00:00As you can hear, it's Bev Turner getting very excited to visit GB News for a family and we love to share the successes and triumphs of all those in it and our wonderful partner, Olivia Utley, who's been away, stepping into her new role as a mum to healthy baby boy, Wilfred George Dunnett Stone, more affectionately known as Wilfie.
00:19And here's Olivia.
00:20Oh, Olivia.
00:22Honestly, I'm not so keen with dogs in this studio, but this is my idea of heaven.
00:27She's loving it.
00:28Gorgeous. Thank you so much for bringing him in.
00:31Oh, it's such a pleasure.
00:32The GB News viewers and listeners, we just want to know, how are you?
00:35Oh, I'm so good. I'm so grateful for everyone's lovely comments and so much support from all the GB News viewers.
00:41It really does. Yeah, Wilfie likes that too.
00:44Yeah, I'm really, really loving it, having the best time.
00:47He's four and a half months now. I think he's drooling on your drugs.
00:49I don't mind baby drool.
00:51And yeah, we're having such a wonderful time.
00:54He was born just before Christmas, so we had Christmas at home with him, which was really, really lovely.
00:59He's not a bad sleeper, are you, darling?
01:01Yeah.
01:02And he's got lots of doting grandparents.
01:05So, yeah, we're all loving it.
01:06And I was wondering, actually, before you came in today, sort of as a political editor, you talk all the time about all the big issues on this show, don't you?
01:13On this channel, NHS and education and crime and maternity services.
01:19Are you seeing things a little differently now that you're a mom?
01:22Absolutely.
01:23I mean, particularly crime.
01:24The area we live in in London is sort of fun, up and coming part of London.
01:29I won't name it.
01:30I don't want to offend people who live there too.
01:31But I have really, really noticed just how dangerous it can be in some ways.
01:38And, you know, the things that I turned a blind eye to before when walking down the street, the kind of stolen line bikes, the low-level crime everywhere, the bacon in locked plastic boxes in Tesco because there's so much shoplifting.
01:50I've really noticed that so much more.
01:52And it makes me sort of rethink where we want to live, where we want to sort of settle down in the future.
01:59As for the NHS, I mean, I'd very luckily never really been exposed to the NHS at all in my life before he was born.
02:06And now suddenly I realise, you know, obviously just how important it is.
02:10We talk about these long waiting lists for GPs, et cetera.
02:13And I was thinking about it in my job and in a very theoretical sense.
02:17And now I really feel it.
02:19Well, what happens if he does get ill?
02:20And I have to wait weeks and weeks to see my GP.
02:24So far, I have to say, Lewisham Hospital was fantastic.
02:27Our local GP has been very good.
02:30But I know that that's not the case around the country.
02:32And I do feel it so much more, I think, as a parent.
02:34I think at some point soon, I guess, if you're school.
02:37Schools, I know.
02:39And I've been walking past, there's a school right at the end of my road.
02:42Walked past it so many times, never thought anything about it.
02:45Now I'm Googling all the Ofsted reports.
02:47And, yeah, I mean, it's very keen for him to go to one of those academies, which seem to be so good.
02:54I wonder what's going to happen with those.
02:56But, yeah, I've got my eye on the ball so much more.
02:58And are you missing us?
02:59Are you missing work?
03:00I am, you know.
03:01I'm so clueless about politics at the moment.
03:05Barely know who the Prime Minister is.
03:06Shake it all up.
03:07Shake it all up.
03:11That's what I was thinking for the last sort of few months.
03:14I was totally oblivious and then tuned into the local elections and it got a bit more exciting.
03:18But, yeah, this weekend when I was sort of reading the news for the first time genuinely in about four months,
03:23I did start to get quite excited about coming back and seeing you all again and using my brain for something other than nap times and nappies.
03:32If you're used to a sort of very intellectually stimulating job and you have to be on your A game, it can be quite different being at home with a little baby.
03:39Can't it even when you are a little baby, darling?
03:41Gorgeous as well.
03:43A little cracker.
03:45Gorgeous.
03:45Absolutely gorgeous.
03:47My mum would say, Bonnie boy.
03:49Ah, that's what my mum says as well, yeah.
03:51Bonnie.
03:52That's what my mum would say, Bonnie boy.
03:53Pink little jinx and big bald head.
03:55Yeah.
03:56He's absolutely beautiful.
03:57Well, we have missed you, Olivia.
03:59We are looking forward to you.
04:01You're not coming back straight away, though, are you?
04:02You've got a few more months.
04:03A few more months left.
04:04Coming back at the end of the summer.
04:06Right.
04:06Oh, you'll be back in time for the party.
04:07Back in time for the party conferences.
04:09You are so excited like that.
04:10My birthday is the birthday of a Conservative Party conference.
04:13Back with a bang.
04:14Poor you.
04:16He's got a very tight grip.
04:18Ooh.
04:18And there's pretty powerful lungs, I'd say.
04:20Pretty powerful lungs when they want.
04:21Absolutely.
04:22He's been very good, haven't you, Wilfie?
04:23Well, we are honoured that you've chosen Britain's Newsroom to come back and introduce Wilf to us.
04:28In GB News socks for the occasion.
04:30The GB News family.
04:31There are, well, Emily Carver's not far behind you.
04:33I know, we're so excited about that.
04:35There are a few big ones in that office right now, actually.
04:36So, it's wonderful.
04:38We're doing our bit.
04:38You're getting all broody, though.
04:39Well, I think that, yeah.
04:42Anyway, but, you know, they are gorgeous.
04:44It's quite nice, though, once you've been through it, to be able to play with them and then hand them back, Olivia.
04:48That is really lovely.
04:49But you're doing your bit for the population decline.
04:52Absolutely, yeah.
04:53Take you on one baby at a time.
04:55Well, he's absolutely gorgeous.
04:57Let me do that as well.
04:58See, women, mums can multitask.
04:59Right, Olivia and Wil, thank you so much.
