00:00After 9-11, the 9-11 Commission convened and one of their key recommendations was to improve
00:25identification of those using the air transportation network.
00:28So this Real ID Act was signed in 2005, we've been endeavoring to launch it since then.
00:45So when you go to that Motor Vehicle Commission, to get that Real ID driver's license you have
00:49to provide a lot more documentation that provides a higher degree of certainty that that individual
00:55identity is exactly accurate.
00:58There are other forms of Real ID such as passports, passports cards, and I refer anyone who has
01:03any questions on what is an acceptable Real ID to TSA.gov for a full list.
01:10Well, if you have a Real ID and it's compliant with the law, it'll be business as usual.
01:24If you do not, that individual should be aware that they could be subjected to additional
01:30enhanced screening at the checkpoint.
01:31So that may cause a slight delay for them.
01:34So they make that into their time and travel plans.
01:37We have tremendous flexibility to provide additional screening above and beyond what would normally
01:53be done at the checkpoint.
01:54And so we have a menu of items that we have the ability to use.
01:57I won't get into detail on all of those.
01:59But they are processes that we have used in the past and that we use today.
02:03And they will just be added on to the normal checkpoint screening process.
02:07So it will be unpredictable to the passenger.
02:12I mean, people have had plenty of time to get prepared for it.
02:22I don't object to it.
02:35That's fine.
02:36It's perfect.
02:37I've been waiting five years.
02:38I mean, I've had it for five years at least.
02:39So back when they first started talking about it and it was a good idea back then.
02:45And I don't remember the deadlines, but we got it right away.
02:48It didn't matter.
02:52I think it's good to have, I mean, it's different to have a driver's license, I think,
03:04than a personal ID because all your information is in it.
03:08So it's better, you know.
03:22You know, I question the bureaucracy around it.
03:24It feels like a tax on everyday people having to upgrade their licenses and all of their identification
03:30for something that really, you know, seems like we've been fine without it.
03:35So it's a question.
03:37And this is a good thing.
03:43What?
03:43Remember what?
03:44That was a good question.
03:46We're going to ask you, because it doesn't matter.
03:47It's a good question.
03:47I'm going to ask you could take us a shot.
03:48I'll ask you if I don't want to answer the question.
03:50I'm going to ask you if I just did?
03:52You know, what?
03:53What?
03:54The question is, I don't want to ask you guys.
03:55You know, what?
03:56I'm going to ask you right now.
03:57So as you can't get us back to this.
03:57This is the question.
03:59Maybe you can't get out of my mind.
