00:00Welcome to the tour bus. Hi, I'm Michael Markeji, and I'm in Chicago tonight, and I'm going to give
00:20you a tour of where I'm living for the next four weeks and where I've lived for the past three
00:27weeks, so here it is. Playing a show tonight at Talia Hall, which is going to be amazing. Never
00:33been here before. Just had a song come out. It is called Flyover State, and got more music on the
00:38way, so keep an eye out. Keep your ears to the ground. There is an Xbox. There's a Nintendo Switch,
00:45which has a paper towel inside of it, which doesn't seem good. I don't know what happened there,
00:50but it does work. A lot of FIFA. A lot of FIFA goes on and on the bus between me and the sound guy,
00:55Matt. I usually win. I'm just going to throw it out there, but I have lost the past two,
01:00so I'm going to do some coaching changes, I think. Some formation switch-ups, but usually a lot of
01:05FIFA, Mario Kart. A lot of guys in the band play a lot of Fortnite, which I have not gotten into,
01:11but it is fun to watch and root on. Over here, we have a hand massager, which looks very creepy,
01:18but that's the basis, and when you're up there, shred and base, you've got to come in,
01:25ice the hands afterwards, after the show. When I play FIFA, I'm Chelsea. Chelsea FC, baby.
01:32They're the best, even though they're having a bad year, so, but we have a, like, a three-year-old
01:38version of FIFA. Well, actually, when they're even worse, so, um, win some, we lose some, I guess.
01:43We are not watching any TV right now. We've watched a couple movies. Um, I keep getting yelled
01:51at to watch Severance, but I have not, I have not tuned in yet. I'm, I think, well, I'm probably
01:57like three seasons behind at this point, but our, uh, our bassist in the band, Ryan, his sister is
02:02one of the lead act, actresses in Severance, and which makes it even worse that I have not watched
02:07it, so don't yell at me in the comments. I will get there. I'm busy out here playing shows. I have no
02:14free time, so, that's my excuse. Honestly, I don't even know what, what is in any of these
02:22cabinets, um, but I know one. I know one. Your water drawer. I gotta stay hydrated. That's
02:31about it. That's about all I know. We can start little tiny baby shoes. Um, those, whose
02:37are those? It must be five. There's no way. Oh, wait, maybe they're Annalise. Yeah, these
02:42are shoes from someone I don't even know. These are the, look at this, that's the smallest
02:46shoe I've ever seen. Um, so yeah, again, I don't know even know what's going on in half
02:51these drawers. More shoes. Maybe this is just all shoes. We had a king cake in here at one
02:57point, which are, are the piano players from Louisiana, so he ordered a Mardi Gras king cake
03:05that was in one of these, in one of these, and we just ate it for like two straight weeks. I
03:09think it's gone, but we do have the, we have the baby left over from the king
03:14cake. Cause if you like get the baby in your thing, it's like good luck or
03:17something. You have to buy the next king. Oh Jesus Lord. Baby's gone. This is a, we
03:24had a joke that since we're on here for so long that we need to make, is that the
03:27baby again? Good Lord. Alright, baby's going over here. Baby's going in the, in the
03:32Keurig machine. Um, we had a joke that since we're on here for so long that we
03:37needed to like, start hanging up like those really cliche things like, we made
03:41this house a home. Like we wanted to like, you know, have those really cheesy sayings
03:46like, I don't even know, like cook and gather and this is the family or something
03:51like that. So we're going to start adding posters and pictures and this is the
03:56band. This is the five handsome gentlemen that will be on stage. And this was a
04:00picture of us at CBS Saturday morning, which airs tomorrow. So watch that if you
04:10have some free time. Um, and then over here we have another poster. I think this
04:14is from a show earlier in the, uh, in the, uh, in the tour, but we're going to get
04:19more. I want, you know, like eat, pray, love kind of vibes on the bus. I think
04:25that's, that's our vibe as a band. This is, this is, uh, this was a gift.
04:30From our buddy who owns Rockbridge guitars out of Charlottesville, Virginia. And he
04:37gave this to me cause he knew I liked the Cincinnati Bengals, but he like
04:40invented this toy. It's like sold in Walmart. It's just like a one string
04:42guitar. So it really annoys everyone in the band, but it's really, really fun to
04:48play. I've been playing some strokes on it. Oh fuck. I forget how to play it when I was
04:54playing reptilian out of strokes. I am too much pressure to play it on camera. Um, so
04:59that is the one string guitar. Go Bengals, who day, Joe Burrow. I love you. Um, we're
05:04going to win the Superbowl next year for sure. And if we don't, I'm probably going
05:07to give up music cause I love them so much. Yeah. Let's take it to the kitchen.
