00:17Brooks was born in West Palm Beach, Florida. He stayed in his home state to go to college and
00:23attended Florida State University on a golf scholarship. He started his professional career
00:28on the Challenge Tour in Europe, winning his first event in September 2012 at the Challenge de Catalunya.
00:34He went on to win two more times on the Challenge Tour, thus granting him a European Tour card for
00:40the remainder of the 2013 season and the whole of the 2014 season. Koepka was the first golfer to ever
00:47win back-to-back majors at the same time. He did this by defending the US Open and the PGA Championship.
00:53He defended his 2017 US Open in 2018 and then defended his 2018 PGA Championship win in 2019.
01:03He became the 20th men's player to win two majors in a year and with these four majors, only two active
01:10golfers have more majors than him, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Koepka is only the fifth men's
01:15player in the history of golf to win the US Open and the PGA Championship in the same year. The others
01:22were Gene Sarrazen, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. Brooks started playing golf when he was
01:2710 years old. This was following a car crash that left him with facial injuries that meant he was
01:32banned from playing contact sports. His fiancee, who is often seen celebrating with him after victories,
01:38is actress Jenna Sims. She's been in films alongside the likes of Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro and Michael
01:45Douglas and she also runs an award-winning non-profit organisation called Pageant of Hope.
01:51After his CJ Cup victory in October 2018, Brooks Koepka became the world number one. In doing so,
01:58he became the 23rd man to top the rankings. Brooks' brother Chase Koepka is also a touring professional.
02:05Chase has played on the European and Challenge Tours and now competes on the PGA and Corn Ferry Tours.
02:11Koepka's great uncle Dick Grote played shortstop for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He won two World Series
