Ursprünglich bereits 2003 im Zuge des Hypes um Fluch der Karibik angekündigt, wurde es zwischenzeitlich jahrelang still um das Action-Adventure. Neben finanziellen Schwierigkeiten behinderte auch ein Rechtsstreit die Veröffentlichung des beinahe fertiggestellten Spiels.