05:11It's we're pretty clean. I'm like for being a touring band, we are surprisingly clean. I don't
05:17know what's going on. We're, I don't know what's happening, but everyone's doing a good job
05:22of, of keeping, keeping things clean. We got the Keurig, hot water, the old throat
05:27coat tea before I sing. Um, yeah. Fancy coffee. We love fancy coffee. I drink anything. Honestly,
05:37I love a good lobby coffee. Like bringing out of like a shitty hotel and they just have
05:40coffee sitting around for 14 hours. That's my favorite, but our tour manager loves the fancy
05:47stuff. Um, bread, a lot of hot sauce. We have, we have a couple of hot sauce nerds in the
05:54band and I think they have weaseled their way into the control of the rider. And so on our
06:01rider every night we get like a bottle of hot sauce, which no human can consume that amount
06:05of hot sauce. By the end of the tour, we have like 30 bottles of hot sauce. Um, yeah, that's
06:09it. Look at, and then a bottle of unopened tequila back here. No, it's opened. Where'd we get
06:15that? I don't even, I don't even know. I don't even know what's happening, but yeah, pretty
06:22clean. We do a good job. Unless someone like makes something crazy in the, in the
06:28microwave. Someone like heated up a ramen the other day and it smelled horrible. So, you
06:32know, you gotta be aware of other people on the, on the bus. And then, um, I don't know
06:39what that is. That's not, that's not exciting at all. Oh, a guitar amp is in there because he
06:44put it under the bus and somehow it got wet. I don't know what happened. I think some
06:49Topo Chico's fell out of the fridge, leaked under the bus into his guitar amp. And he
06:54made a big deal about it. He's a baby, but it's all good now. Honestly, I've only really,
07:00I've only, this is like the first real bus. We did like a bus tour in Canada, but this
07:04is like the first time spending a lot of time on a bus. And I love this setup. This is like
07:09the best setup. The seats are so comfy. We have a lot of room, but yeah, this is the,
07:14this is the table. Usually, honestly, after a show, I feel like there's, there might be
07:21some chips, some snackage going on, but it usually just fills up with like light beer. People are
07:25just like drinking coarse light and PBRs after a show and it just becomes like a little pyramid
07:31of cans. So honestly, there's no work that gets done here. Anybody, just whoever claims this
07:36spot, because if you're right here, you get a good shot at the TV, which is important. And you
07:41get kind of like a good look at the room. You know, there's no, no rhyme or reason, but every
07:47spot on this bus is a good spot. It's a, it's a well, well planned out vehicle. Whoever designed
07:52this 10 out of 10, they deserve a raise. Let's see what is in our fridge. It's probably nothing
07:57exciting. Oh, first of all, our fridge doesn't stay closed. It's just like when we're driving,
08:02it just like opens up first night, like 30 Topo Chico's fell out of the fridge, um, and
08:11explode all over the ground, which was a horrifying, horrifying noise to wake up to. Let's look at
08:16it. Let's open this bad boy up. All right. So we'll start here. We, uh, on the rider is
08:25lunch meat supplies. So we always have sandwiched, sandwich supplies, which is important. You know,
08:33you gotta, you gotta stay fueled up on the road, but that also means that we just have like
08:41pounds and pounds of really bad slice of turkey that just kind of goes bad in our fridge. Um,
08:47Budweiser, Coors Light, lots of cheap beer. Honestly, give me a sponsorship because I have
08:56to sing every night. So I don't really drink on tour. I know I'm boring. Athletic N.A. Beer.
09:01Sponsor me. It's a bad day to be an N.A. Beer around these parts because we throw these back
09:06like nothing. We're a couple of wild kids here. So athletic brewing. If you want to send us more,
09:13that would be great because that's what I live off of on the road. N.A. for life. Um,
09:20we're fancy boys. We got kombucha, kombucha drawer, which kombucha always comes in glass,
09:29which is terrifying when those fall out of the fridge. Um, yeah, what else we got? Oh,
09:36then we got the, the healthy drawer up top, you know, fruits, salads, vegetables. We try to keep it,
09:43keep it, you know, try to, it's a, it's a marathon, not a sprint out here on the road. So you can't be
09:50eating, you know, garbage every night. You got to keep it somewhat reasonable or else I would probably
09:57die. Biggest game changer for me in my life. Learned this from our tour manager, the old immunity shot.
