00:00Enough about next week, let's have a quick rewind to yesterday, five full throttle games
00:06in the William Hill Premiership.
00:30Jota Jot, inside three minutes, Hibernian are off and running once again.
00:38He's having another wonderful season, Martin Boyle.
00:42This is a terrific pass from Hoylett, a good run as well from Caden.
00:48His ball in causes the problems, and Declan Gallagher can only succeed
00:54in knocking it off Boyle, who knew very little about it.
01:00Here goes Kouharevic again, he could be away from Gallagher here,
01:07he's toiling to get back, Kouharevic!
01:10In off the post, and Hibs are two up.
01:17What a start to the game this has been from the home side.
01:21And already they're well on their way to a seventh straight home league win.
01:26It's such slack defending, though, from United, Kouharevic wasn't hanging about,
01:33he punches them for it.
01:34A chance for Will Ferry to put this into the danger area.
01:41Back post delivery, and United have got the goal back.
01:45It's a really good strike from Christian Trapanovsky,
01:51and just the start to the second half they would have wanted.
01:54Ferry's delivery causing the problems,
02:01and when Hibs couldn't get the ball clear,
02:04it's Kouharevic who takes a fresh air swing at it.
02:09And Trapanovsky kept his eye on the ball to hammer it past Smith.
02:24There's Bowie.
02:26Campbell's made a terrific run, can he find him?
02:29Here is Josh Campbell, tries to play it across goal, it comes back to Campbell.
02:34Gale's still waiting at the back post, instead it's Nicky Caden.
02:38And there is Gale to finish it off!
02:42The veteran poacher surely secures the three points for the home side.
02:48Dwight Gale, not long on the park, I thought the chance had gone,
02:56he continued to lurk, and the ball was delivered expertly by Nicky Caden.
03:03Dwight Gale did the rest.
03:12Clarkson digs out the cross, it was a good one as well!
03:19Ockles dumps it home, and Aberdeen are in front, and that could be a crucial goal!
03:25Should it stand?
03:27And if it does, it will be Yepa, Ockles' first goal in Aberdeen colours.
03:32Well, this is a fabulous ball from Leighton Clarkson.
03:36Was Nisbet in an offside position though, because he gets a flick on it.
03:42Ockles turned it home.
03:45The Dons fans celebrate for now.
03:49Oh, St Mirren going to get a reprieve.
03:52And Ross Hardy's coming over to have a look at it.
03:55Does it come off Nisbet's arm?
03:57Might have glanced off the top of his left hand, but...
04:01It looks as though Nisbet's hand has had an effect on the ball.
04:12Now he's made up his mind, no goal.
04:15Handball against Nisbet, St Mirren off the hook.
04:17And Gogic, a little bit careless on that occasion.
04:24Here goes Shinny, the ref's not interested in Shinny on Aberdeen's appeals on this occasion.
04:30Machine Smith, and Phillips, a foul by McGrath.
04:35The Saints want further punishment meted out to McGrath.
04:42It's his first foul, I'm not sure.
04:43Heard comes into that category.
04:47O'Hara with the free kick.
04:50And it breaks for Mandron!
04:52Who gives St Mirren the lead?
04:56They might just about have kept their European hopes alive.
05:00And made it all the more difficult for Aberdeen to finish top three.
05:06It's a seventh of the season for Mandron.
05:09Who helped himself to a couple at Petaudry.
05:12When these two last met, St Mirren proving they are far from done for this season.
05:17It's a simple ball in by O'Hara, which Aberdeen just couldn't defend.
05:22Mandron celebrates his new deal with the opening goal.
05:28And St Mirren looking to finish it off here.
05:30Mandron, to John, to Mandron!
05:34Haven't been up the pitch much since they took the lead.
05:37Defending comfortably up the other end, but
05:40Mandron looking to finish Aberdeen off there.
05:45It's a dowu.
05:47Mandron, and a dowu!
05:54That might be the last attempt on goal in the game, indeed it is!
05:58It's a hugely damaging defeat for Aberdeen.
06:02In the quest for third spot.
06:05But St Mirren season, far from over, perhaps European football's not beyond them.
06:12It finishes St Mirren one, Aberdeen nil.
06:17It's a big run of form.
06:19It's a big run of form.
06:20It's a big run of form, winless in five matches.
06:24Only scored once in that period, and Kenna has them backpedalling.
