00:44Prime Water, the Villar family's utility firm, has acquired operations of many water districts nationwide.
00:50Tiveros filed her Senate resolution on Monday, May 5,

01:11urging local governments to immediately initiate the pre-termination of joint venture agreements with Prime Water.
01:16It remains to be seen if the House and Senate leaders will go out of their way to schedule a hearing as the 19th Congress adjourns on June 13.
01:24Doing so could also mean upsetting Senator Cynthia Villar and House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar,
01:30who are both in the majority bloc.
01:33Stable rice prices trigger a five-year low in inflation.
01:37The Philippine Statistics Authority says inflation drops for the third month in a row, reaching 1.4% in April.
01:44The inflation slowed down last month amid easing food and oil prices from 1.8% in March.
01:49The decline in rice and vegetable prices helped counter the increase in electricity rates and light rail transit Line 1 fares.
01:57This keeps the Consumer Price Index below the government's target of 2% to 4%
02:01and brings the country's average inflation rate to 2% for the first four months of 2025.
02:06April's rate is the lowest since the 1.2% in November 2019.
02:10The continuing drop in inflation comes just weeks after the Banco Central ng Pilipinas lowered interest rates to 5.5%.
02:18The Taguig City government takes over different government facilities in the enlisted men's barrios or EMBOs on Tuesday, May 6.
02:27This following a Taguig Regional Trial Court order enforcing the Supreme Court's final and executory decision
02:34affirming that the EMBO barangays, which used to be under Makati City, are part of Taguig.
02:39The facilities covered by the decision include health centers, covered courts, multipurpose buildings,
02:44and other public properties designated for community use under Proclamation 518 and 1916.
02:50The temporary restraining order prohibits Makati from denying Taguig Entry 2
02:55and use of properties and facilities located in the EMBO barangays
02:58and from interfering with Taguig's full and exclusive possession and operation of said properties.
03:04EMBO barangays include the following.
