weapons are legal.
33:31New Jack and Jack Victory are encouraging fans to bring weapons to the ECW Arena.
33:39Please, fans, use discretion and some good old-fashioned common sense between now and Saturday night when choosing objects that you'd like to give to New Jack and Jack Victory.
33:55Please!
33:56Again, that is this Saturday night at the ECW Arena, and it's not over yet.
34:04There's more, because Masato Tanaka wants another piece of Mike Awesome.
34:10Mike Awesome is furious after what happened in Heat Wave 98, and that war continues as well this Saturday night at the world-famous ECW Arena.
34:21July 3rd, Queens, New York City.
34:26Masato Tanaka is powerbombed over the top rope through a table by Mike Awesome.
34:35Tanaka vows revenge.
34:38It was at Heat Wave 98 Live on pay-per-view that Masato Tanaka vows back.
34:51And it was at Heat Wave 98 Live on pay-per-view that Masato Tanaka vows revenge for next year.
35:03It was at HeatWave98 Live on Pay-Per-View that Masato Tanaka showed up with bloodthirst in his eyes.
35:13And Awesome Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka tore the house down with a war the likes of which had very seldom ever been seen before.
35:25And Masato Tanaka finally got his chance to re-seat Mike Awesome and power-bombed him over the top rope, threw a table on top of his head onto the concrete floor.
35:40But Awesome kicked out. Tanaka had to utilize the Tornado DDT on top of two chairs to beat Mike Awesome.
35:49Tanaka, I give you credit. You power-bombed me over that top rope, threw a table, on the cement floor, on the back of my head.
36:07Well, you made one fatal mistake. You left me alive.
36:13They say you can take more punishment than any man can dish out.
36:18Well, that's a good thing, because this Saturday night, I plan on dish out a whole hell of a lot of it.
36:26And I'm going to prove to you and the rest of the world just how awesome I can be.
36:32One of the most eagerly anticipated matches at the 1998 ECW Heat Wave Pay-Per-View
36:42was the match that would determine who would have the bragging rights
36:47to be the winner of the feud between Justin Credible and Jerry Lynn.
36:53These two concluded their summer series with a match that can only be described as a mad classic.
37:07Neither man was willing to back down from the other, and both men tore into each other with a passion seldom seen anywhere in the wrestling world anymore.
37:24Justin Credible and Jerry Lynn put on a wrestling clinic as both men were determined to be declared the winner of the 1998 Summer Series.
37:41Jerry Lynn took out Jason.
37:46He took out Nicole Bass.
37:50Jerry Lynn took out Jastity, and just when he was about to finish off Justin Credible,
38:01Justin hit, that's incredible, from the second turnbuckle.
38:07In what could only be described as a miracle, Lynn did not suffer a broken neck,
38:13but Justin Credible emerged victorious, the winner of the Summer Series.
38:24You can start taping now.
38:29Jerry Lynn, were you surprised that I beat you in the Summer Series?
38:34Jerry Lynn, you're history, you're finished, you're done!
38:39Me, on the other hand, I'm just getting started.
38:43You're looking at the next ECW television champion,
38:47the next FTW champion,
38:49and the next ECW world heavyweight champion.
38:54Do you think for one minute there wasn't a damn level I wouldn't stoop to?
38:59You, you think there's nothing that I wouldn't sacrifice?
39:06Ow!
39:08I know what you're thinking.
39:10You're thinking that was cold.
39:12Oh, I'm cool.
39:14I'm calculated.
39:16And look at me.
39:18I'm the greatest thing going today.
39:21Because I'm not just cool.
39:23I'm not just magnificent.
39:25I'm not just the best.
39:27Brother, I'm just incredible!
39:31At Heat Wave 98,
39:38the number one contenders from Japan,
39:40Hayabusa and Jinzei Shinzaki,
39:43known to you American wrestling fans as Hakushi,
39:46challenged the ECW world tag team champions,
39:49Sabu,
39:50and Mr. Monday Night,
39:51the world television champion,
39:53Rob Van Dam.
39:56Shinzaki and Hayabusa,
39:57one of, if not the only team in the world
40:00who can match Van Dam and Sabu in every way,
40:03including and especially when it comes to high-flying aerial offense.
40:08All four athletes threw caution to the wind
40:11with the world tag team title belts up for grabs live on pay-per-view.
40:18In the end,
40:18with leg drops off of opposite turnbuckles,
40:21Rob Van Dam and Sabu successfully retained the world tag team titles
40:27when Sabu,
40:29not Rob Van Dam,
40:31made the cover
40:32and scored the pinfall
40:34on Jinzei Shinzaki.
40:37Heat Wave 98,
40:38Daddy,

