00:06responding to our invitation I am Marta Tmeidu chief observer of the European
00:12Union election observation mission to the Philippines and member of the European
00:16Parliament today the European Union election observation mission to the
00:21Philippines deployed 104 short-term observers across the country this marks
00:28the deployment of the third group of European Union observers following the
00:34arrival of a 14 of analysis and at the end of March and the deployment of 72
00:42long-term observers in mid-April in the coming days a delegation of the European
00:48Parliament and the further 21 accredited members of the diplomatic community
00:53accredited in the Philippines will join the mission in total on election day
00:59European Union election observation mission will deploy a total of 226
01:06observance from all the 27 member states Canada Norway and Switzerland they will
01:13cover all regions of their destinations several teams will continue their
01:19journey by ferry or boat and are expected to arrive in their base later this
01:24evening or tomorrow I will remain in contact with them over the coming days I
01:31will also be observing on election day and we'll hold a press point to update you
01:38on our observation activities you are all invited to be there with us but most
01:45importantly you are warmly invited to the presentation of the preliminary
01:50statements on the 14 May two days after the election day at our headquarters in
01:57Manila our preliminary statements will be a public document I will be but it will be
02:03published on our website distributed to the press and made available to all
02:09Philippine citizens and the authorities a final report as you know with
02:15recommendations will be presented in the country approximately two months after
02:21elections the recommendations will be the legacy of this of our mission of this
02:26mission and they are offered to the consideration of people and authorities in
02:31the same spirit of cooperation and partnership with the Philippines that
02:36marks our presence in the country since our arrival
