00:00Well, the New South Wales coroner will continue hearing from representatives of Centre Group
00:07and Glad Group, the companies which run the Bondi Junction Westfield Shopping Centre and
00:13the security subcontractor there at the centre as well.
00:16The coroner has been hearing about the immediate security response to Joel Couchy's stabbing
00:23attack and yesterday heard that an armed attacker alarm system didn't ring out through the shopping
00:29centre until about 15 minutes after attacker Joel Couchy was shot dead by Police Inspector
00:35Amy Scott.
00:36We heard from witnesses from the centre management group saying that of course in hindsight they
00:43would have liked to have done things differently but at the time it felt like it had gone very
00:48very quickly.
00:50We of course know that tragically one of these security officers who responded to Joel Couchy's
00:55attack for us to hear was killed on that day, another of his colleagues was injured and
01:02so this is no doubt very difficult evidence for colleagues of those men to be giving, very
01:08difficult evidence for those involved to be hearing as well.
01:12And so the coroner will continue looking at the immediate security response to the attack
01:18throughout today, she's also expected to this week continue hearing evidence from further
01:23NSW Police and NSW Ambulance witnesses as well.
01:29This is the second of five weeks of hearings as the coroner continues to investigate the tragedy
01:37in Bondi Junction Westfield last April.
01:41There will no doubt be many more questions to be asked and answered as this investigation
01:46continues.