40:53The night's over,
40:54and I'm still a world champion.
40:55I mean, we're still world champions.
40:57We're still wearing my belts
40:59because we defended them tonight.
41:01Hey, I know I'm a little banged up in the face,
41:03but I don't mind taking a little bit of an ass kicking
41:05to kick some ass.
41:07And by the way,
41:08Rob Van Dam smoked some ass tonight,
41:10and Sabu, you were great too.
41:12And besides,
41:13I mean, these, you know,
41:14what is it,
41:14a cut, a black eye,
41:16fat lip,
41:17I don't mind.
41:17It's going to go away in a couple days.
41:20It's not like I'm some scarred up loser for life.
41:22Hey, no offense, Sabu.
41:24I mean, don't take that personally.
41:26Damn, look at that one.
41:27Hey, check this out.
41:28The night's over.
41:29I'm still the bomb.
41:31I'm still the best.
41:32I'm still Rob Van Dam.
41:34Sabu's better half,
41:36better partner,
41:37the half of the world tag team champions.
41:40Hey, I'm still the whole show.

41:55For richer, for poorer.
42:25It's sickness and it helps.
42:33For good times and it bad.
42:37And done less.
42:42Till death do us part.
42:46Hey, we can get this going now.
42:48We ain't got to wait.
42:51We ain't got to wait.
42:55We ain't got to wait.
42:57We ain't got to wait.
42:59We ain't got to wait.
42:59We ain't got to wait.

43:18Come here, man, come here.
43:20Come here.
43:20We ain't got to wait.
43:21We ain't got to wait.
43:23New Jack? I guess he's got a prior engagement. I don't think he'll be here. And Beulah? I don't
43:49think she's going to be walking around anywhere near the Dudley boys. The way I see it, once
43:56the Dudleyville street fight begins, there's nobody left to save the Sandman, Spike Dudley,
44:03and poor, pathetic Tommy Dreamer. Tommy Dreamer! The savior of the wrestling industry! Crucified
44:15for the sins of Beulah McGillicuddy! Dreamer, you can give your soul to Jesus, but your ass
44:28belongs to the Dudleys! That ring is our church! These are our colors! 3-D is our cross! And
44:46tonight, Tommy Dreamer, it's your cross to bear and testify!
44:57Sunday night, August 2nd, live on pay-per-view, ECW Heat Wave 98 saw Tommy Dreamer finally get
45:06revenge on the Dudley- I said stop that tape! You hold this! Let's get something perfectly
45:12straight around here! Nobody, but nobody, gives a about Tommy Dreamer and that and that
45:18broken neck! Francine, would you walk off and out of this sport if somebody broke your neck?
45:23Not a shot. I'd manage in a wheelchair.
45:25Exactly! And that's my point! That's my stinking point! You don't think I'd feel the heat rising
45:32up the back of my ass and... Shabu is trying to steal victories off of Rob Van Damme! Trying to
45:38amass enough victories to get a shot at me! Rob Van Damme is starting a trophy self! Trying
45:44to amass enough belts and make himself a World Heavyweight Champion! Taz! You go out! You make yourself a belt!
45:54Call yourself a World Heavyweight Champion! And my friend, what you are is making yourself a moron in this sport! A pretender to this
46:03damn throne! Five years ago! Five long years ago Taz! I made this organization! I put this organization
46:13on the map! And you, you make a living in it because of me! You have a place to call yourself EFTW Champion
46:21because of me! This organization is here today because of me! And Taz, let me just fill that little thick skull of yours with some information!
46:30You did not beat! Contrary to what you said, you little jackass! You did not make Bam Bam Bigelow tap! You did not make him tap!
46:40Look at his eyes! Look at his hand! He was reaching for the rope! You got it! You got it! We ain't done here now!
46:50Now the Triple Threat makes its claim! We stake our claim! This Saturday night, Francine and I have a secret! We got a little surprise Taz!
47:00This Saturday night! This Saturday night! In the ECW Arena! Bam Bam Bigelow!
47:04Chris Candido! Francine are gonna make damn sure you don't get your hands on me until I'm damn ready!
47:10Because Taz! The ECW World Heavyweight Title! Is my belt! My belt! My belt!
47:20Get out!