06:28This is Ronan Hale with the snapshots!
06:31A bolt from the Highlands Blue, under the pump, against the run of play.
06:42Ronan Hale sickens hearts, and frees life into Ross County's charge.
06:49He's Beningamy, Shanklins, oh, that's a clever touch, one-one.
06:58So often last season, situations just like that were finished in just as predatory fashion.
07:12It's only a sixth goal of the season, Lauren Shanklins.
07:14Lauren Shanklins, Hark's captain, rides to the rescue.
07:21Spittle, threading it through for Shanklins.
07:25Forrest, George Grant, is to check.
07:29Forrest up, Vargas, and Shanklins!
07:39He's back.
07:41Shanklins doubles up, and Hark's turned the tables on Ross County.
07:46This is what they've been missing all season.
07:49Penetration in the wide areas.
07:50Vargas with a clever teasing ball.
07:57Samuel loses out to Halkit.
08:01Shanklin chasing down Akil Wright, who loses his footing.
08:05Shanklin striding forward.
08:07Look at the run of Alan Forrest.
08:08This to seal the deal!
08:14And there are great sighs of relief being breathed all around Gorgie.
08:203-1 Hearts, surely the game.
08:23And with it, Premiership safety.
08:27It's an unfortunate slip from right.
08:28Shanklin's persistence rewarded.
08:31And once again, the skipper's fingerprints all over another Hearts goal.
08:35Forrest spurned a few today, but he wasn't going to pass that one up.
08:42Corner from Greaves.
08:45Hearts can't get rid of it.
08:47It's going to come back to the taker.
08:49One of Kenty got left.
08:50Stopped by Gordon, and Effetti!
08:56It may have been too little too late.
08:58But Effetti should have been bursting the net from there.
09:03A couple of tremendous deliveries.
09:04The first one across, the second a shot from Greaves wide on the left.
09:09Gordon standing tall, but Effetti has to score.
09:12It's a nice throw.
09:18Shot as he tries to go up there.
09:20Shout for a penalty, it won't matter!
09:22Portales with a finish!
09:25That is a stunning strike for his first league goal of the season.
09:29Well, he made it three times in the League Cup, but this is a stunner.
09:33One or two shouts for a penalty.
09:35But it breaks back off Halliday, and Portales finds the top corner.
09:42Stompage time.
09:44Ashley looking for a repeat of the last one.
09:47Breaks back again.
09:48Portales on the left foot this time!
09:52That is stunning!
09:54Well, it fell to him, he shuffled his body, and that's even better than the first goal.
10:03There's a VAR check, I think potentially for offside.
10:07And the referee is going to rule this out, and I'm wondering.
10:12Clark Robertson did try and come and play the ball.
10:16He stopped short, didn't actually go for it.
10:19That can be the only thing, it's a strike of beauty.
10:29Casey's header.
10:30Slattery, brilliantly away from Portales.
10:33Slattery, head up, that's towards Sparrow.
10:38Wins the header.
10:40Drops the inside, it could be a chance here!
10:43It was a kind break for Motherwell.
10:46Lennon Miller was in the middle, it seemed to break across.
10:49And Tom Sparrow, who was involved with that header, finishes this really well.
10:56Motherwell are level, their play in the second half has been excellent.
10:59And Tom Sparrow, who scored last week, takes advantage of the ball, falling his way.
11:08Okay, he's taken out.
11:10Referee's going to allow play to continue.
11:12I think there'll be a yellow card coming.
11:15It is a yellow card, it's the first card in his Motherwell career.
11:18I think Kevin Clancy's being called over by VAR, who is Callum Scott.
11:23And this will likely result in a red card, he's come over.
11:28And the stud's just into the knee.
11:32But I think the referee.
11:34Yep, there's the cancellation of the yellow, it's a red card.
11:37And Rick Thompson, advanced position.
11:50Thompson, play to the course.
11:51That's when he's saying!
11:55He gets the goal, he wasn't even favourite to get the header.
11:59But he got across Clark Robertson.
12:01And what a finish in stoppage time.
12:06And finally the manager can smile.
12:10Well, he looks second favourite for the speculative ball, but what a spring in the step
12:15from the Zimbabwean international.
12:17He dispatched with his jersey in celebration.
12:24Fraser Murray coming forward, enjoying his best season for Kilmarnik so far.
