00:00Okay, action!
00:06I decided to revisit How to Train Your Dragon because
00:09I want you to feel the thrill of flying on top of a dragon
00:14But also the fear that you could fall
00:18Dragon fire is hot
00:20Enemy dragons mean near-death situations
00:24I want that thrill to deliver that level of immersion and excitement
00:28It's time hiccups
00:30And it meant we had to build the island of Berk
00:45Going into the arena for the first time I remember Dean was like
00:47Really amp up how cool this is and walking in and we were like
00:50We don't need to do that, it's really cool
00:54I am here in this world
00:57With all that energy and I love that
01:00Experiencing those sets that then are dressed and are lit
01:04And have, you know, torches on fire in the Great Hall
01:07People get caught up in that energy and they believe in the story
01:11We are the warriors of Berk
01:14This is the first time we are actually filming in the village of Berk
01:18The village, I think it was 15-20 houses
01:22It really looks alive with Vikings running around in chaos
01:25See? Lots and lots of new houses
01:28It's one thing to sit there and draw or paint or even create in a computer
01:33But to be able to build it and with the attention to craftsmanship and the love that goes into every detail
01:39It allows the audience to get even more richly involved with Hiccup and Toothless
01:44Everything was made with such love and it's such a heartfelt story
01:48Especially on the big screen on the live action scale
01:51Having the opportunity to do this kind of world building and to revisit characters but with a fresh spin
02:01Is just super exciting to me because I know where the heart of this story is
02:05You ready?
02:06It's a wonder to be a part of and I am thrilled
02:10This is Berk
