00:50Chelsea Grammer's heartbreak.
00:59She was a poem, a light, fun, innocent, and wise.
01:05The TV legend overcome with emotion as he remembers his sister's murder 50 years ago.
01:1242 times?
01:1342 step ones, yeah.
01:14Then, first, their neighborhood is destroyed in the L.A. wildfires.
01:19Now their homes are being targeted again by burglars.
01:23Everything was open and thrown everywhere.
01:25Yes.
01:26And it's a woman mystery.
01:28She disappeared after a day at the casino.
01:31Cops found her car, incinerated.
01:34How she survived three days in the woods without food or water.
01:39And the new gold rush.
01:42Americans melting their jewelry as gold prices go through the roof.
01:47$1,044.
01:48Wow.
01:49Plus, betrayed by their wedding photographer.
01:53This has been a mess for everybody.
01:55These newlyweds hired the same photographer.
01:58Where are their wedding photos?
02:00Excuses, excuses.
02:02A stolen car.
02:03Cyber attack.
02:04Flat tire.
02:05Inside Edition investigates.
02:07Now, Inside Edition with Debra Norval.
02:12Hello, thanks for joining us.
02:13I'm Mary Calvian.
02:14Today for Debra, he's known for making millions laugh on his classic sitcom, Frasier.
02:19Now, Kelsey Grammer is fighting back tears, talking about the murder of his 18-year-old sister.
02:25It happened 50 years ago, but to this day, Grammer keeps this photo of his sister next to his bed.
02:31TV legend Kelsey Grammer is overcome with emotion during an interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer as he talks about the murder of his beloved sister.
02:40She was a poem, a light, fun, innocent, and wise.
02:46Grammer was just 20, starting out as an actor in New York when his sister was slain.
02:51Karen was 18, working at a Red Lobster in Colorado Springs when she was abducted by three men on a robbery and killing spree.
02:59She was blindfolded at first.
03:00She kept saying, please don't let them kill me.
03:03Don't let them kill me.
03:04They take her to an apartment.
03:05Yeah.
03:06They rape her.
03:08They put her in a room, in a bedroom, and they went in and took turns with her.
03:12And then they brought her back out and drove her.
03:15Drove her to this trailer park.
03:17With a four-inch blade, they struck her over and over.
03:2042 times?
03:2142 stab wounds, yeah.
03:23Grammer's new book is called Karen, A Brother Remembers.
03:26He chokes up as he reads an excerpt about visiting the location where she was killed.
03:31I stood where I could not be so many years ago.
03:41And I cried out loud like a child whose hope had died.
03:48Freddie Glenn, the man convicted of Karen's murder, was sentenced to life.
03:52And over the years, Grammer has opposed his release at parole hearings.
03:56I just want to ask you why you didn't actually ever try to get in touch with me.
03:59If you're serious about it, you know, I could have asked you.
04:02Mr. Grammer, Mr. Grammer, I have tried to contact you.
04:06Grammer has faced other tragedies in his life.
04:09His father was shot to death by an intruder at his home in the Virgin Islands in 1968 when Kelsey was 13.
04:16And his twin half-brothers lost their lives in a scuba diving accident.
04:20The actor tells Diane Sawyer all these misfortunes led him to mask the pain with cocaine and alcohol.
04:27It's remarkable that I survived some of that.
04:28He says he decided to write the book after consulting a psychic medium who claimed his slain sister was communicating with her from beyond.
04:36Grammer has been known to consult psychics, including Teresa Caputo, known as the Long Island medium.
04:42She says, we always had love.
04:46And she says, we always stood by each other.
04:49Yeah.
04:50And he says, you can believe it or not.
04:52But he felt a medium, actually, spoke for Karen and said, she wants you to tell her story and she wants you to move forward with your life.
05:01Kelsey Grammer's book, Karen, A Brother Remembers, is being released next Tuesday.
05:07It's the community hit hardest by the devastating L.A. fires.
05:10Now, residents have a new worry.
05:12Their damaged home is being broken into.
05:14It just happened to this couple who spoke with Jim Murray.
05:18First, the neighborhood goes up in flames.
05:21Now, this husband and wife face a new threat.
05:24Heartless burglars targeting fire victims.
05:27Oh, my goodness.
05:28Natalie LaForce is showing me her ransacked bedroom.
05:31Where'd they get purses?
05:32Yes.
05:33Handbags, expensive Disney items.
05:36My jewelry was in my drawers.
05:38She says the thieves also gained access to her bank accounts.
05:41So you're watching on your phone and you're seeing your balance go down?
05:44Yes.
05:45Charge after charge after charge.
05:47The burglars also struck her teenage son's bedroom.
05:50It's all ransacked in here.
05:51Yeah.
05:51They took his gaming system.
05:53The crooks who shattered the side door window to break in made off with thousands of dollars
05:57in items.
05:59A neighbor's ring cam captured images of two suspects around 530 a.m., then driving off
06:05in a white truck.
06:06It's disheartening.
06:07Since their home in the heart-hit Altadena neighborhood was damaged in the fire and was
06:11left uninhabitable due to smoke and water damage, they've been forced to rent elsewhere, leaving
06:17their property an easy target.
