Presidential Order of Merit for Pilita Corrales
Actress Jackie Lou Blanco says her late mother, ‘Asia’s Queen of Song’ Pilita Corrales, would be remembered for her excellence in her field.
“She was an artist who was very giving and very generous with her talent. She paved the way for so many artists to make it not only locally but also internationally. She opened the doors for many, many singers,” Blanco said.
Corales was posthumously given a Presidential Order of Merit by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. along with film legends Nora Aunor and Gloria Romero and culinary icon Margarita Fores.
