00:00do you reckon you could take tom hardy in a fight at this point oh god yeah obviously me next
00:05question kill them all it looks like you guys shoot up pretty bad jake well it's kind of hard
00:14to dodge a washing machine tom plays this sort of like you know maverick rogue top you're his very
00:20sharp grounded partner how did you go about establishing that dynamic with each other yeah
00:25that's interesting because you could argue why does she trust walker he's downright rude to her at the
00:30start and doesn't take her seriously and undermines her so we're looking for an assault rifle ray do
00:36you see an assault rifle i don't see a assault rifle so it for me i kind of had this thought that in
00:42order for us to understand why she does what you know why she trusts him and why she wants to help
00:48him um you know there needed to be like a mutual understanding between the two of them like a sort
00:54of an unspoken kindred spirit because i came on to havoc i think a few weeks after they started so
01:01they were filming the big um nightclub scene and so i came on after that so already you know the
01:07characters have been established and everyone been working so i was able to watch tom and see what he
01:12was doing with walker and kind of take little elements of that ellie's physicality i wanted it
01:17to kind of mirror walkers the way she walks the way she looks at things the way she holds people's
01:22gaze i think a lot of that was informed by what tom was doing it was kind of like this idea that
01:26maybe at some point walker was more like ellie but the trajectory that he went on based on his
01:32decisions has led him to be this person now um but there's this kind of like slightly maverick side
01:39to ellie as well that i think again we spoke about she's trying to sort of hold it down a little bit but
01:44yeah where it comes through people out there looking for you
01:51it's a bit of a gay ship from some of your previous roles did you do many of your own stunts for this
01:56i did yeah that was one of the really exciting things for me because there's so much performance
02:00to put in there in these moments like for example again we never really no one really says it for
02:06sure but the idea was it was ellie's first day which is why she's still in uniform it's her first day
02:11you know she should be in plain clothes she's not it's like turning up to school
02:15on like own clothes day but you're in your uniform you know what i mean it's like yeah the nightmare
02:20the nightmare nothing that ellie does should look slick because walker's there to look he's
02:26practiced he's like he's a machine like a machine yeah he's done this before so that's where i kind
02:31of felt like it was important to completely not mirror walker in these moments where like ellie's a bit more
02:37she's reactive and she's not been in this situation yeah before really in real life she's probably been
02:43like a beat cop you know before this she hasn't had people shooting her in a stairwell and things i
02:48wanted it to feel like she was like really um present in that and to be able to take ownership
02:55of that and be able to do the stunt and have the performance and help that tell the story do you
02:59reckon you could take tom hardy in a fight at this point oh god i feel like i was asked this before and i was like
03:06yeah obviously me next question i'd win who do i think i am um absolutely not tom is like the jujitsu
03:15you know champ so i feel like um i'm just asking for trouble if i go around
03:23you could get some slaps in for sure i mean i'm pretty i'm pretty nimble pretty quick you have no idea
03:28what i did you've spoken before about having adhd obviously acting is such a spontaneous and
03:34impulsive craft like how do you see your adhd is influencing your approach to acting i feel like the
03:40more i meet actors the more everyone's neurodivergent not everyone but you know it's it's quite common i
03:46think for lots of artists and people who work in this industry to be neurodivergent i think the more
03:51people talk about the conversations had the more people like oh i'm like that too i guess it's
03:57difficult answering that question because it's just it's just how i am you could say that my ability to
04:04i can really hyper focus on things um i'm very detail oriented so things like continuity and stuff
04:12i'm good with that i'm good at remembering what i did last time and exactly what you just asked me to do
04:17you know or whatever it might be so and just this ability to keep going i think when you're doing
04:23something it's a very you know you grow up on the spectrum your ability to hyper fixate and just
04:29continually do the thing you really love doing like that is a keep going for 24 hours probably doing the same scene