06:19They're not alone.
06:20With many homes left unoccupied while residents await cleanup, home burglaries have skyrocketed
06:26450 percent in fire-scorched Altadena compared with last year.
06:31It's a different story for fire-raverged Pacific Palisades, where checkpoints still stop anyone
06:37who doesn't live there from entering.
06:39Only 20 burglaries have been reported there this year, about the same as last year.
06:44In Altadena, it's 142 burglaries compared to 32 last year.
06:49Now it's their home that's been hit.
06:53The Sheriff's Department is installing security cameras in the area, but angry residents say
06:58that's not enough.
06:59This 74-year-old woman was driving home after playing slots at a casino.
07:03Her car stalled, then caught on fire.
07:06And when she tried to walk for help, she got lost in the woods for three long days and nights
07:11without any food or water.
07:12She spoke with Stephen Fabian about how she survived.
07:16This woman is lucky to be alive today because just a few weeks ago, her face was plastered
07:21on a missing persons report.
07:23Nancy Bloomquist had disappeared after an afternoon excursion at the Little River Casino
07:28in Lovington, Michigan, where she played the slot machines.
07:31The 74-year-old granny got lost driving home on a dirt road that took her deep into the woods.
07:37When she turned the vehicle around, it stalled and then somehow caught fire.
07:43The first thing on my mind when I saw the flames was, get out.
07:46This is a still from a trail camera showing Nancy trying to find her way out of the woods.
07:52She heard hunters in the distance.
07:54I called out.
07:55I said, hey, over there.
07:57I'm over here, but nobody came.
08:00A neighbor reported her missing.
08:02For the next three days, she struggled to survive in temperatures that dropped to 27 degrees at night.
08:08What did you do for food?
08:10I didn't have any food.
08:11What about water?
08:12I didn't have any water either.
08:14Were you able to sleep?
08:16I just laid back on the branches.
08:18First responders found the burned-out car.
08:20Then a drone discovered her lying next to a tree.
08:23The subject has now been found.
08:25She's conscious and alert.
08:28Body cam footage shows the moment she was finally rescued.
08:31And despite her ordeal, she was feisty as ever.
08:35We'll get ambulance.
08:37I don't need an ambulance.
08:39I need my car.
08:41Well, unfortunately, your car's kind of barbecued.
08:44We'll get you up and get you warm, okay?
08:47I've been cold for days.
08:49Yeah?
08:49Are you hurt?
08:51No.
08:51Another cop brings sheets to help keep her warm.
08:54They load her into the backseat of a patrol vehicle.
08:57So, after a day at the casino, she really hit the jackpot.
09:01She was alive.
09:02I gotta ask, you were playing the slots.
09:04How'd you do?
09:05I came out a little bit ahead, but nothing to get excited about.
09:09Despite her ordeal, Nancy says she'll soon be returning to the casino to play her favorite slots.
09:15New details are emerging about that horrible fall in a baseball stadium we told you about yesterday.
09:20We now know the severely injured fan is a former college football player who is described as a solid young man who always put his family first.
09:28Here's Les Trent.
09:31Get up the middle.
09:32We now know the identity of the baseball fan who took that terrifying fall.
09:37That was just awful.
09:39His name is Kayvon Markwood.
09:41The 20-year-old remains in critical condition with skull fractures following his fall from the stands.
09:47Kayvon is a passionate sports fan and a great player himself, having been named team MVP in high school.
09:55He also played football at Wheeling University in West Virginia.
09:59This is just a hard thing, and it's a hard time, and hopefully we get some good news here in the next couple days.
10:07Kayvon was at the game with his girlfriend and his best friend from high school, who leaped into the stadium to lend assistance.
10:15Let's say some prayers.
10:16And in L.A., there was another baseball scare at Dodger Stadium.
10:20Look out, Nellie.
10:21Jeepers, creepers.
10:23A foul ball smacked this sports reporter right in the kisser.
10:27I literally just got hit by a fastball at a Dodger's game.
10:31Madison Broski says she was in the family section when she got whacked.
10:35I got a phone call, and I looked down to see who was calling me, and in that exact moment, I heard the entire stadium go,
10:42woo, and I was like, oh, no, did somebody get hit?
10:46And went to go touch my face, had blood all over my hands, and I was like, oh, my God, I got hit.
10:52Look out, Nellie.
10:53Jeepers, creepers.
10:54It's estimated 1,750 fans are injured by foul balls every year in Major League Baseball games.
11:03A loss for Prince Harry in court in the battle to have British taxpayers pay for bodyguards to protect his family.
11:10After the ruling came down, Harry sat for an interview and dropped a bombshell,
11:14saying he doesn't know how much longer his dad, King Charles, has to live.
11:18Prince Harry says his cancer-stricken father, King Charles, doesn't speak with him anymore and fears they will never see each other again.
11:27Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has, you know.
11:32Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book.
11:36Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things.
11:39He insists he still loves Britain and says it's heartbreaking if he can never return.
11:44It's really quite sad that I wouldn't be able to show, you know, my children my homeland.