12:29He tries to play the ball to Endava.
12:33But Otis, closing down.
12:35The ball not completely away, shout for a hand ball, not given.
12:40Bobby Wales, good touch to lay it back to Endava.
12:43It's David Watson on the edge of the box, and he picks out the bottom corner!
12:50David Watson gives Kilmarnik the lead in Perth.
12:53Well, he's only been restored to the starting line-up in the last couple of weeks.
13:01And he repays that faith shown in him.
13:05A fine strike from a fine young midfielder.
13:08Just lacing the ball past Andy Fisher, a huge goal in Kilmarnik's season.
13:16And a huge goal for St Johnston to give away as well.
13:19They'll have to come from behind.
13:20Danny Armstrong.
13:29That's a lovely touch away from the defender.
13:32Could give the ball inside to Mackenzie.
13:34He slips it through now.
13:36Mackenzie goes down under the challenge of Victor Griffith.
13:38And Ian Sneddon not interested.
13:43I wonder what Derek McInnes will think of that when he watches it back.
13:48St Johnston, meanwhile, up the other end.
13:50Here's McPake against Mayo.
13:54Onto the right foot.
13:55Clipped in towards it, Piezou!
13:58Inches past the post.
14:01A huge opportunity for St Johnston to find an equaliser.
14:05But Ian Sneddon is going to come across to the screen.
14:09Well, they've missed the chance.
14:11And it might just be a penalty against them.
14:13Does Victor Griffith get any of the ball?
14:15Or does he just trip up Rory Mackenzie, the halftime sub?
14:22This one will be a penalty.
14:25Ian Sneddon points to the spot.
14:29Andy Fisher will have to try and stop this.
14:35It's a tight call.
14:36I don't think he gets the ball, though.
14:38The Panama international.
14:41Armstrong from the spot.
14:43And it's in.
14:44Well, it only just creeps in under the legs of Andy Fisher.
14:49Danny Armstrong doesn't care.
14:51Look at that celebration.
14:55Talk about passionate.
14:58Well, he maybe gets a little lucky.
15:00Andy Fisher not able to keep the ball out.
15:03Armstrong doubles Kelly's lead.
15:06It finishes in Perth.
15:07St Johnston nil.
15:09Kilmarnock two.
15:12What an eventful Saturday.
15:13Tonight, the William Hill Premiership table looks like this.
15:16Celtic are already champions.
15:18They're on 85 points.
15:2017 points clear of Rangers.
15:21Hibs third on 56 points.
15:23Aberdeen, Dundee United and St Murren jostling in the race for Europe.
15:27At the bottom, Dundee, Ross County and St Johnston.
15:31The trio with most to worry about.
15:33And, well, Lightning would strike twice for Antonio Portales for Dundee.
15:39And a real seconder for Dundee, obviously.
15:42But Stephen Naismith, in terms of the harsh laws of the game, was this right to be ruled out?
15:47I'm not sure it is.
15:48I don't think, I don't think Clark Robertson, when Thompson's going to clear the ball,
15:55I think it's Shaughnessy that's coming on to it.
15:58He's worried about, and that's why he doesn't fully clear it.
16:00I don't think he knows too much about where Robertson is.
16:04But it's an unbelievable strike and a massive sickener.
16:07Because Tony Dock after the game talks about how pivotal it was at that moment.
16:11And it was.
16:12It takes him 2-0 up in such tight games.
16:15It's, for me, it's the wrong decision.
16:17So not enough interfering with play to be, sort of, part of the offside equation in this?
16:24No, because I don't think he's, he's more focused on Shaughnessy, who's coming on.
16:28And that's what impacts him not to kick the ball cleanly.
16:31It's not so much Robertson that's at the back of him.
16:33That's where I, I cannae believe it was given.
16:36Peter?
16:37I agree 100%.
16:38No, honestly, there's no idea who's behind him.
16:42I agree with Stephen in the fact that Shaughnessy thinks he's going to put his foot up and the defender doesn't want to come through.
16:47And that's why he stopped.
16:48But an unbelievable finish.
16:49And that puts you 2-0 up.
16:51Yes.
16:51And that is the fine line that could keep you in the division, never mind anything else.
16:54The one thing he would say is Dundee shouldn't go on to lose the game.
16:57And I think the manager is aware of that.
16:59Sure.
