00:00And we'll start with the Nuggets because, of course, you're going to have Jason on in a few minutes.
00:04So I figured before you talk to Jason, you got to hear the final call that he did last night.
00:10Nuggets beat the Thunder 121-119.
00:14They take a 1-0 series lead on OKC.
00:17Of course, Holmgren missing the free throws at one end.
00:22And then Aaron Gordon, the winner for the Nuggets, Nuggets Radio, Altitude Sports, Jason Kosmitsky, here for you.
00:30This will be a huge miss.
00:31Second free throw, Holmgren.
00:33Missed it again.
00:35Rebound down to Christian Brown.
00:36You got to hurry.
00:37Eight, seven seconds.
00:38Front court over to Westbrook.
00:39Left side, Gordon for the win.
00:41Yeah!
00:432.8 seconds left coming back the other way.
00:46Williams from half court.
00:48Baked it no good at the horn.
00:49And the Denver Nuggets shock the Oklahoma City Thunder in game number one.
00:57Yeah, it was a great ending.
00:59Both nights, or games last night, were great endings.
01:03You had the, you know, Knicks steal that game.
01:07And then you had the same thing in game two.
01:10Both games were incredible.
01:12It was the best night of the NBA playoffs.
01:14I mean, bar none.
01:15Yeah, it is.
01:18Having both games be good and down to the wire has been a, it's been a rare thing for us with
01:25the NBA side of things.
01:27So getting both of them and both huge upsets, tremendous stuff.
01:31Here is, of course, Nuggets interim head coach David Adelman on the Nuggets rallying second
01:36half, getting the job done on the road.
01:38So important.
01:39And that's what I was talking about, the mentality.
01:40You know, it would have been really easy for me to come up here and say, we just played
01:44Saturday in a game seven.
01:46And we have all the excuses in the world.
01:48And we're so tired.
01:49And no, it's the playoffs.
01:51You only get a certain amount of chances out here.
01:53And you're right.
01:55Every time they got up, I never sensed, well, you know, we can play in two days.
02:00We can still even this thing up 1-1.
02:02No, this is our opportunity tonight.
02:04Live in the present in these moments.
02:06Now, these games are, they're so hard to win.
02:09And when you put yourself in a situation like this, like we did, don't waste your energy.
02:14You know, stay focused on what you're trying to accomplish.
02:17And you're right.
02:17Because we did that, we never let go of the rope because it felt like a few times it was
02:21close.
02:22Like they were about to blow this thing out in their building, which they do a lot.
02:25I mean, this is an amazing team that we're competing against with a great head coach,
02:29great players in depth.
02:31There's no doubt.
02:33And they got it done.
02:34I mean, what else is there to say?
02:36I mean, are we going to have champagne and some cake?
02:39Like it was a great game and a great ending and they didn't blow it.
02:44They got it done.
02:45They stole it.
02:47And I think they really sucker punched the thunder right in the Adam's apple.
02:52I mean, honestly, like that team won 68 games.
02:56Their executive is the, you know, just won the executive of the year, Presti.
03:01Everybody's getting accolades.
03:02You know, the MVP, Shea Gilgis is going to get it.
03:06Listen, I don't deny what he did this year was incredible.
03:10I don't deny.
03:13I guess I prefer that he gets it.
03:16I'm not going to deny that.
03:18I think he's had that kind of a season, but he's not better than this other guy.
03:23He's not better than Joker.
03:25Nobody is.
03:26Nobody is better than that guy.
03:30I mean, it's, in my opinion, it's not even close.
03:34Literally, that guy is the most dominating basketball player in the world, bar none.
03:42Now, and remember, I think he does it the easy way.
03:44Like he doesn't look like he's trying that hard.
03:47He just is in total control of his game.
03:51The other guy, I got to admit, and I love his game.
03:55I'm a big Shea Gilgis fan.
03:57But I think that he, he's kind of a ball hog.
04:02He just constantly shoots.
04:04I mean, he just constantly goes for it.
04:07And I don't have a problem with that.
04:09But the other guy doesn't even look like he tries.
04:12And he puts up these ungodly numbers.
04:15And he's just, he gets everyone involved.
04:18And he makes everyone eat and get better as a player.
04:24I mean, he makes everybody look like spectacular, doesn't he?
04:28The other guy, in my view, he just puts on a show.
04:32It's all about him.
04:34And I don't deny the rest of them are good.
04:36And I think Caruso, white boy Rick, my boy Hardenstein, J Will, they're all really good.
04:45But he's the featured attraction.
04:47I mean, he's the show off.
04:49He's a showboat.
04:50And he's a ball hog.
04:52He's got the ball in his hands the whole game.
04:54And the other guy, it's like you don't even notice that he's going 42-22.
04:58You don't even notice it.
04:59When is the last time you saw the guy miss a shot?
05:02I guess that air ball that Gordon dunks, first time I've seen him miss a shot.
05:06Because he doesn't miss anything inside.
05:09He has the softest touch of any big I've ever seen in my life, where the ball hits the rim, rolls around the rim, hits a glass.
05:15And where does it go?
05:16It always goes down.
05:1942-22 boards, six dimes, two blocks for the Joker last night.
05:24But afterwards, he was very proud of Aaron Gordon.
05:28Never likes talking about himself.
05:29He talks about others.
05:30Here's Joker.
05:31Yes, I mean, he had big free throws before that, so he made both of them.
05:37He had a big box out on Caruso, I think.
05:40Was it Caruso?
05:41And he made a really big shot for us, you know, and he deserves it.
05:50He's, like I said, he's the soul of this team.
05:53He's a blue guy.
05:54He probably doesn't give the much respect that he deserves.
05:57But I think he doesn't need, like, attention.
06:00So he knows what he's doing.
06:01So I'm happy for him.
06:02He's a badass, Gordon.
06:06He's a monster.
06:07He's a great player.
06:09And we talked about it on this show.
06:11His threes and his field goal percentages, everything, free throws, everything went up.
06:18And I'm not talking about up, like, five points.
06:20I'm talking 15, 20% up in everything on the season from last year.
06:27The guy worked on his game.
06:28He took his game to a whole other level this year from outside, from mid-range, and from the line.
06:35He was better across the board.
06:37He's become a real problem.