10:05Just, I don't know what's in here. It just is like pure ginger and cayenne pepper and it feels like
10:12you drink gasoline, but I haven't gotten sick yet. Knock on wood. So I recommend these. It could be
10:20almost, it's probably all mental. It's honestly all in my head. It's placebo, but I honestly don't think
10:25there's anything in the freezer. We're going to find out though. Oh, I don't know what that is.
10:32That looks like, oh, those are the cookies, cookies from, I, I forgot about those. I forgot we had
10:39cookies. Uncrustables. Oh, taquitos and Ben and Jerry's ice cream. That is like a third grader's
10:52dream right there. So that's crazy. I didn't even know we had stuff in the freezer, but
10:58PB&J and ice cream and taquitos is wild. So that's that. Here's our bathroom.
11:06Pretty clean. Gosh, we are, we are so clean. We are good guys.
11:13Oh, it's dark in here, but nice bathroom. Everything's good. Just can't poop. No pooping
11:20on tour buses, but you guys probably know that. Number ones only. And again, we are clean.
11:27We are good, good young men here on this bus.
11:33God bless. Let's go back to where we are sleeping. So we got 12 bunks, right? 12, 12 bunks.
11:43Um, yeah, I think people don't realize that you sleep on a tour bus. I think a lot of people
11:50are freaked out by that. I brought, I showed like my family the sleeping quarters and my sister was
11:55like horrified by the fact that like we sleep in little coffins essentially. Like this is my bunk,
12:03pretty standard water bottle graveyard in there. But I mean, not a lot of room. So when you're
12:11laying down, it's like right here, but you know, it's, it's kind of cozy. It's like if you like
12:18white noise, the bus gives you kind of like a, a white noise on its own from the engine, but it's
12:26pretty rough. I'm not going to lie. Like you're rolling down the highway, like shaking and stuff. So
12:30you get used to it though. It's not too bad. It's a four out of 10 sleep, which sounds bad. And it's
12:36bad, but it's our life. You get used to it. Junk bunk. We don't have anybody sleeping in this. So
12:42that just holds guitars and yeah, that's a, that's the vibe. And now we are entering the back lounge.
12:52Oh, what do we have? Oh, we have Fortnite on the screen. I guess somebody was playing Fortnite,
12:59but yeah, back here's the back lounge. This is the, I guess you would say more of the quiet vibe.
13:07People back here playing Fortnite, hanging out. It's pretty small. Yeah. We got Fortnite on TV.
13:13Still never played. It is fun to watch and cheer on. Yeah. We got it. We have a shower that no one
13:19uses, just has one single, one single hat box that it looks wet. I don't even know. The shower
13:27should never be on. So the fact that that's wet is a concern for sure. Um, bathroom, another bathroom,
13:34another clean bathroom. Gosh, I hope we win the competition for cleanest group of dudes because
13:39I'm impressed with us. And then, um, emergency exit in case shit hits the fan. And, um, yeah,
13:48that's the, that's the, the back, the, the vibe back here. Kind of like a, a little lounge,
13:53you know, little, you got this like nice ergonomic backrest kind of thing. It's great. Great vibes on
14:00the, on the tour bus. I want to, I honestly, I don't own a home or even an apartment. I, all my stuff
14:07is in Home Depot boxes in my mom's garage because I'm on tour so much, which yeah, that being,
14:14yeah, being a single guy without a home or really any possessions doesn't sound like the best, but
14:19it is great. And I love the tour bus life. This is my life. This is what I was made to do. It's just
14:26a big road trip and it's so fun. And I do it with great people and yeah, it's amazing. It's amazing.
14:33This is my home. This is my, this is my home. And yeah, if you are wanting to follow along,
14:40my name is Michael Markeji. Follow me on Instagram and TikTok and come to a show. My recent single
14:46is called Fly Over State. I hope you guys like it. Um, and yeah, come to a show. It's a very
14:52fun time and I hope to, uh, see you out there on the road. I love you guys.
