00:00Russell Brand, who had his first day in court to face rape charges, multiple rape charges over in London.
00:07This was really sort of a formality where he went in and the charges were read.
00:14And he ended up leaving court.
00:17But and he had a bit of a, you know, there was a discussion back and forth with the judge.
00:21But one of his alleged victims did testify and detailed what she says happened to her, her interaction with Russell Brand, where she says that he basically they were at, I think it was a party.
00:36And she she claims he dragged her into the bathroom and then began groping her.
00:43So some of the testimony is coming out.
00:47But this is just the first day of the trial.
00:49This was not and it's not even really the trial yet.
00:52This was him facing the charges.
00:53I guess we would.
00:55Which is odd because like like an arraignment.
00:57But yet there's testimony, which is odd.
01:00It's a different way of doing it.
01:02Yeah.
01:02During the proceeding, the lead prosecutor on the case was giving lots of details about the allegations that women have levied against him.
01:08One says she was in a hotel room when he sexually assaulted her.
01:12Others have accused him of things like fondling and groping.
01:15And Russell throughout this whole thing has said, look, drugs took over my life in the past.
01:20I led a very sort of indulged every one of my sexual appetites.
01:24So it sounds like he's saying he does have regrets, but he's obviously going to fight these charges in court.
01:29You know, you pick one horse or the other and it sounds like, you know, the drug thing is one thing.
01:35But the other thing, I think he said in the past, you know, women were throwing themselves at me.
01:39Right.
01:39His thing is that everything was consensual.
01:42Right.
01:42So we will see as this moves forward.
01:45He was granted bail.
01:46And as you saw, left court today.
01:48Hey, boys.
01:49Yes, he smiles here from Miami.
01:51And I honestly think he's innocent because, I mean, he's admitting that he had a sex addiction.
01:57He's admitting drugs took over him.
02:00So obviously he's grown up.
02:01He has a family and he's pretty much defending himself.
02:05Well, that's what he's saying for sure.
02:07Yeah.
02:10Yeah.
