00:00Regardless of anything, we're going to be friends with Canada.
00:03Canada is a very special place to me.
00:06I know so many people that live in Canada.
00:09My parents had relatives that lived in Canada, my mother in particular.
00:14And no, I love Canada.
00:16I have a lot of respect for the Canadians, Wayne Gretzky, I mean, the great one.
00:23You happen to have a very, very good hockey player right here on the Capitals who I have
00:28a lot of his.
00:29A big, tough cookie too, just broke the record.
00:32And he's a great guy.
00:33And we had the team here and I got to know a lot of the players.
00:38But now Canada is a very special place.
00:41Yeah, please.
00:42Mr. President, Mr. Prime Minister, I'd like to get your response to this too, but Mr. President,
00:47you have said that Canada should become the 51st state.
00:50No, no.
00:51Well, I still believe that, but it takes two to tango, right?
00:57But no, I do.
00:58I believe it would be a massive tax cut for the Canadian citizens.
01:02You get free military, you get tremendous medical cares and other things.
01:08There would be a lot of advantages, but it would be a massive tax cut.
01:14And it's also a beautiful, you know, as a real estate developer, you know, I'm a real estate
01:18developer at heart.
01:20When you get rid of that artificially drawn line, somebody drew that line many years ago
01:23with like a ruler, just a straight line right across the top of the country.
01:28When you look at that beautiful formation when it's together, I'm a very artistic person.
01:33But when I looked at that beauty, I said, that's the way it was meant to be.
01:37But you know, I guess I do feel it's much better for Canada, but we're not going to be discussing
01:45that unless somebody wants to discuss it.
01:46I think that there are tremendous benefits to the Canadian citizens, tremendously lower
01:52taxes, free military, which honestly, we give you essentially anyway, because we're protecting
01:57Canada if you ever had a problem.
01:59But I think, you know, it would really be a wonderful marriage because it's two places
02:06that get along very well.
02:07They like each other a lot.
02:09Well, if I may, as you know from real estate, there are some places that are never for sale.
02:17That's true.
02:17We're sitting in one right now, you know, Buckingham Palace, you visited as well.
02:21That's true.
02:22And having met with the owners of Canada over the course of the campaign last several months,
02:27it's not for sale, won't be for sale ever.
02:31But the opportunity is in the partnership and what we can build together.
02:36And we have done that in the past.
02:38And part of that, as the president just said, is with respect to our own security.
02:43And my government is committed for a step change in our investment in Canadian security and our
02:50partnership.
02:51And I'll say this as well, that the president has revitalized international security, revitalized
02:57NATO, and us playing our full weight in NATO.
03:00And that will be part of it.
03:02They have, I must say, Canada is stepping up the military participation because Mark knew,
03:13you know, they were low and now they're stepping it up.
03:15And that's a very important thing.
03:17But never say never, never say never.
03:19What would it take to get the tariffs off of Canada?
03:28Well, we'll be talking about different things.
03:30You know, we want to protect our automobile business.
03:34And so does Mark.
03:35But we want to protect, we want to make the automobiles.
03:38And we want to, you know, we have a tremendous abundance of energy more than any country.
03:43We have, just in Alaska alone, ANWR has been reopened now.
03:47ANWR is probably the largest find anywhere in the world.
03:49They say it's larger than Saudi Arabia.
03:51I don't know, but it's a lot.
03:53But we have tremendous amounts of energy.
03:56Other countries don't.
03:57We're both lucky in that way.
03:58They have energy.
03:59We have energy.
04:00We have more than we can ever use and more than we could ever sell, actually.
04:04And you have the same thing.
04:06So we're two countries that are very lucky.
04:08If you look at China, they don't have that.
04:09You know, it's a big disadvantage.
04:11Other countries, most countries don't have, you know, most countries don't have that.
04:15So Canada and us, we have a lot of advantages over other places.
04:21Mr. President, when you consider what Mr. Carney just said, that Canada is not for sale,
04:29does this make the discussion a little more difficult to start on?
04:32No, not at all.
04:33No, not at all.
04:34No, time.
04:35Time will tell.
04:36It's only time.
04:37But I say, never say never.
04:40I've had many, many things that were not doable, and they ended up being doable.
04:44And only doable in a very friendly way.
04:46But if it's to everybody's benefit, you know, Canada loves us and we love Canada.
04:52That's, I think, the number one thing that's important.
04:55But we'll see.
04:56I mean, over time, we'll see what happens.
04:58I'm Steve Doocy.
04:59I'm Brian Kilmeade.