11:49And speaking of the royals, it's Princess Charlotte's 10th birthday,
11:54and Mom Princess Kate snapped this smiling photo of her daughter who looks just like her dad, Prince William.
11:59Happy birthday to the little princess.
12:01The conclave that will pick the next pope doesn't start until next Wednesday, but the gathering has already begun.
12:08The cardinals are here.
12:10The 133 princes of the Catholic Church tasked with selecting the next pope gathered for mass at St. Peter's Basilica today
12:20in matching red robes and white hats.
12:24They've journeyed from across the globe for the conclave, which begins on Wednesday,
12:29and they're greeted like celebrities as they walk around Vatican City, mobbed by reporters,
12:35hoping for a clue as to who might succeed the late Pope Francis.
12:40And right after today's show, I'll be flying to Rome to bring you exclusive coverage of the conclave next week.
12:47If you're looking for some extra cash, you may want to check your jewelry box.
12:50Gold prices are setting records about $3,200 an ounce.
12:55So as Amber Cogliano reports, many Americans are melting down their unwanted gold pieces for cash.
13:01It's the great gold rush of 2025.
13:05With the price of gold at an all-time high,
13:09many Americans are melting down their gold jewelry for cold, hard cash.
13:15Alan Mirzaev, manager at U.S. Gold Refinery in New York City's Diamond District,
13:20says business is booming.
13:23So it's a busy time?
13:23It's a very busy time for us.
13:25This customer came in to sell a 14-carat gold ring
13:28and a broken piece of a 10-carat gold bracelet.
13:31Put it on the scale.
13:32So, how much is it worth?
13:35$1,044.
13:36Wow!
13:37I wanted to see how much I could get for this necklace with a gold cross pendant.
13:41We've got to make sure we know what carat of gold it is,
13:43and then we can let you know how much it's worth.
13:45He puts the chain in what's called a spectrometer machine
13:47to detect the pure gold content.
13:50They're showing us here that we have 10-carat gold.
13:52Now we're going to test the pendant.
13:54The pendant is 14-carat gold.
13:56After weighing both...
13:58About $265.
14:00That's not bad.
14:00It's not bad.
14:01Tiffany & Company, 18-carat gold.
14:04In Los Angeles, jewelry designer Olivia Kazanjan
14:07meets one of her clients, Steph, at home
14:09to appraise some of her gold jewelry,
14:11like this vintage heart.
14:13So in this piece, if we weigh it in grams,
14:17you have 4.6 grams of gold in it.
14:21At today's price, we're looking at between $250 to $300 worth of gold.
14:27She's even considering selling a gold filling extracted from her tooth.
14:31But before you get swept up in the 2025 gold rush, remember this.
14:37If anything ever has any sentimental value to you,
14:40know that you should not be melting it,
14:42because once it's gone, it's gone.
14:45Good advice there, and we'll be back with much more Inside Edition after this.

17:58Imagine paying thousands for a professional wedding photographer than never getting all your photos.
18:03That's what dozens of angry brides say happened to them after hiring the same photographer.
18:09Lisa Guerrero investigates.
18:11These newlyweds say they're missing cherished memories from the most important day of their lives, their wedding photos.
18:18This has been torturous.
18:21Really heartbreaking.
18:22This has been a mess for everybody.
18:24Many months after their weddings, dozens of newlyweds are coming forward to say they have yet to receive all their cherished photos from their big day.
18:33So what do they all have in common?
18:35Then, they all hired the same wedding photographer.
18:39Sarah and Gerald Castro say they paid their photographer, Christina Garcia, $2,000 in return for 250 photos from their wedding six months ago.
18:49We received a sneak peek of about six?
18:54Six?
18:54Yes.
18:55Allie and Alex Trenta got married last November, but seven months later...
19:00Guys, we have three pictures.
19:02I'm just having a moment because we paid $5,000 for eight hours.
19:08This is horrible.
19:09And wait till you hear the excuses they say she's given them.
19:13Let me know if any of these sound familiar.
19:15She has said that she has a sick husband, a stolen car, a car accident, cyber attack, flat tire, no Wi-Fi.
19:23Is that about cover it?
19:24I think there's probably more.
19:25I'm sorry that there were things going on in your life, but it doesn't matter because even if all that happened, you still didn't give us what we paid for.
19:35Sarah, what would you say if Christina was sitting right here with you today?
19:39I would say you're not a business owner.
19:42You're a scam artist.
19:42The embattled photographer wasn't happy when our cameras caught up with her outside Philadelphia.
19:48We've spoken to a bunch of couples who say they never received all of their photos from their wedding from you.
19:53She got in her car, then flipped me off, but she did have this to say.
20:00No one lost anything.
20:01I have everything.
20:02And they're being edited.
20:03Okay, so we just want to know your side of the story.
20:05I don't care.
20:05People are going to be watching this at home, and they're going to go, why doesn't this woman just give them their photos?
20:11That's what everyone wants to know.
20:12An attorney for the wedding photographer says she has been making efforts from day one to do right by her clients and plans to continue doing so.
20:21Meanwhile, all of the couples we spoke to have filed complaints.