17:00But it's such a big moment in the game.
17:012-0.
17:02And let's have a look at the fixtures for the bottom three sides, because they are massive.
17:07I mean, from a neutral point of view, Stephen, it's utterly mouth-watering for us in terms of box office,
17:13but agonising for the fans and the players and the managers.
17:18Out of those three clubs, and obviously St Johnson are bottom, Ross County are second bottom at the moment.
17:24Who's got the tougher challenge here, would you say?
17:26Well, I think St Johnson are last chance saloon type thing.
17:31I think for Ross County, they've got to play the two teams that are round about them.
17:35That's what they'll be clinging to and saying, get these results.
17:38And Dundee just need one win.
17:40So they've all got their own way of looking at it.
17:43I think St Johnson are going to go down.
17:46And I think with Dundee carry a big threat going forward.
17:50They've got energy in their team and they constantly create chances.
17:54I think that's what will get them over the line.
17:57St Johnston bottom and Ross County second bottom.
17:59Is that how you see it finishing, Peter?
18:01I think it's going to be interesting because I think St Johnson are playing with less pressure than the other ones.
18:06Because everybody who's sitting here thinks St Johnson have gone.
18:09Yeah.
18:09And they can play with that freedom then.
18:11Because anything they get above that is a bonus.
18:14They're all going to be difficult games.
18:16I'm not sure yet, but I think St Johnson will go.
18:19But I don't think it'll be as clear cut as everybody's thinking at this moment in time.
18:22I think by the fact that they've got to play each other, there'll be more nerves than other teams.
18:25The nerves are massive.
18:26It will be fascinating.
18:28It was a dramatic final Friday as the championship season proper came to a close.
18:32And Falkirk were crowned champions.
18:33Thoughts turn next to the Premiership playoff matches.
18:36First up, Partick Thistle versus Air United on Tuesday night.
18:38With us at half past seven on BBC Scotland with the second leg in air on Friday.
18:43Let's talk quickly about Falkirk, Peter and wonderful scenes on Friday night.
18:49How pleased were you for them and manager John McGlynn because it's been a tricky few weeks?
18:53I'm delighted for John because the way his team plays, they've been the best team.
18:58There's been no doubt of that over the last couple of seasons.
19:00They do what he's done and he's just continued that on.
19:03They wobbled a little bit at the end, but I thought they thoroughly deserved it.
19:06They were the best team in the division when I watched quite a lot of the games in the championship.
19:10I thought they were the best team in it.
19:11So delighted for John McGlynn and his staff.
19:14But obviously my son played at Falkirk, so he's got a close affiliation with him.
19:18So he was chuffed to bits as well.
19:19So they thoroughly deserved it.
19:21Who do you see getting through between Partick Thistle and Ayr United, Stephen?
19:25I think these playoffs are entertaining.
19:27You see it every year.
19:29Partick have obviously got the harder route to get there.
19:32I think Ayr have got a more direct style, but they're good at it.
19:38And that's why they've had a good season.
19:40So I think it's theirs to get through.
19:44But it's hard for any team in these playoffs when you're going game after game after game every three days.
19:50It's going to be a fantastic few weeks coming up, Peter.
19:52Who are you backing this week between Partick Thistle and Ayr United?
19:54I'm going to go for Ayr United because of what Stephen's saying there.
19:57I think they'll go direct, make it difficult for you.
20:00You know, they put you under pressure.
20:02Partick have been near or thereabouts and it brings a nervousness to them.
20:05And I think they've not dealt with that well enough in the playoff games.
20:09So I just get a sneak suspicion for Ayr United.
20:11It's been a turbulent weekend.
20:13Another turbulent week, Peter.
20:14Stephen, thank you very much indeed.
20:16No guard of honour for us as we exit the premises, but we're used to that by now.
20:21From all of us on the sporting team.
20:23Until next time, goodnight.
20:26You're staring at me all of the time.
20:29I hope you realise.
20:30He's gone, he's changed.
20:32It's not like him to act this way.
20:35It's so surprising.
20:37He's gone, he's changed.
20:39It's not like him to act this way.
20:42He's gone, he's changed.
20:43He's gone, he's changed.
20:45It's not like him to act this way.
20:49It's so surprising.
20:50He's gone, he's changed.
20:52It's not like him to act this way.
20:55He's gone, he's changed.
